I wanted so bad to like this place because it's super cute and the reviews says so! But unfortunately it did not live up to what others were saying. The wait was a bit long for my açaí bowl and it was pretty pricey for what I got! I was hoping to devour it with my son but that wasn't the case. My son loves his açaí bowl And he only took one spoon! That's very unlikely so I had to taste it to see why. I was already sad on how small it was for almost $20! And when I tasted it, it wasn't even sweet! I tried to force it on him and I eventually threw away the entire thing! Sigh.... But the place is super cute. Lots of choices. The staff is a bit slow.... Maybe too chill? I don't know. Won't be back.

Such a beautiful ambiance if you are on the east side of the island. We were lucky enough to get a beautiful day when we visited. I noticed the long line and decided to order ahead while we found our seats. Turns out they place your food outside near the front instead of calling your name when it's done so make sure to check the table outside. I got the eggs caprese, açaí bowl, and spinach salad. The view was beautiful and thankfully we got seats up near the shade which have a really nice view of the water. Opening seating and some areas better for groups than other. Lots of dogs were with their owners eating and my kids trying to pet them all. Such a unique pretty spot. We pretty much served ourselves and cleaned up afterwards. They were busy the entire time we were there.

Vibe good. Quite. Good place to study or eat. Only tried the kukui latte, which was okay. I would say island vintage taste better. Location is great

Good service, super sweet staff and the coffee + desserts were actually so good. Breakfast was a little dry tbh, but the vibe is cute and I'd still come back again.

Delicious coffee!! We got regular hot coffee and cold brew. Plain or dressed up, it was delicious. Extremely kind staff.

My husband and I found this Island Brew location on our way to go hiking. The line was out the door, so we knew it was going to be good. I had the Ehu Kai cold brew, and it was fantastic. I wish I could've drank several of them!! My husband also enjoyed his peppermint mocha. For food, I ordered the veggie pesto toast and added bacon. It was excellent - a simple combination, but I loved every bite. My husband had a breakfast sandwich and enjoyed it as well. We loved the outdoor seating area (especially the beanbags!) and getting to sit along the water.

My old hang out spot - 30 years later! A great view of the marina, a great selection of food and drinks, and great service.

They have amazing drinks, a beautiful view and so many tables outside to sit and study or just look at the water. The servers are always nice too! We had a sandwich before and it was tasty even though it was a little pricey. I got banana matcha and it was the perfect sweetness and worth the price. We definitely will come back!

Love love this place! The laid back, spacious environment makes this the perfect location to work. The wifi here is stable, there's a nearby bathroom, plenty of parking, and outlets. Pro tip, if you enjoy strawberry matcha, I'd recommend ordering a matcha latte with strawberry puree. Another pro tip, beware of the friendly birds here lol.

The tables are big enough to accomodate a portable video game system .

I'm giving this a 5 star. It all worked well . I walk in the store . It's quiet. Then I'm greeted by Cory who was working in the front, we talk a little. From what I was told , she's seen my reviews . The mystery is solved she knows who I am in person . Cutting to the chase., I order my drink. The usual. An iced coffee . Andrea walks in and greets me . That was nice . So Cory handles the order gets my drink. She handled it well. Quick . She did good.

Cute and great view of the marina. Decent service, line can get long when busy. Lots of food and drink options. Li hing lemonade was very good. Bathroom across the walkway (by f45). Parking in the shopping center. A few tables inside, most are outside. Can get hot if outside even with the umbrella tables. Wifi is spotty imo, but nice to study if you want fresh air.

I came here to get a BBL. (Banana bread latte) this place is soooo cute. I love the vibes here. The area to relax is super calm and relaxing because they have couches to sit on inside AND outside. They even have a hammock to relax on. That's not it. The outside has a view of the pier. Super cute. The workers are super friendly and nice. They have food, snacks, baked goods, coffee and teas. So so good!

