We had already purchased the GIA Certified Diamond from another source and a custom band, simple but elegant, was needed to compliment the beautiful diamond we had. It also fit my girls personality. The store was small &humble, displayed selection beautiful, and very well maintained. I met with the jeweler and shared the design my girl liked. He was very professional and polite. After a few moments of discussing the ring he went into a back room to come up with a price. This is where things took a turn. We have already had 2 other quotes from reputable sources; one in San Diego and One in New York City. These are both custom jewelers with great reviews and reputations; thus, I had already an idea of what this was going to cost me. Id prefer to stay local, give my business to one of the top rated jewelers in Austin, and even pay a little more to do so. When the price was delivered, it was ridiculously high. I was disappointed, even to say shocked. I didn't even want to negotiate, not sure if they would anyway. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I traveled 45 min to this place all excited, but left disappointed and robbed of my happy experience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] So much so, I felt compelled to write this review. I was even prepared to pay slightly more to keep my business local, but this price was 2.5 times higher than the others. Now, San Diego and NYC are pricey locations to begin with, so imagine the awe when a local quote from Austin was that much more. I love Austin, but seriously come on. I recently brought in my late father's rings to be resized and added sizing beads. These hold sentimental value to me, and I loved how they looked worn with the memory that reminded me of how he wore them. When I picked them up I was shocked and disappointed to find that they had been polished to a high shine. They looked like completely different rings and not the ones I remembered and cherished. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I understand that jewelers often polish after resizing but I wish I had been asked first or at least given the option to decline polishing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Changing the finish without consent can really alter the meaning the piece carries. [[HIGHLIGHT]]While the resizing itself was done the lack of communication about altering their appearance was heartbreaking.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I would advise anyone bringing in sentimental pieces to clearly state their preferences. Additionally the sizing bead spacing is also inconsistent even though both rings were meant to be the same size. One ring fits comfortably while the other causes pain because the beads were placed closer together. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They did offer to correct it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I've brought pieces here over time and overall I do think they do a good job. I went in needing repairs on both my engagement ring and wedding band and they delivered both at high quality and super quickly. My titanium engagement ring was warped so badly I couldn't wear it anymore, and they got it rounded back out while I stood there. I was also looking to size it up a quarter size- they gave me their opinion to maybe wait to decide on that, but I was certain I needed it and they were happy to make it happen for me! My fiancé went to another local jeweler of which we were unhappy with. They didn't listen to him on CAD corrections nor even make it in the correct size. His receipt even had 5 3/4 printed on it, yet they casted it in a size 7. After the proposal, I got to meet with that jeweler and requested we please find another jeweler. It was the exceptional reviews of Caleesi that brought us here. It was their superb customer service and attention to detail that kept us here. We not only designed my wedding band and engagement ring, but also my fiancé's wedding band. (I'm not posting the review of his ring yet bc we are yet to be wed and he wants it to be a surprise. Let's just say they did a fabulous job there too! It was important to us to have all of our rings cast at the same time from the same pour of 18K gold. It is extremely sentimental to us and they delivered!) As for my rings, we began with a vision of a ring I saw from a NY jeweler. I had also desired to add some "hippie crystals" in hidden places. Steve and his team fully embraced my vision and worked with me every step of the way. We ended up with two options for my engagement ring. Steve so kindly wax printed BOTH to help me decide on which would be my forever ring. It was really a cool experience to get to design, view CAD drawings, see 3D imaging, and play with wax printings of our designs. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole process from beginning to end. I love Caleesi Designs. I went to a couple of places to check out custom design options for a tourmaline ring. They had a gorgeous watermelon stone, and Cathy and Rayla worked with me to land on just the right design. The whole process was a lot of fun, and Rayla tweaked the design for me a couple of times after I saw the CAD renderings and wax castings. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I had a horrible experience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I had Caleesi create a bracelet. Out of cabochon's, a necklace my mother had given me upon her death. The bracelet was made incorrectly. I wore it for two years and had it repaired 15 times! Finally I had it remade and the jeweler told me that Steve did not use a heavy enough chain to support the cabochon's I provided. Also, the gold did not match. It was 14 karat gold but it was like a rose color and not the same yellow color gold that my bracelet was. It was a failure!!!! After two years of 14 or so repairs I finally have my bracelet redone and I'm happy with my new bracelet not from Caleesi! Don't go to Caleesi!! read more

I bookmarked Caleesi jewelers a few years ago because of their excellent reviews. Only recently did I want to explore some options to make matching ID bracelets with gps coordinates where my wife and I met. Came in to get my lost engagement ring recreated. It was part of a two piece ring set, so I brought the other piece with me along with some reference photos of the original ring. I was told that they might not be able to get it exactly right, and the rings might just have to be stacked on top of each other instead of interlocking like the originals were. Well, when I came back to try on the sample of the ring they made, it was pretty close to perfect. They were even able to get the two pieces to fit together just as they had originally. On top of that, the new ring was ready for pickup after only 3 days when they quoted me up to two weeks. Overall I'm VERY happy with it, and I didn't have to tell my mother in law that I lost part of her mother's ring! read more
