It's 10/25/25 (a typical Saturday night) and it's Kaneohe Baskin-Robbins and there are families out as well as young couples wanting to partake in some great ice cream. We go into this local favorite and there is a line at least 8 deep already. As we stand there, 8 more groups come in after us. Behind the counter, one lone employee. He's young. Mid-twenties. One would expect him like any other But that was far from the case. Wesley had a GREAT attitude. Greeted everyone with a smile and really showed that he enjoyed his job. Yes, it would have been easy for him to have a crappy attitude and who would blame him? Nope. The owner of this store NEEDS to give him a raise. I love the service and quality of the products at this location. This was the first time I ordered an Easter decorated cake. I ordered the Jamoca with chocolate cake it for a pre-paid pick up in their 24 hour turnaround time. It was delicious and so nicely decorated. There was a very large layer of ice cream and equally large layer of chocolate cake. I noticed there are now 1/8th sheet cakes in the display cooler. I bring my kids here all the time they treat all their customers with so much Aloha! They don't mind giving out samples and accommodating to your requests. They are generous with what they serve and love what they do there! My kids always ask to come to this spot because of how they are treated there one time my son dropped his ice cream they seen it and without even asking they served him a brand new cone! Today I got the cookie dough layered sunday. It is very high in calories, but today is my cheat day. Cookie dough pieces are my favorite part of the baskin ice cream, and this feeling like it's half extra dough ball pieces makes it very good to me. The added caramel drizzle is nice too. Service is always fast for me, but I tend to go before or after the post dinner rush, so the two people on staff are able to help me quickly. It was a hot day here and I was craving some ice cream. I ended up treating hubby and daughter to whatever they wanted. I decided on getting two scoops of the Reese's pieces ice cream. I got two scoops in a regular cone. This was so good. I wanted to treat myself since I worked so hard at work today and I ended up burning up my calories later. It's perfect to eat ice cream on a hot day. The ice cream had pieces of chocolate and peanut butter inside. The cone was a little stale. I still ended up eating it anyway. It's pretty spacious inside to have around 10 people inside. My daughter got one scoop of jamocha in a waffle cone. She managed to finish it. Her dad also got her a large mangoenada. I SCREAM. You SCREAM. We all SCREAM for ice cream!!! You just gotta love Baskin and Robbins (BR) $1.31 per scoop special that is offered at ALL locations on the 31st day of the month. Although I'm a townie I've been spending a lot of time in Kaneohe so this location in Windward Shopping Center is quite convenient. It's located just next to McDonald's so it's easy to find with lots of shared parking. Compared to some other BR locations I found this store to be larger with several tables and chairs if you decide to dine-in. Just the other day I saw a fellow Yeep's ice cream pic posted on Yelp that made me want to SCREAM. I reached out asking if they had MATCHA (green tea) available and when I found out they had it I stopped by for an afternoon Scooby Snack. My previous attempts for green tea on $1.31 days have resulted in disappointment as they (Kamehameha Shopping Center location, which is closer to my home) ran out multiple times. I found the staff here at Windward Shopping Center more attentive as the staff acknowledged my presence as I walked in, rather than chatting with fellow employees or preoccupied with their cell phones at my previous encounters at other locations. Management at this location is doing their job. With the tip that green tea was in stock I ordered a double scoop and I was so happy. The ice cream was rich and creamy. It had an "adult" taste of a slight bitterness and found bits of actual green tea leaves. To me the scoops seemed smaller than usual but it's hard to complain at $1.31 per scoop. A customer before me was with her young son and unfortunately his ice cream fell off the cone. The mother asked for extra napkins but the staff advised her to leave it there as they'll clean up. It was nice to witness great customer service. Overall I've had great experiences here. Large selection of ice cream flavors and products with attentive staff will result in a great time here. I'm so glad we have a B&R in our neighborhood. It's a great place to take the boys when they are deserving of a treat. It's never crowded, it's always clean, there are always open tables and chairs, and at $3 for a kiddie scoop, it won't break my bank. The workers here are friendly and accommodating (they were happy to give us an extra bowl so that my boys could share their scoop of ice cream). Thanks to Kim S.'s posting in the "Events" section of Yelp Honolulu, I found out about Baskin-Robbins' $1.31 Scoop Day! One scoop is regularly $3.19, but on the 31st of every month in 2015, ice cream is just $1.31. I had to check it out! Luckily, there is a convenient location in Kaneohe. In the Windward City Shopping Center - across from McDonald's and almost