This is my initial visit to the Kailua Town Center's Starbucks, on the corner of Kailua Road and Hahani Street. Initial as I am not a fan pf corporate America and, especially, corporate coffee chains. I am not a coffee snob...Starbucks doesn't have bad coffee...there's isn't a need to get into the details. Typical Starbucks layout; the front entrance takes you to the mobile pick up counter. Not every store has outdoor seating, but this one does. Number of parking stalls nearby...and, naturally, it is busy in the morning. Be careful with the Hahani entrance as a couple of vehicles hopped the curb making the right turn in. I got their new drink: Iced Dubai Chocolate Mocha with breve instead of the default 2%...my fault the combo is already making its way thru my system...ahem. read more

Matcha made in heaven... One of my first love on this part of the island I can't believe I never did a review! Though it's a block from Target this location is just so chill it's one of my favorite places for one there outlet here to recharge my phone and myself with my favored cup of Matcha Latte. Service here is friendly and efficient I always find parking though it can be tight as it shares stalls with several other tenants it's free and close with seating both inside and outside taking that much needed moment is so easy here. Island Grind: Level Expert Started my morning at Starbucks with the real MVP combo: a sausage, egg & cheddar sandwich and an iced Trenta coffee with two shots of espresso... because one just doesn't cut it when you're running on aloha and fumes. That sandwich? Golden, gooey, and ono enough to make me forget I skipped dinner last night. English muffin toasted like the trade winds kissed it just right. I was in Kailua for an event that was a few days long and needed by iced tea fix. I ordered ahead from this location as it was convenient and it ended up being a nice place to relax a little. It's at the corner of a busy intersection, but has a quiet feel. Dedicated free parking is right outside, and it seemed most people grabbed stuff to go. The inside of the store is typical; maybe a little larger with tables for one or two along the windows. They also have a bunch of tables along both sides of the location, but depending on time of day they'd be in the direct sun. The employees were friendly and efficient for a busy store. read more

I'm a frequent coffee drinker and work on my laptop on the road all day. Wanted to give Starbucks a shot at my business. They have the restrooms blocked off. Deal breaker. They refer customers to another restroom around the block. Not a big deal for me, but my wife is handicapped after a back injury and uses a walker. Long walks are difficult and painful for her. The staff was pleasant and friendly enough. But not so nice as to open their restroom for paying customers. If management is too lazy to maintain their restrooms, they might be too lazy to clean their food prep areas. Fortunately, there's a better alternative across the street: Morning Brew. Friendly, welcoming staff, restrooms accessible to paying customers. lots of seating, good Wifi, and better coffee, better food, better everything. So long, Starbucks. read more

Consistently gets my vanilla sweet cream cold brew wrong, unlike the other local Starbucks locations on the Windward side. Today, it was missing everything Vanilla, except for the cold foam on top. When I told the barista in charge, she "showed" me the cold foam as if that meant the coffee was made correctly. After she gave some attitude, she made me another one. Corrected review: I realized that this Starbucks is located on the corner of Kailua Road and Hahani Street, next to a shop named Mahina. Enter the parking lot from Hahani Street. The Starbucks inside of Target in Kailua is on the same block - across the street and down on the corner! Wow! So close! It makes hunting for collectable Starbucks tumblers more convenient! Haha! Yes - after work, I drove over to Kailua and searched both Starbucks for the black studded tumbler. Shucks - it's not here yet. It was released two weeks ago and are supposed to be restocked soon... I'll probably return next week and look again. This Starbucks is a bit smaller than others, but it's still clean and has great customer service as always! P.S. Great location, right in the center of town with off street parking available. The place is clean an COVID safe. They have tables outside so you have a place to relax, and people watch . The staff was polite and efficient. Like all Starbucks, they gave the dog a free pup a chino. read more

Unfortunately, this location is not as good as the many others nearby. I specifically came here to use the restroom, and purchased a few drinks in order to do so. Was informed they don't have a bathroom (they do - it's now for employees only). They told me the nearest bathroom is by down to earth. You may need to wander around a bit to find it. Not ideal. The staff seemed a little rude and irritated when I asked if a drink could be made without caffeine. I was simply told no, that was not how the drink was made and offered no alternatives or recommendations. I would have liked to know what else they could offer, but they seemed over it so I didn't ask. The whipped cream on one of the drinks was clearly old, (my friend threw theirs away without finishing it), and we had such a hard time locating straws or other misc things (napkins, etc). Why are we hiding these things? The meh service, meh drinks, tight parking and no bathroom makes me realize why I don't go here anymore. read more

I usually enjoy coming to this Starbucks. The drinks are usually good and the staff friendly. However today's Barista was very judgmental when I asked for more half & half than what she gave me. Not only she mocked "more?" When I asked she also asked me if I was going to dump coffee in the trash. As I proceeded to tell her "no I never dump coffee". I don't appreciate being questioned. Not sure if it was just an off day or what, but the experience at this store was just unpleasant. Came in on Saturday just before 11. The store was pretty busy - a lot of people picking up mobile orders, as well as a short line to order in store. Let me first say, the setup of the store is nice. There are signs and arrows on the ground to direct you where to stand depending on whether you are ordering in store or picking up your mobile order. There are plastic dividers set up between customers and employees both at the register and pickup area. There is enough space where you can wait for your order with at least 6 feet of distance away from others. Our experience with the staff was another story. The guy that took our order seemed to be in a bad mood or something. It really felt like he did not want to be there, and that we were inconveniencing him by ordering drinks. The drinks came out pretty quickly so that was nice. But when we went back up to the counter to ask for a packet of sweetener (we would usually make customizations to the drink to our liking but did not want to bother with the moody guy at the register), the woman making drinks ignored us for a while. I understand they were busy, but we made eye contact and she immediately looked away and started doing something else. Eventually someone else was able to get us the sweetener, but it just was not a very pleasant experience at all. read more

