Overall we had a great experience using McGuire for our cross country move. Josh (McGuire) was very professional, upfront, and honest with us the entire process. We started with multiple quotes from various moving companies. The weight estimate for our goods was similar with all the companies, so that was reassuring that they do well at estimating. We chose McGuire because there price was middle of the pack (which seemed fair) and they were willing to go the extra mile in terms of requests that we had for our move. After choosing them, we spent weeks go back and forth with many questions and requests. Josh and his team were very prompt with very detailed responses. We expressed some concerns regarding the price quote/estimate given, possible extra fees, accuracy of the quote, etc., and Josh was very clear and patient with us each time. Ultimately we chose to do the packing ourselves to save some money, but I was paranoid that they would somehow build in some extra charges to make up that revenue. In the end our final bill was less than the original estimate, the weight was less than was estimated, and no extra costs were ever thrown in. In addition, the loading crew was very professional, helpful, and skilled. They were very careful with our belongings and our house. They took care of business and had pleasant attitudes the entire day. I really can't say enough good things about our experience. Overall the company was everything I hoped and nothing I feared. They were honest, reliable, professional, and good at what they do. I really appreciate Josh and all of his employees that assisted us with our move. I don't post a lot of reviews sadly, but I promised Josh I would because I was so impressed. I will gladly call them in the future when we need these services again. read more

Communication. We had an estimate in person. He was supposed to get back with information about transporting a car. Never heard back. Turns out he went on vacation and turned us over to the scheduler. read more

These guys were true professionals! They moved us from a high rise condo to a house all within St Louis area today. We had them move our belongings only, not pack for us. Both homes weren't the easiest (having to wait for elevators and a split level house with multiple stairs), the guys kept a positive attitude and did everything with efficiency. They were also very respectful and gave a lot of care to not scuffing walls or hurting furniture. I would absolutely recommend them for a move. read more

They never contacted me. In fact, looking for movers, I reached out to them. They did not reach out to me. Their prices are far far out of control. There is nothing that is regulating the expense associated with moving including small apartments where it could cost three to $4000 for people to move. It's ridiculous and way out of control!! It's definitely an uncontrolled market. read more

They arranged for a ling distance move and lost pieces to my bedframe. I have a mattress but nothung else. I have moved across America. This was the most expensive and worst move. For long distance moves find another company. Overpriced and not worth it. read more

I've used McGuire moving 6 times total. This last time was to move my business Nex Generation Jewelry. They showed up on time (even in the cold) and every one was so nice. They were respectful of the items they moved and packed glass jewelry cases very well with their cloths and plastic wrap and tape. Nothing was broken! Josh the owner is great and is very willing to take your calls and talk about your concerns and make sure that his teams go above and beyond. They help to take the stress out of moving. I will use them if I every move again (hopefully not ) read more

McGuire is so awesome - I'm not sure why you'd move with anyone else. Everyone is professional and courteous. I've moved with them six times and they've got a customer for life! read more

My fiancé called 3 different numbers for you all on Saturday and then again the same 3 numbers on Sunday. Despite following all the rules given by you, namely the recommendation of having "off limits" room(s) - your movers not only entered said off limits room, but moved many boxes around - and broke a piece off $1,200 professional photo printer in "off limits" room. I have a buyer for this printer and they just knocked off a good chunk of change for selling a new printer. Screenshots attached of the broken piece (you can see they broke the plastic hook off on the right side of the piece, as well as well they left it, and including the clear "off limits" room sign). Not only did they not have the courtesy to let me know or ASK to use the second bathroom (there's a bathroom they were invited to use and had access to), but they placed the broken piece on the printer amongst other items without saying a word to me. Not to mention, the 8 cigarette breaks taken from when they arrived and took around 8 hrs to finish their job. There were already issues I could've complained about prior to finding the printer broken that we will discuss when I get a call back from your company. Not to mention the conversations I heard, namely what I assume was a manager that came in when they first arrived telling them they had already made mistakes. Let alone hearing them complain about their own company, wanting to quit because they're unfairly treated, and complaining about the amount of things they had to move (it's a two bedroom apartment, it shouldn't take 8 hrs OR me hearing them complaining about it). I am highly upset. The least you could do is to return our calls. I expect the broken equipment to be replaced. My number is 573 281 9338. I would like a phone call first thing in the morning. One positive - the movers were polite outside of the obvious complaints listed above. read more

