We stopped at this location at 10:30pm. There was already a vehicle in the drivethrough so we waited in line behind them. 5-6 min later and still no service (and vehicles backing up behind us) the vehicle in front pulled around - we assumed to the sindow for their food - and we pulled up so we could order. But no on came on the intercom so we pulled around to the window... and discovered that there was noone there. We circled the restaurant and though they had every ligh in the place on, there was not a soul in sight. I even tried calling them but there was no answer. We finally realized that they were closed even though their sign and all their lights were on and it was still a half hour until their closing. This has to have been one of the worst McDonald's experiences I have ever had. First of all, the floor was coated in grease, which made for very unsafe walking in the dining room and bathrooms. Next, we arrived at 10:55, only to discover there's no way to order lunch until 11. That's fine. We went ahead and entered a preorder on the app. It was 11:10 before the app allowed us to place the order, by which time we had already given up and used the disgusting kiosk to order (of course no hand sanitizer). The order itself? Let's just say they charge over a dollar for cheese to add to a sandwich and 99 cents FOR MAYO. OK. So those last two things probably aren't on the store or its employees, but dang. The clown needs to get its stuff straight. Ok. Onto the meal. The chicken nuggets were the weirdest shape and consistency I've ever seen. In hindsight, that should've been a flag. I was throwing up and had diarrhea with 20 minutes. That expensive cheese and mayo? Forgotten. I had to go back to ask for it, at which time I was given a hard time and told I needed to show my receipt. Ok. When traveling, expectations for stopping at a McDonald's are not very high. The only positive about this location, which is .7 miles off of I-64, was that the bathrooms were clean. We ordered at the self serve console and waited for the food to come out. We had to ask for drink cups. Drink selections were a disaster. I had paid for a medium unsweet tea. The tea canister was sweet tea only, and that was empty. So I tried Diet Coke, but only something clear came out of both dispensers; whether water or Sprite, who knows. So I just got a cup of water. With the self serve setup, there is no one at the register to ask for help. The fries were cold. Sandwich was not warm either. Keep on going to the next exit. read more

After informing me they no longer have hot mocha coffees, I ordered an iced one. I except there is absolutely no coffee in it. I've been sitting here in parked drive through waiting area for my food for over 5 min now and waiting. There is no excuse for this at a McDonald's there is not even enough space for the cars parked for the drive through as they are so slow on their service. Still the worst McDonalds on the planet. I needed a very quick breakfast this morning and this location was close so I decided to risk it. It had to have improved over the last 4 years, right? Wrong! This review is for the McDonald's on Old Stage Road in Toano. Quite possibly the worst McDonalds I've ever been to. Drive through service is very slow. The staff is diffident. The one time I complained to the manager about my order being wrong, which happens here more than any other drive through I've been to, all I received was excuses. Possibly worse, they screw up the correct change. This has happened on several occasions. We aren't talking a lot of money here, but it never seems to be in my favor. The self service kiosks don't accept payment, so you have to wait in line twice. They don't have a functioning ice cream machine, which should be considered deceptive at this point. Absolutely horrible. Signage on door says 6:00am we were on our way to Norfolk we got off to use the restroom and order breakfast. The door was closed we knocked the women looked at us and walked over angrily and proceed to tell us they were not open when I asked why she got a horrible attitude and telling us she's short staff and that we could not come in when I asked her again then why does your signage say 6:00am she started to scream at me telling me to stop with the attitude?? My second one star review for this same McDs. Ugh they suck! Almost 25 min in the drive through, check the label on my sandwich and it says cheese and ketchup only. Drive away. Get to where I'm headed open it and... tada... no ketchup but plenty of pickles, onions, and mustard!!! Placed a curbside order. Kid who comes out has his lips pursed. I roll down my window and as he handed me the food, I asked him if he knew if there was ketchup in the bag. He did not answer me so I asked him if he could hold on a minute so that I could check. I saw that there was no ketchup in the bag so I asked him if I could get a few packets of ketchup. He said I didn't know you want catch up but did not move. I further explained that the McDonald's app does not give you the option to request ketchup packets. He went to go inside and didn't even bring me ketchup packets. I said "thank you" to which I got no response and I also said to him, "have a great day," which was met by him turning his back to me and walking back inside. This type of work ethic seems to be the accepted norm and it shouldn't be. read more

It was 11:00, where I'm from they serve a limited breakfast menu all day. I made the assumption that I could get breakfast. I was QUICKLY AND RUDELY corrected.
