We went to have a cup of coffee and their drive through was the only thing that was open at noon. We walked around the block to find somewhere to sit and when we got back they had towed our car. $235 dollar cup of coffee? The manager came out swearing at my husband. Sucks! The renovation is nice but the customer service sucks! The lady at the counter no hi can I help u she just looks at you like we are bothering her! The staff is joking around laughing and when I had to return my sandwich because it was hard like cardboard they made me wait 10 min. When I asked what was taking so long they said the fryer was not on??? I said if u make me wait much longer my fries will be cold. They said ok. I then said I want new fries and they said ok. Just left McDonald's Kailua and are headed to Enchanted Lake to put in our 75 sandwich order for tomorrow's church breakfast. We waited in line and bought $50 worth of gift cards and when we wanted to put in and pay for tomorrow's order, manager Jarron said that we would have to hold on because they were kind of busy. No need for sarcasm buddy. WE stood in line just like everyone else. We continued to wait for 10 minutes, but he never took our order. So we left. Mr. Victor Lim, please be sure to have your managers treat your paying customers better. WE did nothing to deserve such terrible customer service. I hope Enchanted Lake Mcdonalds will be better. This is a stellar example of horrid customer service, lack of English comprehension, and a general distaste for customers - even repeats. Expect your order to be wrong. Expect the place to be cold and over run with poorly behaved kids. And expect to be yelled at by the employees. Yep. I don't lie. Drive 1/2 a block for Jack or to Aikahi for Burger King. I had a really bad experience from this McDonald's yesterday. I ordered Local deluxe, since they do not have salads in the morning and a iced caramel macchiato. The lady was very rude when she was talking to me, when I got to the window she tried to hand me a hot caramel macchiato. I let her know that I ordered a iced one. I got all my orders so I went straight to work, 1 hour after eating half of the Local deluxe I started feeling sick and started to have stomach problems. I just went through the drive thru and ordered a sausage egg and cheese mc griddle when I got my food there was not egg or cheese on it. I mentioned this to the girl at the drive thru who had an attitude and went and got her manager. Manager said she will charge me the difference which is fair enough. Before I could ask the manager a question she disappeared, so I went to ask the girl who helped me at the drive though - what was the total cost of one? She just sat there and ignored me, so I talked louder saying hey! Trying to get her attentions. Still she just ignored me. If I could give this location negative stars, I would. We simply walked in and asked to exchange $3 for change for a parking meter. We were then told only a manager could approve this, so we offered to buy something off of the menu and were then REFUSED service. If you are on the windward side and want McDonalds you are better off going to the location in enchanted lakes. The location in Kailua town routinely messes up our orders. We've encountered missing items, undercooked items, expired chocolate milk and when I ask for no mustard they pour it on. Today we waited in line 20 minutes to be told the ice cream machine was broken. A sign nicely posted could have saved us time and cranky kids. read more

Seriously. I go to this McDonald's once, maybe twice a month and I swear the service is horrible. I mostly use the drive thru so I don't know how the service is inside. More often than not, my order always has something wrong. I ALWAYS have to check my bag before I pull away since it will usually be missing something from an entire sandwich to extra sauces that I ask for specifically when I order. I've been to other McDonald's and I must say this one is the worse. The worse part is that I will probably continue to come to this place because it is the closest one to to where I live. read more

I feel funny about writing a review about McDonald's but I've come here many times and there is usually a issue I need to bring it up. If you want a milkshake, the machines are usually not working. It's been twice in a row in the past month that the milkshake machine is down. What's even worse is I paid twice for them and and the cashier didn't know they were down. I really love the layout of this McDonald's. Spacious and open with a play area inside for the kids. The food is the same food you expect at any McDonald's. Ordered my sausage burritos and they were great. The hash browns were hot and crispy too. I was in and out in less than ten minutes. Got my food, ate, and out the door to look for records. read more