This review is nearly a year late but thought it was important to write. We moved in the middle of the pandemic, across states, and McGuire was by far the best moving company I've hired in the times I have moved. Jessica and her team were fantastic, very prompt to coordinate with us, made sure they had enough people to pack our place, and also did things in a timely fashion during the day of the move. They were honest, were very nice, and very professional. If I could I would hire them for any move in the future. read more

This was the best move we experienced after many many moves, both local and cross country. We used McGuire Movers for a local move form an apartment into a home in St Louis and from start to finish the move was handled professionally and efficiently. Brian came to our apartment to give us a moving estimate. His visit was friendly and professional (abt 40 minutes) and we had an estimate range the next day. We signed paperwork including a date/time for the move. (no money down, no credit card required) The company called a couple of days prior to the scheduled date to confirm their arrival time, and they showed up on that date/time. We had four movers (Roy, Sean, Brian, and Martine) and they were friendly, focused, and fast. Their lead checked in with us frequently to assess how things were going and they took extra care with fragile items. The bill came in UNDER the low end of the estimate. Best move, start to finish, that I have ever experienced. read more

I'll start with the good - my stuff got moved and it was a decent amount of steps and a HUGE driveway. The bad - they damaged my dresser. Yes, they fixed it...but I was without a dresser for 11 days with no compensation to me with minimal apology and sub-par communication: * The moving crew leader didn't seem apologetic about it; in fact he argued with me about where the dresser was originally located in the old house (as if I didn't know where my dresser was) * I had to ask him what happens now/what the process is, question by question.... he didn't even ask me how much the value of the dresser was, I had to look for it on the form to fill it out * No one called me to tell me the dresser had arrived at the repair shop; I had to call to find out, as I had to ALSO call to find out when it was going to be done. Now, if I hired a couple neighborhood kids, then sure, you get what you pay for. But I hired a well-recommended professional moving company and spent over $1200 on this move...I shouldn't have to worry about my furniture being damaged. Period. read more

A true Class Act! They recently provided moving services for my 81 year-old mother. (Let's just say she's a little picky ;-) Not 1 complaint! Actually, quite the contrary. She was really impressed by the care they took with some very expensive old family heirlooms, and how polite the men were. The guys turned what I was almost certain going to be a stressful day, into a breeze. And as far as setting up the move, which was my duty, the office staff could not have been more friendly and professional. We highly recommend this company. read more

McGuire movers showed up on time and ready to work. They were polite and professional. There wasn't anything that I could have asked for more. I would definitely recommend McGuire to anyone moving, whether a short distance like me, or across country. It was the best money spent in our relocation. Thank you McGuire Moving Company! read more

The packers and movers did an outstanding job--very careful, thorough, neat, and personable. They wasted no time and are very knowledgeable about their job. I would not use anyone else. Their names are Zach Mitchell and RoNez T. Smith. I will recommend them to my family and friends. read more

Two weeks ago, McGuire Moving sent an awesome team to move our house. As soon as they arrived, Zach, Joe, Dwaine, Tim, Joe and Spencer got to work. The materials they used and steps they took to protect the house and our furniture was all pretty impressive. Their communication was great, asking questions as needed and being direct about potential issues/challenges with certain pieces. All day they were respectful and friendly and extremely hard working. At the new house, they again protected carpets, doorways and railings and put everything where we wanted it. One of my favorite things they did was with the boxes in the garage. They stacked boxes in a way that created aisles instead of just putting all the boxes in a big stack. That made finding things SO much easier as we unpacked the boxes the rest of the weekend. These guys are the best. When the bill was finalized, there were no surprises, other than it costing less than estimated. I highly recommend McGuire Moving. read more

Terrible experience with this company. The movers took much longer than expected (initial estimate was three hours, which turned into nine), they put heavy items on top of our television box (including a heavy toolbox), which led to it being crushed on one side, many other boxes were damaged because they were packed in incredibly high stacks with improper support, and many bins were broken because they were improperly packed. I have packed many trucks with the same boxes and bins and somehow they were never damaged like this. They also left all the irregularly shaped items until the end, and then said, "I don't know what we're going to do with all this stuff." It was a huge mess, and cost us $1000. I thought we would save ourselves some trouble by hiring movers, but next time I'll save myself the trouble and money by doing it myself. I called the company and the manager didn't believe some of my claims and disregarded others, and took no responsibility because I signed a waiver. He has that right, but I wanted to share my experience so that you can make an educated decision about hiring this company. read more
