We had a blast in here! So many items to look at. We took our time, but still do not think we saw it all. Found a great Bowie puzzle in a shape and jacket like a record. So cool!!! read more

Limbo has become my new Austin favorite! I own three pieces now, and I intend to add many more! Their pieces are not only handmade, very close to the shop I found out, but they are so unique, so dainty, yet make such a statement! I consistently receive compliments on them, and I cannot wait to grow my collection! I am extremely sensitive to nickel, and these pieces don't cause me a single issue, even in the summer heat! On our last trip into the store, the owner, and wife of the creator, was there, and she was so kind and genuine, such a pleasure to be around! She welcomed our pups into the store with us, and even made sure they had snacks, much to their appreciation. She made sure to include extra earring backs for me, and assured me of their warranty, should I ever need it! read more

I want to leave a 5 star review for this place so badly but I bought two pieces of jewelry from them, both absolutely lovely, and I've had trouble with both of them. I bought a beautiful dainty pair of hoop earrings and they broke the second time I wore them. Thankfully, they offered repairs but we were visiting so coordinating a drop off and ship was weird and annoying. They wanted me to pay for shipping for earrings that broke the second time I wore them! They did go ahead and waive the shipping fee for me so that was nice. I also bought this beautiful bracelet with a texas on it and it has bent beyond repair. I woke up one night and it was bent in half and I had to take it off and bend it the right way to get it back to the general shape it was supposed to be. As you can see from the picture, the metal has been bent in a few different directions. So frustrating because their jewelry is beautiful. If you're gonna spend $180 on jewelry, you'd expect it to be of a certain quality and it was just not there. 3 stars because it's beautiful and they're repairing it for me. read more

buyer beware. this store is a no refunds allowed store and, in my case, the person who checked me out did not inform me of this policy. there is a sign, but it's not visible as a paying customer while you're at the register. they do offer exchanges, but in our case the difference was still $10 and we were unable to recover that. i can't recommend anyone shop at this store. read more

Great place for jewelry and other accessories. Amazing products for gifts.

This is such an awesome store with the cutest jewelry! I came here because I saw a few items through the window that I wanted to purchase when the store was open. I came to purchase Power & Light Press bags and cards. The staff was very friendly and had some unique pieces from local artists. Everything is fairly priced & if you're looking for dainty pieces to give as gifts or ever novelty items - this is the place! I would definitely come back here. read more

Absolutely beautiful store. Unique jewelry and tons of other gorgeous items by local artists. The artist scene in Austin is truly incredible. Def. stop when visiting South Congress! read more

I like that the review shows only two $$ signs cause that is definitely true. In terms of original designs that are affordable I recommend this place. The jewelry pieces are the symbol for demure beauty. They are delicate in various shapes. Madeline was a gem! She was fun, encouraging and freaking real. At no point did we we feel as though she was fake or forcing us to buy items we didn't want. The artwork is super funky. Of all the little hip stores we walked into this one was the most amiable. read more

Many years ago during a trip to SXSW I found a super sweet shirt that I bought for Sir Nicholas. I bought this shirt from a kind of street market and he love, love, loved it. It was a short-sleeved cowboy style shirt with snap buttons and emblems over the pocket that was an ape punching a shark with a comic book-like pow image. Super. Sweet. Unfortunately a couple of years after this Sir Nicholas has a food accident that left the shirt stained and kind of unwearable. So, you can possibly imagine my delight when I stumbled upon Limbo during my most recent Austin trip and realized that this store is the brick and mortar of that little tent I had found so long ago, or they at least sell the same kind of shirts from that little tent. And yes, they had the same design still. So I swooped up a replacement shirt for Nick lickety-split. They have a ton of great stuff besides the one shirt I bought. And the next time I'm in town and in the area I'll be sure to perhaps do some shopping for myself. Tons of original stuff here and super friendly staff all round out this excellent experience! read more

Love their jewelry! I picked up a really beautiful necklace from them this weekend and am totally in love with it. They also guarantee their jewelry for repair for a year. Highly recommend and will come back when in Austin. read more

My boyfriend and I were shopping and popped into this shop because they had a cool window display. No greeting whatsoever from the 2 snooty sales women. They just kind of stood around like they were miserable to be there. Nothing irritates me more than rude staff that treat you like you shouldn't be shopping in their store. read more

Popped in last night while strolling South Congress and was pleased to see that they carry, among lots of other great items, Quay sunglasses! Online is great, but trying on is even better. The guy working there was super nice and very helpful (thanks for the advice picking a pair!). They carry unique jewelry, handbags, home goods and really cute gift cards from local artists. Great place to pick of gifts that your friends won't find elsewhere. Will definitely shop there again! read more

