My husband and I never had them until we booked a reservation for Manoa Chocolate's factory tour at this location during our local honeymoon six years ago, days before the pandemic started, when the factory tour used to be held here. My husband and I sampled a few chocolate pieces while our tour guide showed us Manoa Chocolate's cacao harvesting and chocolate-making process. We learned that those mainstream confectioners use fillers in their chocolate bars and lists sugar as their first ingredient! Since then, my husband and I have had Manoa Chocolate's monthly subscriptions at least on two different occasions, including today! A monthly subscription costs $25 for 3 bars--1 limited edition bar and 2 bars from their permanent menu; a better deal than buying individual bars! The subscription has better value the longer the subscription is. I love the variety of milk and dark chocolate bars. We've also ordered a bag of cacao brew and have mixed it with freshly ground coffee for a hot brew. If you love getting ice cream from Sage Creamery, their chocolate ice creams are made with Manoa Chocolate!

I'm sharing this feedback because if smaller portions or keiki sizes were available (we were with a child), we would have happily purchased three orders. This last visit to Via I got a pint of the Fire Horse Gau, three Rum n Raisin sandwich cookies, and a double scoop. I went a little overboard, I think... The matcha is outstanding. I will definitely return for this. The gau flavor is interesting; I'm glad I got to try it but I don't think I'd get it again next year if it's available. I LOVE rum and raisin ice cream and I love oatmeal cookies. Even though I wasn't wowed by the combo, all three sandwiches were gone in no time at all. Online ordering and delivery is an option if you can't come in person!

When I met Yelp Elites Jackie and Donna last week, Jackie shared a place Donna took her to. I never knew the location of Cedar Street since I haven't been a townie in half a century. I looked up La Gelateria and we were a couple blocks away. Not sure if you're actually supposed to buy retail here but the head employee was so kind enough to stop what he was doing and went over the many flavors in the refrigerated display coolers. They have dairy free too. Hubs tried the man's favorite Mac nut and I chose Kona coffee. You can order on line. It looks like a production kitchen in the back with freezers upfront labeled with the contents. $2.50 per tiny cup. They have larger sizes too but we just had lunch. Creamy, delicious, hits the spot.

I went in blindly after a friend suggested this place but I had no idea how many different flavors they had. It's cash only at the store but you can order online to pay with card and they'll get your order ready right away. They have a convenient online order system that is super easy to navigate so the pints added up quickly! My personal favorites are currently black sesame, strawberry lemonade (super tart, which I love) and Kona coffee. My friends loved earl grey, pistachio, and ume guava.

Literally as I stumbled upon Miya Bowl on their second day of service though I didn't have açai bowl on my mind I think considering how hot it's been getting this discovery was just meant to be. Located in Wahiawa on Kilani Ave right beside Teapresso it great that this biz share parking with other tenants as well so there no need to search and it was an easy stop for a quick pick up. The shop is very cute and cozy though there was still a lot of construction going on for some finishing touches they didn't have any seating but a small counter/bar along the window but no space since it's filled with various equipments. With that they don't have a menu yet either just currently serving their açai bowl which comes with a sorbet base that you can switch off on different flavors is a nice option for those that may have preference or allergies as well I got the small and it was just the perfect size and did cool me off with each refreshing bite. When we finally ordered, two items were made correctly, but one person in our group ordered dragonfruit gelato. The employee started scooping strawberry instead, and even after we politely pointed it out, there was no acknowledgment or apology--just silence. It made for a really uncomfortable interaction. While we were eating, the employee went into the back, and we could hear her loudly scrolling on social media with the volume on full blast, even laughing at times. Toward the end of our visit, she came back to the front, sat down, and continued on her phone. The entire atmosphere felt so awkward that we decided to leave and finish our gelato in our cars. Even as we walked out, there was no thank you, no goodbye--no acknowledgment at all. It was honestly disappointing. That said, the gelato itself is actually really good, and the interior of the shop is nice. That's the only reason I'd consider coming back. Unfortunately, the service really brought the experience down. Proper customer service training is definitely needed.