right next to Ross, the pink and blue logo of Baskin-Robbins welcomes everyone! With free parking and great air conditioning, this is a real treat on a hot summer day! The interior is bright, clean and festive with cute decorations! The workers were so friendly and helpful! They approached me as I was scanning all of the flavors, trying to narrow down my selection. They offered me samples, but I just wanted to jump in and "chance 'em"! Greek Sunset sounded different, but not too weird, so I had that peach/mango/orange scoop in a sugar come - YUM! Then, I topped it off with another cone: Pineapple Coconut, but it was a lower sugar content... awwww.... but I was full and happy, so I continued my day with a satisfied tummy... Note: I was worried about a crowd, but I got there at a good time: before school let out!! Plus, the shop was prepared with 4 employees! Good planning! I'm not going to lie and say I'm not a fan of this place, because I am! I think Baskin-Robbins has seriously been looked over. I also think this location in particular is pretty great. I've always had great experiences. A couple of praises.. The workers have been really nice, and very open. They don't mind your sampling, and actually sometimes encourage you to sample before you buy. I'm always encouraged to try the Flavor of the Month when I walk in. I think that's really great! Speaking of Flavor of the Month, I love that Baskin-Robbins has this! Not all places take the time to find and incorporate more flavors in their selection, but Baskin-Robbins does! They're actually pretty interesting too. Oreo n' Cake and Dunkin' Donuts Coffee N' Donut are two of their more recent flavors of the month, to name a few. I also love that you can get cakes from Baskin-Robbins, along with shakes, malts, and sundaes. They're usually open until 10pm, which is an advantage of not being in a mall. Sometimes some of the workers, the older ones usually, give smaller scoops than the other workers. It depends on who's working when you're there, but this isn't really anything anyone can fix. I also don't really care for the location of this Baskin-Robbins, however I do like that it's outside. All in all, a great place for a scoop of ice cream. I'm definitely going to be back! I'm the duchess, after all! (for now, at least!) Btw, I highly recommend trying the Oreo n' Cake flavor if it's still there. I love it! Now I LOVE ice cream and have had my fair share over the years. My absolute favorite is Rocky Road and a close runner up is Jamoca Almond Fudge!! I have come to this location twice in the last 2 months and have been very disappointed with the Rocky Road. The flavor just isn't what I remember from years past. I thought the first time may have been a fluke but when the second was the same... ugh! I would prefer to get a store bought carton over Baskin Robbins one. The past few times i've been here the a/c has been broken...it's a bit odd to walk into an ice cream shop that is warm. At first I figured they were trying to get people in the mood to eat ice cream but finally I asked and the girl behind the counter informed me the temperature was not intentional. So I came here after working out at 24 Hour Fitness recently, since I needed something to take the edge off and found Baskin-Robbins here at the Windward City shopping center. It's pretty cool to be taking a day trip out here on a beautiful Saturday morning. The store itself is kind of big, but not too big. It's what you'd expect from a Baskin-Robbins store - or any typical ice cream parlor in fact. The kid who serviced me was probably still in high school or in college. She gave me good service and that was cool. Only gripe I have was that the sign on the board said large cup was $3.19 and I thought it would be under $3.50, until I saw the total was close to $6.00. Ugh. That bites, but I guess this is my first lesson. I suck at life when this comes up. I should've asked first instead of assuming that price was for the large one. FML. The flavor I ended up getting was the 3 point chocolate. It wasn't anything special. Just dark chocolate with some peanut butter M&M's lodged in it. This was $6.00?? You gotta be kidding me. The parking situation is pretty good, since it is sitting in Windward City Shopping Center. The store itself is clean, so its not like I can fault them for that. Finally got to visit the newly renovated shop. Brand new flooring, new tables and chairs, and new ice cream cabinets. It is very clean and much more appealing than the old set up. It was a busy Saturday night and there were two employees working. The line was constant but the wait wasn't bad at all. The employees knew what they were doing and worked quickly to get orders made. This store offers sugar cones and regular cones dipped in chocolate and sprinkles. This seemed to be popular with the young kids. They also have a special where you get a free waffle cone with any double or triple scoop of ice cream. They have a large freezer with ready to go cakes and pies, as well as prepacked quarts. They usually have a wide variety of sizes and flavors of cakes and will even write a message on it for you. On the 31st of each month, single scoops of ice cream are $1.70- it used to be $1.31 but I guess not even ice cream is exempt from inflation. read more
