First of all, this place is inside Fiesta Mart, so don't be confused or put off by google maps. There are two jewelry places inside. Walk past the first one to Lu's Jewelry. I have had three items fixed here, all for exceptionally reasonable prices and all turned around very quickly. Ms. Lu and her staff were able to resize a ring, fix a broken earring post, and get me a new watch battery. The earring and the ring look great, and I'm glad to have my watch in working condition again! I will trust them with any other repairs I might need. I've been looking for a jewelry repair/watch battery place in Austin for a while now and had been disappointed until I found this place. Just got a necklace shortened here and they did a great job! They were very thorough and patient with measuring it and making sure it was exactly the length I wanted it. Everyone working there was very friendly and honest, including the owner. Prices are very fair. It's about $10 to shorten a simple chain necklace. Mine was $20 since there was a fixed gem at the bottom and they had to shorten both sides. There were a couple repairs before me, but even then, I was in and out in under 30 minutes. Go into the Fiesta, turn left, go past the first jewelry store (they are NOT the same) and go to the shop at the end. I decided to change my watch battery myself because I was pretty sure it wasn't worth the money to have someone else do it. It went well until I found out that my model of watch requires a watch press to reattach the backplate. It was a Sunday evening and I knew if I didn't take care of it then, I'd put it off for too long. So I found pretty much the only place nearby that was open Sunday evening. Lu put the back on for five bucks and told me that she'd have done the whole thing for ten. Considering the hassle I went through trying on my own and the two dollar battery, that would have been a much better deal. If I ever find my other watch, I'll bring it straight here. I wasn't there to shop, but the selection looked very nice and Lu took great pride in telling me about their equipment and her son's drive and ability to work with just about any adornment you can imagine. If I find myself someone to buy jewelry for, I'll definitely be back to take a closer look. read more