The food was up to par just like any other McDonald's before. I was here on vacation with my family. I noticed that they only took cash and they said that their credit card machines were all down at the time. What I find unusual is that I saw a previous review written here that the machine was down at the time and that was three months ago! Something doesn't seem right to me. McDonald's being a gigantic corporate company should be able to have the credit card machines restored pretty quickly. I would have given this place one star if I did not have cash on hand. I was babysitting and left with the Mom-van and $20 to take the kids to McD for dinner. This McDonalds has a slide/play place which was being used only by the 2 girls I was with - they had a blast before and after mealtime! That's why I gave 2 stars instead of just one... TERRIBLE customer service! Before you judge me, please know that my very first job at the age of 15 was at McDonalds and I'm always more than kind to McD employees. I ordered myself a grilled chicken sandwich and ended up with a McChicken. No no no - not the $1 menu mystery chicken patty! I was trying to be moderately healthy. I told the guy who was getting my order together that it was incorrect. The guy who had taken my order mumbled something about "that's not what she said" and that was it, they both went on their McWay and ignored me. I saw someone who looked like the McManager and caught his attention, letting him know what was up, as politely as I could. I wanted GRILLED chicken and would be happy to pay for the difference. He didnt' apologize to me at all, just went to the order taker and told him to fix it. Then, Mr. McMumbles said "there are so many grilled chicken sandwiches! #5, #6, #7..." I had to speak up and tell him - ORIGINAL. GRILLED. CHICKEN. I paid the difference like I said I would, although I didn't think I should have to since it was his McMistake, but I didn't want them to do something yucky to my food. The only thing the manager said to him after the whole ordeal was PAY ATTENTION. Nobody said sorry or offered me a delicious McFlurry to compensate for my troubles. Oh well... I got my grilled chicken sandwich, the lettuce was wilted and the tomato was gross. I only ate half. The kids were thrilled to play there, loved the milk, and ate half of their happy meals - which was good for those picky eaters! McDonalds remains a need-to-eat place for me! read more

Ive been in CHARLES drive thru line many times & I have to say he has the best customer service. Like waay better service then those fancy restaurants customer service. I usually dont write reviews on fast food chains because youll get the usual bad service, hair in food, wrong orders, attitude etc etc. But I had to write this review for Charles, I work just down the road and ALWAYS drive thru during lunch or dinner & always run thru him during dinner time& each time i see him hes ALWAYS IN A GOOD MOOD ! EXCELLENT service from him. He should consider a higher end restaurant so he can make BIG TIPS. With his awesome customer service it can so happen !!! This mcdonalds is kind of up and down. This particular occasion was a good one. The food was hot the fries were good. I tried the mighty wings and they were piping hot and juicy. The mcnuggets are bland after eating the mighty wings. So it's a win for the wings! Asked for a powerade/punch mix but it came out only powerade. Both quarter pounders were special ordered and came out correctly. All in all it was a good visit. read more

How can a company have a full staff at 7:30pm and a total of 3 cars at the drive thru take 25 minutes to a customer inside the restaurant and serve a ice cold meal? Then when I asked to talk to the manager I was told that they did nit have one. After asking 3 times a employee said oh I'm a manager. After explaining how horrible the meal was I was told how busy they were. That was it. Just we have a couple of cars in the drive thru. I counted 10 employees and I was served a horrible meal with no explanation other than its busy. This was the WORST customer service I at 50+ years old have ever experienced. The French fries were cold and greasy and fish burger and buns were cold, and there was hardly any sauce....not to make too much of a stink, I asked if I cld have a little more sauce, and was told I would have to pay for it. I've been going to different locations for a couple years now and have noticed certain consistencies with the different McDonalds restaurants on the island. This one is by far the best in terms of excellent French fries that aren't soggy or lacking salt. Sometimes there's obviously a lot of cars and the drive-thru may take quite some time, but it's still worth it to me. The egg mcmuffins were great as well as the quarter pounder with cheese, but to me all McDonalds' have been generally the same in terms of just those food items, just not the French fries. If the drive-thru is full, I haven't had a problem yet just parking and walking in to order. Sometimes I think it's faster to do that. Also, the employees seem a little more happier. Although I wouldn't mind so much if they weren't happy, for it does seem like a strenuous and tiring job. read more

Mcdonald's is Mcdonald's comfort food. However, the lady that works there, an older portugese woman is ALWAYS very rude to everyone when I see her. She usually works in the day shift. I think her name is Mary. I hope that my insight will help this worker to clean up her act, because I have seen many people physically move away from her line and go to the next register just to avoid her. We went to this newly renovated restaurant for the second time. After sullen service the first time, we were not going again. But we tried, and were dismally disappointed. The cashiers do not smile, say thank you or in our case, when they made a mistake, they did not apologize. The manager of the morning was equally unfriendly. Is it just his style? Was it a case of senior discrimination? While we dined, we saw a worker arrive and park in a prime space, in front. The bad attitude of the workers can be seen throughout this rather empty McDonalds. They cannot expect a place filled with happy returnees until they revamp the attitude of all the employees from Managers down to Cashiers. This regards Store #1260 at 10:39am 12/13/11.
