I ran through the drive-through tonight. There were maybe 3 others that used the drive-through while I was there so it was rather slow at the time I was there. The young lady who handed me my bags of food would not speak and had the most unhappy look on her face. When I got home and sat down to eat I discovered they had given me honey mustard and not hot mustard. To be honest, without the HOT Mustard, I would get nuggets elsewhere. I love the hot mustard. I loved it the first time I had it in 83 or 84 when they first introduced the nuggets. At least this time they did put sauce in the bag which they have left out many times in the past. I kept giving them another try but it is obvious they are not going to improve. read more

This McDonald's is located along Interstate 20/Interstate 59 at Exit 100 in McCalla, AL. The place is pretty easy to get to and is just off the interstate exit. It's located inside the Love's Travel Stop. Our visit here was on August 4, 2018. The place was pretty busy when we came in, which was not a surprise since it was around the lunchtime hour. My niece was with us, and she wanted McDonald's, so that's the reason for the lunch stop here. When you first come inside, the place was pretty nice. There were some tables in there. With the rush, there were workers there clearing tables as quickly as possible to keep them available for others to use. I was still a bit apprehensive after seeing other reviews from here, but alas we were here anyways. The wait in line to order was quick though. Our wait on this visit was about 2 minutes, which wasn't bad considering how busy they were. I ended up ordering a Quarter Pounder With Cheese meal, with a special order on the burger with no pickles and extra onions. After a few minutes, the order was ready for all of us. Almost all of the orders were correct. The only error was with my burger. They did no pickles and no onions instead of extra onions. I went back up and asked for extra onions due to the mistake and they got that for me very quickly. After that, it was time to eat. The burger, fries, and drink were actually quite good and hot, which I don't normally expect at a fast food place. The others in the group said their order was correct and the food was good and hot as well. Overall, this was an okay McDonald's. There does need to be some work at quality control to make sure orders come out correctly, but other than that, this visit fit the bill with no major issues. If I am looking for a McDonald's and am in this area again, I'd still come back given the experience in this visit. read more

Fries were lukewarm, we ordered a basket of fries that was MAYBE half full. We tried to get a couple extra sauces for the 20 piece nugget we ordered and the staff made it a point to avoid eye contact or to acknowledge that I was clearly waiting for something. The staff here has no concept of work ethic. They were clearly not concerned with being polite, or providing even halfway decent customer service. Went through drive through placed order for two quarter pounder combos. Paid for them was told to pull up. Waited and saw another customer get directed to park after me then employee came out and gave them what appeared to be their order as they drive off heard them saying with window down this is a bunch of food. Waited for twenty minutes before seeing employee lean out the window and look at me. I then went in when I did heard employee yelling to the back the same order I placed. I asked is that the order I placed over twenty minutes ago and she said yes we gave your order to someone else. No apology of any kind I then said when someone us waiting on the side with their engine running you should come tell them when you screwed up she didnt respond except with a smart little smirk and body motion. I then aske who the manager was and she said me and I said youre the general manager and she didnt answer. I waited another ten minutes on my order standing at the counter when she gave it to me no thank you, no sorry, nothing was said by her at all. While I was there another employee was raffling off the order that was supposed to be the customers who got mine. He sold it discounted to the Loves truck stop employee. The food is mediocre. Because many times the fries are somewhat cold, the rest of the food sometimes tastes like it's old too. In the drive thru they always say " is that all" after every single thing you order & it's really rude when you're trying to order for more than 1 person. Many times they clear the screen and you can't see the menu on the screen. They forget our drinks or straws all of the time. And sometimes when you go through the drive thru, it will be closed but there will be no sign on the menu, so you will sit there forever until you drive off and they have a "come inside" sign where you pay. I would literally never recommend this McDonald's to anyone. First off, we sat there waiting in line to get our order taken for 25 minutes. When we got in line there was one truck ordering, and one car behind them, then us. The guy in the truck was not ordering everything on the menu...the person who had been at the first window taking orders had simple just walked away. So finally, we get moving, we get to the ordering screen. I ordered two burgers with extra onions on them, my wife got 2 McChicken's, and we got a hot fudge sundae to share with extra hot fudge. Well, they gave us our food pretty quickly, got the bag with all of the sandwiches, then she handed me the sundae with like almost no hot fudge sauce on it. I looked at her and said, "we had extra fudge on that". She looked at me like she was offended to what I said and as if she hated her job, took my sundae and disappeared for about a minute, came back to say, "We're all out of fudge". I did not want to make a big deal about the extra $0.40 I paid for it and ask for the refund of it because I felt like they're too slow to understand that. Anyways, we park to eat quickly so we can return home, my burgers have no onions, and felt like they had been sitting in a fridge they were that cold, same for one of my wife's McChicken's, the other one seemed to be the only thing actually cooked anytime within or at least right before our arrival. They somehow locked their freezer and had no way to open it so most of their products were not available. I think that maybe a manager could open it. How about the franchise owner? WHERE DO I BEGIN?! After missing the glorious exit of McFarland Blvd and our Whatabutger, what did our tired eyes see? Of course, a McDonald's. Those beautiful golden arches radiating next to sign of a Loves Gas Station. Upon pulling in after a grueling 10 hour drive from Dallas, Texas.... this is our story. Hungry enough to eat McDonald's franchise at 2 in the morning, the first red flag appeared as we noticed who we can only assume is the employee of the year. But as hungry as we were, we caved. After enough time to visit the bathroom and still wait 20 minutes at a table, we finally heard the words we were desperately wanting to hear. And boy did it go downhill from there.. The order was to go, but they have completely forgot to turn on the coffee pot. Knowing it was going to be another 20 minutes, we decided to sit down and eat inside. "Mmmmm look at these wonderful fries" my friend said. Now, remember when we were kids and ate half of the fries that our parents ordered us only to put them away to be ate few hours later?? This is exactly what the fries tasted like upon receiving them. After being severely disappointed, we decided to dive in to our bacon cheeseburgers.