Sometimes I even circle back after finishing my iced mocha and before heading to the beach to use the restroom and they always give me the code without even the slightest hesitation. The stars are not for the employees that worked this morning but rather the CS employee Luis that helped rectify a situation this morning. Anywho, basically what Kate E said was true. This morning's crew was not in a jolly mood, which is understandable but unfortunate. Mornings can be hard especially with some rude old men barking orders. Still not a reason to keep the rudeness to pass it onto others. Naturally I would have said something but I would hope that Starbucks have enough confidence to turn away bad business, when employees are being disrespected unprovoked. Tip for everyone: Bathroom is no longer available for public use at this Kailua town Starbucks. Lau Hala shops lobby bathrooms are opened for public use. You can walk through Down to Earth makai side to access it or the lobby door by Goen Restaurant & Down to Earth mauka side. Food & coffee was good. As I was picking up my drinks on mobile order side- out of the 3 drinks; there was an empty cup with the ticket of the drink I wanted: crème brûlée frappucino. I looked it at with a curious face bc most times the employees would've just told me, instead of bothering with an empty cup. Out of nowhere, most likely same girl as Kate mentioned; I was lectured by her with a dead pan face this morning on how a seasonal coffee drink I ordered is not available at their store (despite me ordering it on the Starbucks mobile app) & she asked what drink I wanted. She made it seem like it was my fault for ordering it. I didn't know it was seasonal- the app updates what's out of stock or not. And I used the app. I said "Oh okay mocha frappe is fine". She snaps back "okay, mocha hot, iced mocha, like what kind of mocha" with a serious tone. Keep in mind- she was Not the barista that was dealing with 3 older men snapping at her about their in store takeout orders. She didn't even say a word to them while I was there for 10 minutes. Anyways, I kept my cool since it's the early morning. They didn't bother checking whether the drink I wanted was different pricing or not so I emailed the CS line letting them know about my wonderful morning. This store has unique items that I haven Sen before. Great place to get those rare items. The shelves still holds the usual island wide merchandise. It's Starbucks, what's so exciting about it? We're in Kailua, one of the most upscale neighborhoods in the area. But the folks here are friendly and simply oozes with Hawaiian spirit. I don't get that from the corner Starbucks at home! I love that I can consistently get my pineapple black tea infusion drink, even in Hawaii. We sit outside and enjoy the early morning activity around us: kids eating breakfast while parents read the paper, locals picking up a cuppa Joe with their dogs in tow, and us, the occasional tourists who just need a piece of home. We've spent quite a * few * dollars here since things are a bit pricier in the islands even for a chain like this. But the outdoor seating and guaranteed sunshine more than make up for it. read more

So based on a lot of other reviews, custom made drinks are supposed to be fast.... I grew up going to this Starbucks and have never really had a problem. Maybe people think it seems slow since they service most of Kailua. Our other location in Enchanted Lake really only services those in E-lake, Keolu and those driving through. Which isn't much really. Like all those Starbucks they have a clean restroom, free wi-fi, plenty of outlets and a Jamba next door lol. But one of the few that still have comfortable seating. They still have couches that you will find hipsters and college students alike lounging around for hours. I will agree that sometime the cashiers/baristas have a little bit of a chip on their shoulder, and act annoyed if you don't order your drink the way they would say it but c'est la vie. I came in to grab an early-morning hot chocolate before a long day and was happy to see that it wasn't busy. I figured I could get in and out in just a moment to find parking for the day before the Saturday-morning shoppers filled the streets. Unfortunately, I had to wait about two extra minutes while the cashier had a conversation about the spelling of her name/her daughter's name with the only other customer in line. I'm not sure if she didn't see me (I mean, I'm right there) or if she felt like the unique spelling of her name was that important that she just had to share it while I waited. I get that this was just a minor inconvenience, but I wish I would have used mobile ordering to avoid the gabbing. However, once I finally ordered, I didn't have a problem getting the hot chocolate just the way I like it. The other barista made my drink quickly and it was the perfect temperature to start sipping away. I've been to this location before and I've been pretty happy in previous visits, so I'll average out some stars to make up for the cashier delay. read more

The service is amazing at this location. Literally everyone who works here is an angel. Mojo, the curly headed cutie who calls everyone "love bug", makes my day that much better with how she greets me and compliments me each time I walk in. They are all truly the reason why I only go to this location. I've seen them treat a homeless man with the same amount of respect and kindness as they would anyone else, and even remembered his order, and that is why I'm taking the time to write this review. This is a nice Starbucks coffee shop with plenty of comfortable seating (by Kailua or Waikiki standards) and great free wifi. The big long table outside is great for planning your daily group activity in Kailua while sipping your favorite expresso coffee. Clean bathroom is also available inside. read more

It's interesting how each Starbucks has its own personality. This was my first visit to this location and I was pleasantly surprised!! Unfortunately Starbucks has decided to discontinue the Mango syrup :( but fortunately for me the Kailua location still has some in stock!! The merchandise at this location is very unique and they have items that I've never seen before. The staff is extremely friendly and they handle crowds very well. They have minimal indoor seating at this location so it's probably not the best location to do homework or work. The best thing about this location is the staff! Keep up the great work! A decent Starbucks experience, especially considering the hustle and bustle all around. Parking is tight, and a bit limited at that, so plan accordingly or go on foot. I was impressed with how efficiently they took and serviced orders given how very busy they appeared.
