Throughout the years we've stopped by this McDonald's for food and restroom stop. The outside is very cute with pretty mountain murals. But this year I was very disappointed, only two kiosks were working and the restrooms required a "code" to use. That part would be fine if an employee were available with which to get the code. On highway 395 there are three Mcdonald's Mojave, Lone Pine and Bishop. We have been to all three on our last trip to Mammoth Lakes. We have found that all three do not offer refills on their drinks, while charging high amounts for their drinks. Stopped by on my way to mammoth and we waited almost 20 minutes to receive our food which was served cold. Hard nuggets and cold burgers and only 2 sauces for 20 nuggets 2 burgers and large fries. When we asked for more not only did they seem to have attitude but the only provided one more for each box of nuggets.. Laziest McDonalds in the country. Sure, the view is incredible, but I can see that from the parking lot. I haven't left a Yelp review in a very long time, but this place woke me up... and I was enjoying my nap. Stopped by at 7:15 this morning to grab some breakfast. Sign on the locked door said open at 7. Drive-thru was open, but I didn't feel like sitting in traffic. So I left and had breakfast in Bishop. Now, on my return trip, I went inside for lunch. Two of four kiosks were not working and a human was unavailable to take my order. Took my table number so they could deliver it to the table. Table and seat were filthy and covered in dried smeared cheese that I didn't see until I got up. Of course they called my number to go up to the counter. Returned to find that dried cheese. The food was fine... it's McDonald's. It's not like I was expecting a fine dining experience. And now, the reason I wasted time writing this review for a business that obviously doesn't care... Whoever owns this McDonald's is trying to squeeze every penny out of their customers and employees. Always understaffed. One sauce per order, charges extra for more. No fountain machine, and no refills. Must order at kiosk- no employees taking orders. Higher prices than other McDonald's. No toys with the happy meals. Always packed around lunch and only a couple employees (who are doing their best). Owner is banking on the lack of competition and it shows. read more

Holy Moly. 39+ minutes completely trapped in the drive thru for just a deluxe breakfast meal!! What happened?!? Lots of employees shuffling around. This is crazy. I had a terrible experience here. I ordered two Big Macs and it took over 40 minutes. The workers here have there hands up there asses. I have been driving past this place twice a week for 2 years and not once has this place been open when it's well past their listed hours of operation. These people want $20 an hour so they can charge me $25 a sandwich but they can't even show up to work on time. Pathetic. read more

Damn this place sucks. Filthy bathroom, somehow their food just isn't on par with all of the other McD's I've been to. They are in the middle of nowhere, so you'd think they would want to excel at being consistent, friendly and inviting. The employees are often rude as hell. And their coffee just flat sucks ass. Weird thing happened on our way down south. Stopped for breakfast at about 6:20am and there was a orange cone blocking the drive through. There were no hours posted on the door. My husband saw workers inside so he walked up to the drive through window and tapped on the window. The worker Ignored him so he tapped harder. She turned around slowly and opened the window. When my husband asked when they opened she looked at him blankly and told him the drive through was opened. When he told her their was a cone blocking the drive through she gave him another blank stare. He asked her what their hours were and she couldn't answer him. We drove back around to the drive through and the cone was gone. We ordered and got our food from the same worker. She was not friendly at all. read more

I am on a long road trip with my kids, and I was stopping to get a soda and a couple of happy meal toys for my two kids (4 and 2). I just did this last week at another McDonald's. I was told at this location that they do not sell the toys without the purchase of a happy meal. No biggie for this adult, but for my 4 year old who has autism and my 2 year old, they don't understand. I tried to plead my case, but they would not help me. Super frustrating. I will add, but it was at a weird time I will add that my kids were not hungry, as it was around 3:30 in he afternoon and not a meal time. Otherwise i would have just bought a happy meal. If you're driving the 395 and want to stop at McDonald's highly recommend making the stop at the Lone Pine location rather than waiting for Bishop. Much better service and they have free refills on drinks. read more

This McDonald's changed Ownership a couple of Years back and it shows, in a negative way! My 50+ visits before were all consistently good, freshly made food with a smile. Now all you get is attitude all the way from the cashier to the Manager(s). I recently made a purchase and requested easy salt in my french fries in my combo. In drive thru queue for 14 mins. The fries came out soggy, sandwich was cold and my fountain beverage tasted "moldy." I got back in line upon this discovery (only drive thru open) when I got to the window 12 mins later and requested an entire new meal. "Nicole" rudely states her Manager (Maria) will only allow her to replace my fries. She mistakely gave me a small fry when I hd originally ordered Large size. The new fries were just as bad as the first ones. I gave up, threw all my food away and lesson learned. 2- When I wss driving through the drive thru, 5 ft. from the back door were (2) employees plying with visiting Family/friends. No masks. Not Covid-Safe. Huge No-No. I called corporate about this location as well, although this one is privately owned. My husband works up and down the state of California , Washington and Seattle. We also have adult children and eaten many McDonalds meals. Tonight driving beck home from Reno we stopped in Lone Pine. I wanted to acknowledge the staff there. Corporate offices should make note of this gem. Not only was the service fast and served friendly but the cooks did a fantastic job. The meat was juicy and the produce fresh and the buns soft. This was obviously freshly made with cate. Pee my husband noted in his 56 years this was the best quarter kinder he has ever had. We stayed at a Motel nearby which was just a walk's away and we were amazed by the quality of the Sausage Mc Muffins we had for breakfast. It was so good that we came back the next morning. Not sure if its the location of where they get their meat sourced from or perhaps the altitude we were in, but it was that great that I had to write this review for McDonald's which is looked down upon Yelp Elite Reviewers...#IDGAF hahaha read more

Check your receipt, and hang onto it! We purchased two sausage McMuffins, two hash browns, and a coffee, but the charge shows up on our credit card as $27.12. No way it cost that much! Found this McDonalds at Lone Pine at a very opportune time. Everyone needed to take a pee pee break after hiking at nearby Alabama Hills. Restrooms were clean. In fact the entire dining area was looking quite good. Grabbed a large drink since it was on sale for 89 cents. Service was fine and quick. Can see myself stopping in again on future trips to this beautiful part of California. read more

What appeared to be the supervisor was talking to what I thought was customers but once she was done she walked away and the kids just kept standing there and I asked if they were in line and they said no so I went to the register stood there for about 3 minutes with 5 people behind me and the supervisor peeks her head around the corner and told everyone to order at the kiosk's.
