Very slow. Painfully slow. Brought out the wrong order, and here I sit waiting for the correct order. Very very bad at their jobs.

The service here is so slow! The line was 10 cars deep at one point. This happens every time I come here. Speed it up!

First time here. Came with a friend to get a beverage and pastry. It was mid-morning on a Monday,…read moreand the place was just starting to get busy. Food: They have an extensive offering of coffees, lattes, teas, and other specialty drinks. You can also get breakfast or lunch sandwiches, soups, and salads. They didn't have a London Fog Tea Latte on the menu, but they were happy to make me one, in a mug, with whole milk, lavender, and vanilla. They took enough time to properly steep the Earl Grey tea bag and added a good amount of frothed milk. It was flavorful and at just the right temperature, 140°F. Good job! They make all their own bakery items, and everything in the case at the counter looked freshly baked. I ended up getting an amazing-looking blueberry scone. It had a great texture, with a nice glaze on top. It would have been even better if it had been warmed up. They didn't offer, and I never asked. (Next time.) It was a perfect companion to the London Fog. Service: The place was starting to get busy, but we never felt like we were being rushed through the ordering process. Both people behind the counter were genuinely friendly and helpful. After placing your order, you get an electronic buzzer that lets you know when your order is ready. The food was done before the drinks, so we ended up going down a couple of times. A single buzz when the entire order was ready would have been fine. Atmosphere: The place has either a window from the sidewalk where you can order, or you can walk inside to order. There are a few tables in the same area where you order, or you can choose from additional seating in a room down the hall, upstairs, or take it outside. Lots of options. We decided on upstairs, which was a bit quieter. They have games that you can play at your table, which we saw people taking advantage of. The place was clean, well organized, and had a nice, relaxed feel to it. Would enjoy coming back again.

The café occupies one end of the building. I stopped in with a friend for an early lunch, and what a great surprise this turned out to be. Food: Their menu contains regular items as well as some R&D (Research and Development) selections. R&D items are not your typical flavor combinations and are great choices if you like trying different things. We got a couple of hot beverages. My friend ordered the hot chocolate, and I decided to try the special Carrot Cake Chai (with fresh carrots and spices). The hot chocolate was expertly made. It was rich, had excellent foam, and featured special latte art. The Carrot Cake Chai had strong flavor and a wonderful creamy texture. It was a bit sweet for my tastes (and I like sweet), and I didn't finish it. I talked to the barista, and they said they could easily adjust the sweetness level by using one less pump of the syrup. For food, I got the Wisco Avocado Toast, and my friend ordered the Devil Egg Salad Sandwich. My toast was good, with a generous amount of fresh avocado. The grape tomatoes were flavorful, but there was a bit too much of the chili crisp seasoning. The side salad was a small mix of lettuce with a few sliced radishes. My friend really enjoyed the egg salad. It was fresh, flavorful, had the right amount of mayo, and came in a good portion. Service: Super friendly service from the staff. I got a lot of helpful suggestions from the person taking the order, and the barista did an amazing job with the drinks. They give you a number and deliver your meal to your table. Food and drinks came out in a reasonable amount of time. Atmosphere: This place has a terrific layout. You can choose from several different seating areas. Some are set up for a quick meal, while others, like the upstairs area, feel more like a lounge. We sat in the back where there is a couch and several high-top tables. The place has an upscale yet casual feel to it. Before leaving, I picked up several of their sample packs of the most popular sauces: dark, white, and caramel. They will make great gifts for friends. Definitely a place worth checking out or visiting again.

I opted to head upstairs because at the time there was no one up there, but it filled up pretty quickly. I started with the Lucky Pig which is a brown butter almond latte. I also had the Deviled Egg Salad Sando because I can never pass up deviled eggs when it's on the menu. The flavors were outstanding the bread held up well. If I had one critique, the should spread it out more so I get the salad and bread in every bite. As you can see, they lumped it all in the middle which left a ton of plain bread. The ambiance is nice but it does get pretty loud in there with all the people. Sound carries, so when the kiddos are loud it makes it feel that much louder. I can see this being a great place to grab a coffee and lunch while working (cause if you work from home it's nice to get out of the house every once in a while). Parking is plentiful and the service was quick and friendly. I highly recommend making this a spot you stop at when you are in the area.

There's so much going on here, it's so colorful, lots of instruments, (including a bango-COOL), lots of plants, lots of trinkets. The menu is so well thought out and creative. I'm not going to lie it's an indecisive person's nightmare, but good thing you can't seem to make a wrong decision which was reassuring to me. I got the Bonfire latte (whole milk) They have every milk there is at no upcharge! I've been to coffee shops where the flavoring seems to be bland, or much more subtle and bitter for a more experienced coffee drinker who appreciates "notes". Not here! The latte seemed to hit all the obvious notes you wanted it too, and the top had such a soft froth. Seating outside was amazing, really able to absorb the charm of port-Washington. Emily is a wonderful barista, and so attentive. The brownie was delicious, I ate it before I could even get a picture. The stickers were such a nice perk at the register. I didn't take pictures, but the store holds a large variety of whimsical, fun, and silly items, such as coin purses with witty sayings on them. There's also a music store in the same space, selling everything from banjos to harmonicas tiny enough to fit on your key ring. The"real food" menu is only available on the weekends, but there's a bakery case, so Friend and I settled for a brownie that we split and individual beverages. I know some will roll their eyes at the menu, but I thought it was clever and fun. Have seen it done before, but not with the degree of dedication that Amplify gives it. Since I live in Bay View and this place is in Port Washington, I certainly won't become a regular, but when I'm in town there, I'll definitely be stopping in.

All of their flavored syrups are the Monin brand so nothing homemade and very artificial tasting. I ordered a bagel and it was $5, and it came with a Jif PB packet and Smuckers jelly. I wish they would at least have homemade jam or a peanut butter that doesn't have terrible fillers and oil in its product. I then asked for cream cheese and it also came in a packet. The bagel ended up being hard after 20 minutes and I had to toss. The prices are so overpriced for the quality.

Food: I checked online before coming, and they have an impressive list of drinks, both hot and cold. We ordered a couple of lattes. Mine was a London Fog Tea Latte (a little lavender, a little vanilla) in a mug, and hers was a Coffee Vanilla Latte with almond milk. They did a great job with both of them. My London Fog had great flavor, well-textured foam, and was a good temperature. They did leave the tea bag in, which might be their standard practice, but I prefer the tea to be fully steeped and then have the bag removed. Otherwise, removing the bag later messes with all the wonderful foam (next time I would ask). Each of us got a scone. Mine was blueberry, and hers was white chocolate raspberry, warmed up and plated. Both were very good. If I had to be completely honest, these scones are more like muffins than traditional scones. However, they were both delicious. Service: As soon as we walked up to the counter, it was nothing but friendly vibes and helpful service. They stepped us through the details of the order ("whole milk okay, how much flavor, etc."). They didn't rush the orders and took their time getting them right. When the bakery items were heated up, they brought them to our table. I always got the feeling that they truly appreciated us being there. Atmosphere: The building is a quaint, wonderfully maintained historic brick building. There are café tables outside that would be great on a warmer day. When you enter, you are taken back in time. The vibe is authentic and relaxed. Much of the interior looks like it may be from long ago. It's a bit cluttered, which could be distracting, but I think it fits. There are enough windows to bring in a good amount of natural light. The counter has a large array of pastries, muffins, cookies, etc. The main area doesn't have a lot of seating, and I did find it a bit loud. There is a separate seating area toward the back with several more tables and much less noise, which is where we sat. A very good first visit. Would definitely come back again.
