This is also your last stop heading south for a while, so clean restrooms and the usual gas station mini-mart fare are found here. First off, there's only about 8 pumps that will pump out Diesel, 87, 89 & 91. All pumps were taken when I drove up and I probably was waiting a good 10-15 minutes waiting for a pump to open up. I was wondering why it was taking so long and I attributed to the 2 large SUV's that were pumping. When I it was finally my turn, I noticed that they don't have tap to pay at the pump. You will either have to pay inside with the cashier or insert your card. With all of the credit card skimmer stories popping up over the past few years, I didn't feel comfortable having to insert my card. But I made sure to use a credit card just in case. After I made my payment and selected the octane, 1 minute in to pumping, I noticed how slow it was dispensing gas. So I asked the other folks that were pumping around me and they were having the same issue. Looks like this place needs to replace their filters or something to increase the flow. The only reason why I chose to stop here is that it's the cheapest gas you are going to find anywhere along the 395. 87 was $4.25 while the Vons gas station in Bishop was $4.59. Usually, the gas station isn't 100% taken from what I've noticed in the past, but since this is a long weekend, it was a bad call to come here.

I entered my Vons number to get my discount per gallon as I always do, and then put my card in and entered the area code. Then I clicked the gas I wanted and placed the nozzle into the car only for the screen to display the message "replace nozzle and see cashier". What does that even mean? I went in and asked the guy and he had no idea what I was talking about. He came out and canceled my transaction. He "took care of it" I filled my car and he told me to come in and pay. So I did only for him to tell me my card has been declined. I just used it a couple of hours prior. So now I'm mad and confused. The other person in the car paid for the gas and realized we never got the Vons discount! That irritates me because I told the guy about the Vons discount and he said "he put it in". Which now talking to the other person about how much she paid we didn't get it. I called customer service regarding my card and it was cancelled. I'm not sure what happened but I am confused. I've driven this highway hundreds of times and I've never had that issue before. I'm not happy that this happened and it all comes down to this gas station for the "replace nozzle see cashier" message on the display. That's were it all went down. The guy at the front was hard to understand and couldn't discuss much with him which also complicated things. Never stopping at this chevron again.

After ordering my food I didn't know because this was my first time here, but the chips that come with a meal will be located to your left, and if you order a drink you pick up your own cup on the left side of the soda machine. I say this to you because it wasn't told to me and after receiving my food I had to get up and grab it myself. The food was not good good but it wasn't horrible, with that being said I wouldn't recommend this place at all. I ordered a chicken quesadilla and asked for EASY CHEESE and got so much cheese. The chicken was like shredded and cooked in something because it wasn't just basic plain shredded chicken. The blt was ordered for my son who said the bread tasted gross and sandwich had no flavor. Now how the heck can anyone mess up a basic blt‍. I ordered basic hamburger. Lettuce and tomato were great, it had too much special sauce and the meat was just meat. Their potato salad is actually some of the best I've ever had but the macaroni salad now if you like food that you can chew with no flavor then I highly suggest ordering the mac salad lol.