I tried Island Brew Coffeehouse's matcha beverages on my last two visits. Both drinks were excellent. The Blue Hibiscus and Strawberry Dream Match drinks were a nice balance of creaminess, sweetness and quality matcha flavor. These matcha beverages are comparable to several of the fine establishments in urban Honolulu - of which IBC is one in Ala Moana Center...one of three locations. Dining area indoors and outdoors is a mix-n-match of your Grannie meets my Grandma at the nexus point of dementia and 60's/70's Hippie decor. Not bad but overwhelming...to me. F45 ( for the single guys ) is next door ...so lots of attractive female customers. Also, CJJF Hawaii Kai is right across from Island Brew...so some of the female customers are liable to lock and throw you into the marina, if you get out of line. Owner of CJJF is super nice and well spoken. A fair amount of tourists make up the patronage as water activity rental businesses reside in the Hawaii Kai Shopping Center. Parking...it's in a shopping center...lots of good sized stalls.

Over the years I've noticed the staff has become so much nicer and welcoming which is what I think of when I think of the Aloha spirit. Today I encountered a simple smile from the barista when I asked for extra half and half. She was very kind and sweet and sometimes that's all it takes. Keep in mind they are extremely busy with a line outside so to still offer good customer service in the middle of all that is gold. I always put my order in through the toast app and pick up to go. By the time my drink is ready my açaí bowl is melted. Today I decided to bring it up to the staff and encountered my lovely Lucille. She took my açaí bowl and put it in her freezer and gave me direction to put a note on my order to not prep the açaí bowl till I get there. That was very helpful! I'm happy not to have açaí soup anymore! Haha! But the best thing about it, she did it with a smile and it was genuine. You know when you just feel someone has a good soul..yeah, I felt that. Her demeanor was no different than how a family member would treat you. When she handed my açaí bowl back, she placed a napkin underneath it so the warmth of my hand wouldn't melt the bowl further...and the cherry on top was that I literally had the absolute BEST açaí bowl I've ever had made by Lucille. No joke! Sometimes there is too much granola, or too little fruit, but she made it with the perfect balance with each ingredient. She spoiled me and now I always want my açaí bowls to be made by Lucille! Lmao. I've been going through some tough times and I hope she knows (along with the taller young barista who offered me the half and half) that they both made my day a little brighter. See you in a couple days when I'm back! lol I swear I spend all my money every month at Island Vintage! The best of the best! I wish I took a photo of her beautiful creation but I got it down way too quick! :( Order the açaí bowl with Haupia cream and the Mona Kea iced coffee with macadamia nut, salted caramel and lava salt. You won't regret it! And you won't have to wait in line if you order from the toast local app if getting it to go! You're welcome:)

Kyoto Style Cold Brew. That's all needs to be said…read more My first introduction to Aloha Bakehouse & Cafe was at the Made in Hawaii Festival where I sampled its amazing tasting coffee. Found out that there are three locations in Kaka'ako, Downtown, and this one in Kaimuki. It's located at the corner of Waialae and 8th Avenue, across from The Curb and Kaimuki Auto Repair. Only metered parking along Waialae or street parking on the perpendicular streets. Inside was spacious and had an industrial feel with its concrete floor, metal chairs, metal racks, and with actual renovations in process in the rear of the space. Menu is floor level (sorry tall people!). There's a variety of coffee, tea, lemonade, blended drinks, smoothies, sandwiches, salads, its special Aloha Bread, and etc. There's a lot to read! There are multiple choices of bread for sandwiches (special bread shown next to the register. Be sure to check!). Needless to say, I took a long time to decide! The Breakfast Sandwich came with egg, bacon, ham, and American cheese. Chose the croissant, which was the smaller size variety. This was good with a generous amount of egg and bacon. It was a hearty sandwich. The Tuna Sandwich on Everything Bagel was good. Nice crisp on the bagel. A decent simple sandwich with fresh ingredients. I would have preferred more mayo and the canned tuna to have flavor. Regular brewed coffee was very good. Brewed very well with solid coffee flavor. Exactly the flavor I remembered when I first tried it. The star was the Kyoto Style Cold Brew. It was smooth, clean, bright, and strong. The flavor maintained throughout--even with the ice cubes melted in. Overall, a decent experience. The sandwiches were good. Coffee was excellent. Friendly service. Can't wait to come back to try more things and get more Kyoto style cold brew!