I can't say enough about how beautiful this jewelry is, and how wonderful Edson has been. He's much nicer to me than I deserve for having only bought two pieces over the years (allow me to shamelessly play my Poor Social Worker card here), and he remembers me every time I see him - which has been roughly once a year. Today he replaced (not just repaired) the chain on my Bubble Dos necklace for free, while I waited, and entertained me with good conversation in the meantime. Free. While I waited. Truthfully, though, I'd buy his stuff even if he were a raging wanker. It's that beautiful. Ooh, and they're opening a storefront downtown, too, at 305 5th Street. Go there. Buy stuff. Be happy. (I'm not implying that consuming goods makes one happy, but I am saying that having Edson's jewelry in your life will, in fact, make you happy.) read more

Such a cute jewelry store with friendly staff! Kristianna was very kind and helpful & always kept a smile on! I will definitely be purchasing more accessories (& cute girl power tshirts!!) from this local shop! read more

Years ago, Limbo became my go to spot for special gifts. Their aesthetic, although very unique and ever evolving, aways seems to be perfect for whom I am shopping for -- from mother-n-law, to co-workers and my best friends! It is kind of a gift shopping miracle spot. Now, before I go start convincing everyone that I am super selfless, I admit that most times I find the perfect piece for that special someone, I also find the perfect piece for myself. I mean, when it is meant to be, it is meant to be, right?! My Limbo collection is legit and my jewelry box would be sparse without it. You might be wondering why I am just now leaving a Yelp review if I have been such a loyal shopper after all these years...? Well long story short, my 5 year marriage anniversary is fast approaching, and as I was just sitting here admiring my LIMBO DESIGNED STACKED ENGAGEMENT RING AND BANDS, I got all emotional recounting the incredible design build process my now husband and I went through with Edson (Limbo founder and lead designer) and Anne (Limbo co-owner and all around Limbo maven). They took their time to create something special and unique to us, that we would want to wear on our hands forever!!! The entire experience (from design inception to fittings) was in the top 3 coolest things I have ever done, and 5 years later I am even more grateful for our decision to go work with such artists to create a piece I love more and more everyday. read more

Beautiful items by local artists. Lifetime warranty on jewelry and if you lose an earring you can just buy 1 to complete your pair again! I purchased a pair of earring on consignment and lost one. They weren't able to sell me just one, but put me in touch with the artist and she is sending a mate for free! Great service! read more

I've purchased a few pieces from this local Austin designer and am in love. His style is simple sleek and goes with everything. It makes the perfect gift. All the Pieces are hand crafted by the artist himself! He sells as a vendor in the parking lot on the corner of Monroe and South Congress next to Vespio. Its so fun when you find unique things in a market. Like finding treasure. Check it out! He event offers gift wrapping I didn't have to think of a thing this holiday season! read more

Friendly service and beautiful items- I bought 3 pieces of jewelry here after seeing their booth at the Armadillo Christmas Bazaar. I've gotten several compliments whenever wearing the new pieces and I love them! read more

We stumbled upon Edson and Limbo quite by accident while we were waiting for a table at a nearby restaurant. What a happy accident it was! You can tell that he takes a lot of pride in his work, which must be pretty easy since it is beautiful work. His lines are so clean, delicate and modern. I could not walk away from the turquoise necklace I bought. It was the most magnificent stone I have ever seen and I loved how he hung it on an asymmetrical chain to give it even more visual interest. I get so many compliments on it! Also, Edson could not be more of a gem himself. So nice and such an artist. read more

Absolutely gorgeous pieces and fantastic staff! My favorite necklace of all time is the Bubble Grow Necklace, so lovely, stunning - I always get a ton of compliments! How do the designers and makers know exactly what I love?!?!?! The service at Limbo is the best, I adore how they know each designer and artist, have great style, and are super helpful. Limbo is an anchor and icon on Soco and I visit as often as I can! Everyone needs a Limbo piece! read more

The BEST jewelry in my opinion!! It's a husband/wife business and you see the love and detail in every piece. This is THE PLACE to shop for unique and timeless pieces of jewelry that you will wear every day. Even if you aren't in the market for jewelry, check them out! They carry everything from the insanely awesome to the totally hilarious. They are SO knowledgeable and passionate about everything they carry in the store. It was truly a treat to shop here and visit, what will now be, a place I frequent! read more

