I saw an advertisement in a little, South St. Louis County, mailer I receive periodically. I had an above ground pool, a pool deck, a swing-set / sandbox, and decking attached to the house to remove. I called Honest Junk to get a quote. Jim, the representative, showed up, as scheduled, and on time. We went through exactly what was to be done, how much effort it would take, and the cost. Jim informed that if there was additional room to take any more "junk", that they would take care of it. Jim quoted me a price, and I was like "That seems a GREAT deal to me". I agreed to have Honest Junk Removal do the work (about a week out). The team showed-up, on time, was very professional, and in less than 1/2 day, removed my 16 x 24 pool, the pool deck, the swing-set/sandbox, and the HUGE, rotted deck from the side of my home. They even handled unhooking the electric that ran under the deck, to the motion sensor light fixture I had on the deck. Jim had told me EXACTLY what they would do, provided me the most reasonable of upfront estimates, and they did EXACTLY what they said they would - and even addressed additional "junk" from around my pool, and under my home decking! They were friendly, fast, professional, and did what they said they would do. I plan to hire them in the near future to get rid of more unwanted "junk" from my home. As a co-owner of Honest Junk Removal I would like to address the one negative review we have on Yelp. We have had a few customers ask about it and I do not feel it is a fair representation of our company. I have tried several times over the past year to contact the person who wrote the review to resolve any issues, but haven't heard anything back from them. I believe they have us confused with another company they may have spoken with on the phone. The only people who take calls for Honest Junk Removal are the two owners. As one of the owners I can say with confidence that I did not speak with them. I am also very confident that my business partner, Jim, would never speak to any potential customer that way. We are a small, family-owned business and every potential customer we speak with is extremely important. We can't afford to lose any business to rudeness. The review they left CANNOT be true. HONEST JUNK REMOVAL: This is the best I have ever experienced. I have had, through the years, similar service companies handle disposal of old furniture, TV, etc. This company, locally owned, had a most gracious and personable lady, Teresa, answer the call promptly. When I initially asked questions, she could not have been more helpful and provided pricing immediately in call. I called back and set up the service. Upon today's appt., running a few minutes later than "set" which was no issue at all, still yielded a call 35 minutes prior to scheduled time to indicate would be a little later than scheduled. That courtesy is never routinely experienced nowadays. So appreciated. With that noted, arrived promptly, took great care in moving downstairs huge old and very heavy portable TV, heavy sofa sleeper and rugs to up and out; no damage to my property at all. Jim and Steve were personable in demeanor, efficient beyond in physical efforts and professional in attitude. I will be using again in future without hesitation. I am so glad to find this company. I have accumulated many items over my 60+ years. I called other companies for quotes and was not happy with the price or procedure. One company came for an onsite evaluation and I thought it was going to turn in to a home invasion. The workers were not in uniform, used rough language, and looked even rougher. My wife and I were very pleased with the service provided by Honest Junk Removal. I called and talked to Ben about removing a basketball goal set in concrete behind our driveway. They were at our home in St Charles with a crew within 30 minutes! The job was difficult because of the heavy steel of the collar and post set in concrete, but they worked quickly and were very accommodating and courteous. We had them demolish and remove our concrete walkway in our front yard. I was expecting a dumpster, jackhammers, and a Bobcat tearing up my yard. I was even a bit worried at how quiet everything was. I looked outside, and two guys had ripped up most of the walkway with sledgehammers and carried it off to their trailer by hand.
