Back in the days this used to be the best spot to stop by when traveling from LA to SD. Even tho it was always packed with customers but there service and attention to detail was well worth it. Do not travel to SD like I used to but the times that I have I've stopped by this place the service and customers seem to have declined a lot. This past weekend I saw the reason why. Place 2 orders of a sausage Mc muffin with egg combo and on the menu screen screen it's priced at $5.47 also place and order for 3 sausage mc muffin with egg on the side, 2 sausage biscuit with egg, 2 mc griddles When We received the order it was all wrong everything the mc muffins were missing the egg and when I told the girl that took the order she just walked away and called a Manager that said that was what I had ordered and if I wanted the egg I had to pay an extra $3.08 for egg on each breakfast sandwich. Watch and confirm when placing your order at this location. I know for sure I won't ever come back to this location. read more

In the drive-through seemed a bit uncoordinated and my order was incorrect due to trying to use a coupon which required the attendants to go back to the cashier and try to figure out what happened. Came here for a quick bite to eat with my mom and as soon as we drive up to the speaker, we hear nothing. At first we think it's just a delay and that someone is making their way too the intercom, but little did we know someone WAS there and just waiting. How did we find out? All they kept saying was "yes" like they were speaking to someone else. The lady was so rude. My mom gave our order and then the lady says "wait say that again" and doesn't even repeat our order to clarify what we had just ordered. Overall customer service was awful tonight. It's ridiculous leaving a yelp review for McDonald's. But this McDonald's "assistant manager" has a nasty attitude and I asked her for salt after I got my order and she threw the salt on my tray. Hey I have to say coming from east coast must really make you appreciate mcyd's like this one. The customer service at the drive up is so pleasant. They always ask how your doing and address you buy name when you use your card. And they always seem to be in good moods. It sure beats the cashier who slams there windows in your face and loudly talk about people like they do in the east. Every time I come here I am always greeted with a smile and lite convo. This is really is the worst McDonalds ever!!, The food is always cold or wrong, espcially slow inside the store and the customer service is horrible The other night was the last straw for me at this McDonalds. I waited for two minute at the non existent line for someone to take my order. Nobody was around then an employee saw me and started walking over, but a door dash guy ran by me and they decided that the door dash person can cut the line and get their order first. Sadly this is the fourth time they have done this to me at this McDonalds I am now joining group of people who will never visit this establishment again. Don't know even know where to begin. This is the worst location. Time and time again they ALWAYS mess up my order. They either get it completely wrong or forget items. Last night for example I ordered an apple pie, pulled up to the window and they told me they didn't have any apple pie and offered me a blueberry pie so I said yeah okay. Comes back to the window and tells me they don't have blueberry so they offered me cookies and I said yeah okay. Terrible service in the morning today. First of all they did not their own coupon for the buy1get1 smoothie so I had to pay for 2 of them. If I could I would make this review no stars! My kids were hungry driving home to San Diego so I stopped here. BIG MISTAKE. The restaurant is DIRTY. I witnessed more than 10 employees just standing there while the tables were dirty and their were napkins and utensils on the floor. After being there for 20 minutes someone finally came out to grab the trays only to step over the napkins and go on her merry way. An older gentlemen moved the trash to the side so that he didn't slip. My kids do not drink soda so I asked for two cups of water for them. They gave me SUNDAE cups. No, not a kids cup, or a clear small cup or a small cup, a SUNDAE cup. When my son was on his second drink even before I had finished ordering I asked for a bigger cup. The girl said they had to charge me for the cup. I asked for the mgr and he said I can get a cup for $1 and drink as much as I wanted. I looked at him dumbfounded. I had never had to pay for a cup for water. So I asked for bottled water and that was $1. I looked at him and told him how can you charge one dollar for a freaking cup when they sell bottled water for $1? He just gave me a stupid look. Our filet of fish came with a 1/4 of a cheese and when I went back up to get a new one the same manager looked at me as if I was asking for too much. This was the most awful experience of my life. After driving around for an hour searching for a mcdonald's open at 2 am, i came across this one and assumed it was open (since the sign says OPEN 24 HOURS). However, i couldn't even pull into the parking lot since the entrance was blocked by a row of cones and each drive through was blocked by more cones. we went in through the exit and knocked on the door and found it was open, but the one employee in there giggled and said they were closed while he continued to sit around and make himself some food. It would be absolutely ridiculous if this man was getting paid to sit there at 2 am and reject customers. read more