Great quality jewelry that is timeless! I own lots of jewelry, but I find myself only really wearing Limbo all the time! Because it's real gold and silver, well made and it won't tarnish. And the simplistic designs are great for every day and go with everything!! I can layer necklaces and rings too - which I love! I even have pieces that are more than 6 years old that I still wear - like I said - quality and timeless designs. The location of the shop is great! Right on SOCO and there is always something new to discover in there. A new mural or novelty gifts from local artist. All cool stuff. Go check it out if you haven't already! read more

Stumbled upon Limbo on South Congress awhile back, I don't wear much jewelry but love Limbo's creations. About 8 months after wearing my necklace every day, my necklace clasp came a little loose so I took it up there and Ann fixed in in a jiffy. She shined it up too. Then I told her I keep losing earrings while I was considering purchasing one of the many beautiful pairs in the store... Ann sent me off with a new bag of earring stoppers! I didn't even buy anything. I would recommend this store to purchase jewelry for a wedding, bridesmaid gifts, birthday gifts, holiday gifts, etc. The wonderful thing about the jewelry is it's so simple I think anyone would love it! And there's a one year warranty on each piece! You can buy online too at: http://www.limbojewelry.com/ read more

We stumbled in this gem walking south Congress. Unique and inventive clothing and jewelry. The service was amazing!!!!! My girlfriend bought this really cool Tang top with the softest cotton with an amazing art print that we have all ready got 2 complimented on the first day she wore it. They have this rack of vintage buttons ups where they imbroidered all of them with their own designs. It's very unique and hip. Let's get back to the service. I left a package on the counter when I bought the shirt and walked off without it. We had walked a full block and entered uncommon objects store. All of a sudden the girl from Limbo was behind us and said, " I think you forgot this!" She had tracked us down a full block from her store no doubt looking in every store to see if we were there. Very impressive just like their store!!! read more

I don't know why they called themselves a jewelry store. It's angled wire, which means there's wide-open spaces and it looks like someone just bent these things and stuck them on for an earring or necklace. Straight lines, circles, squares ,and geometric designs is not jewelry, I left with a pocket full of money and a loaded up American Express card and left was searching something for my lovely bride. read more

I love this store! Their jewelry is simple and beautiful, really i don't think there's a piece i don't like.

My wife and I visited Limbo Jewelry on a recent trip through Austin. SoCo is one of my favorite areas in Austin, and Limbo is a little gem (pun intended!) of this area. It is actually the storefront of a local jeweler, Edson, who used to sell at the artisan's market. Now, he features the work of many local artists in his store. We purchased some earrings that my wife adores, and wears all the time. Sales persons were very helpful. Would highly recommend - very cool designs, good prices, and you get to support local artisans. read more

Very cool jewelry shop with unique pieces that you don't see in every single store. They also have these badass pearl snaps with great embroideries in them. Sweet place to go for not your average Texas stuff. Staff was very nice too. read more

Edson has a unique style for his jewelry and grows upon that. I received a piece of his work as a gift and then had to visit his studio on the east side to get the chair repaired after I broke it. He fixed it right then and is a delight to talk with. You can usually find him at his booth on South Congress as well. read more

Hands down one of my favorite places to visit. I love the simplicity of the jewelry and my wife is a huge fan. I have bought many pieces over the years and could not be more pleased with my investment. Not sure how Edson comes up with his designs but hats off to him and his creative efforts! read more

Friendly staff. Lots of elegant pieces. Reasonably priced. Most pieces made in Austin.

I'm a man. My wife tells I cannot make a mistake buying jewelry here for birthdays and holidays. I have not gotten in trouble yet. Unfortunately, I started buying jewelry here when they very first opened, and have been there many, maaaaany times, and purchased a lot of pieces. I'm starting to run out of options and am getting a little worried. If I have to start looking for other things or, at other stores, I'm gonna be screwed. read more

This store is unbelievably cute. I am not much of a review writer unless I am annoyed but I was so impressed with the design and quality of the jewelry in store I had to join Yelp. Ann is amazingly kind, super nice and low-pressure all at the same time. I bought all of my christmas gifts there on Tuesday because everyone in my life has to be in Limbo! read more

I visited the shop when I was visiting Austin from SF. I LOVED the jewelry and ended up buying 3 pieces. It is simple, elegant, geometric, and has subtle flair. I loved the jewelry so much I ended up having Edson create a custom piece for me... a necklace made with a guitar pick. it was a bit of an odd-ball project, and he did an AMAZING job with it - was super accommodating, took inspiration but came up with a very unique design, and I LOVED the final product. 5 stars for both the shop and the custom work! read more