Went for a late night snack at 1 am after searching that this mcdonald's drive through was open 24 hours. The sign also said open 24 hours and on the door as well, but there was a cone blocking the entrance even though a male worker was still inside. He stated that they were low staffed even though you only need 1 worker to work a night shift and as he was making himself food. A simple drive thru order became a walk inside and beg for the fries they forgot to put in our bag. Ordered a combo meal which did not hav fries. I walk inside and was greeted straight away if they could help me. I explained my order was missing fries and showed receipt. He then tells someone else. That person is busily doing other things. I am unsure why he couldn't of just give me the fries. Then another worker ( who is a older lady and super nice) asked if I have been helped and I repeated the same and showing receipt . She did look over at the fry machine and say it will be a few minutes( she looked like her job was only to deliver trays to tables and wipe them down) . I waited longer. I could clearly see the fries were being stacked up. Then 3rd person comes up and ask if I have been helped and I repeated the same and showed receipt. She then told me that I didn't order the combo. Which I then pointed out I sure did after paying $8.39 not just for a burger and bottle of water. She then realized it was combo and grabbed me the fries and apologized . Hooray!! after it was suppose to be a simple drive thru it became a 10min ordeal. In my observation there seems to be no leadership at the front of making sure orders are going out. People palming off other jobs to others. I have travelled all around the world visiting other McDonalds and the foundations of McDonald is always about fast & efficient which I have not clearly seen today. Training needs to be re done properly and management to be reassessed. I give it 2 stars because the food tasted good and the older lady who was 2nd person to address the issue was nice and did what she can as her job was to clean and deliver the food to the tables. read more

Although most the time I do come past 12 am, when I don't they still mess up my order. The service is less than par and they cannot make a correct order ever!! This McDonalds location is the worst McDonalds in the nation...no joke. I dare you to find a worse one. This location (on Pico) has the worst customer service I have ever experienced, poor quality of food (often cold, old tasting , stale fries, over salted fries, missing ingredients, poorly assembled burgers, etc. etc) and long wait times. They will often bag most of your order and then have you pull up and wait for the rest of your order while your bagged food gets cold. And my order is NEVER right. I don't believe this is a chain problem but rather an example of the worst management and incompetent staff I've ever seen. Today I called and "Lupe" answered and said, "who's this?" Lol...Really? This is THE spot to stop when trekking to & from LA and SD. It's usually pretty busy but relatively easy to deal with. Luckily I haven't had any of the order screw ups that others have experienced. They have 2 Drive-Thru lanes to help speed the process. Not sure if that helps or not since I always need to go inside for a pit stop. Very friendly service last weekend even when it was crazy busy. I could see the guy was stressed but he still gave me great service with a smile. read more

HORRIBLE SERVICE... I stopped by here around Mid-November from my trip from UCSD to home in northern Orange County. I stopped by to get a sweet tea (which is a dollar of course), and the woman at the counter was rather very rude and demeaning. The tea also tasted HORRIBLE. I can't help but to realize how the sweet teas taste different at different McDonalds and they never seem to taste the same. The place was empty and rather smelly. The floor was sticky and upon reading the other reviews, it's a good thing I didn't stay here or use the restroom, because I got the drink, and got in my car and went straight on the freeway to continue my journey. Maybe next time I feel like having a rest-stop, I should stop at the McDonalds in Dana Point which is like few more minutes north of this place. I wondered how in the world a McDonald's could have 2 stars (there was another that was not 24 hours with 4 stars). For some reason my friends ALWAYS have problems with their orders here. Usually my orders come out how I request them to but the past two times I've gone they forgot to give me my fries.
