The Black Sesame scone is good!

I love that Bits & Bites has moved to Hawaii Kai. Their previous location in Kailua was out of the way for me. The new shop, across Costco, is everyday convenient. These scones are nice sized. The exterior is firm and crumbles slowly, and most of them have a pretty piped glaze. The inside is moist without being wet. I can enjoy these with a warm or cold beverage - and yes, scones are better enjoyed with a beverage. If you want to give someone a nice morning surprise, Bits & Bites Cafe is open at 7:00am. And they have a box that will hold 4-6 scones. A little something for everyone.

Awesome service. Love that she makes things pure and simple, healthy for her family. Flavors are wonderful! So wonderful that I can never choose just 1 or a few. I always walk out with way too many scones. The drinks are excellent too. My fav is her savory scones.

Stumbled across while heading to Costco. They are directly across the parking lot of Costco. Lots of parking. A very small hole in the mall (wall) haha. Scones were good. Cheese cake was also good. Maybe I'm not a big scone and cheesecake fan but I (and this is just me) thought is was kinda dry. I guess all scones are generally dry. My coffee drink was amazing tho. I finished the coffee before I could finish the scones and cheese cake. The service was great. They were very helpful and patient to explain all the flavors they had. Mahalo Bits & Bites Cafe

Scones are probably one of my fave things, so couldn't resist checking this place out. Arrived at around 9:30am on Sunday and some items were already sold out. Started off with an iced Tiramisu latte - yum! We were just going to order a couple of scones but ended up with a box of 6 because we wanted to try so many of them. Ordered lilikoi cream cheese, guava cream cheese, jalapeño cheddar, earl grey, matcha white chocolate and coconut. All of the favors came through for each of them but my faves were the guava cream cheese and coconut. Kiddo's was the earl grey and hubs liked the jalapeño cheddar. The owner was friendly. So many other things we wanted to try like the cheesecake and frozen bites. We'll be back to try more.

Always worth the drive but remember to go early because she sells out fast! Our favorites are Lilikoi cram cheese, chocolate chip and blueberry. She also makes great coffee and lilikoi soda

This place is a small shop we were directed to almost immediately after arriving in Hawaii! These scones are AWESOME-- great texture and flavor, and boy are they popular! They sell out of some flavors as early as 8am sometimes, so we hauled ourselves here twice as early as possible to get scones of all flavors for everyone! Choc chip is very popular amongst my family. Others we ordered twice/really liked and would get again: banana choc chip, black sesame, ube, blueberry, & lemon. I've also heard the lilikoi is amazing! The service was prompt and all the scones were handled carefully so we could tell everything apart when we got back. I do think it's a steep price: $5.95/scone is a lot, but it IS hawaii, so I can't be too surprised ‍

The first time we had the basque cheesecake (guava), I split one with my husband, who's not much of a sweets person. He ate his half and was just staring at my half that I hadn't eaten yet. "Was it ok?" I asked. "Might have been the best cheesecake I've ever had," he grumbled. Welp, now we're back for more. All loaded up, and we are NOT sharing The ube cheesecake is soooo good (maybe call ahead for availability)...that crusty top is incredible. The owner is super nice!! They also make great japanese-style cheesecake and scones (calamansi and "abomination" Halloween scone freebie in the pic). This spot will definitely be in our treat rotation!

The owner is so sweet and took the time to tell us about her business! Everything is handmade and organic which I really appreciate, which is why you know it is fresh. She really makes it a point to use good ingredients in the process of creating her pastries and you can really tell when you try them. The scones were one of the best I've had. The Kona Coffee one in particular was delicious and somehow I was able to get the last one. Perfect ratio of crunch and softness. The lilikoi soda was amazing and is one of her highlight drinks from her shop. This was super refreshing and I loved it. The puree she uses is fresh from the fruit. The cheesecake was also a winner. Definitely a must-visit place if you are ever in the area in Hawaii Kai.

It's a quaint little place. Coffee good, Scones good, Cheesecake good. Should I say more? The service was fantastic. I literally felt like I went into my moms or grandmas kitchen and got food. You can tell everything is made with LOVE. I would have posted pictures of the coffee, scones and everything else but it was gone so fast that I didn't have enough time to snap a pic. Sending all my love and I'll be back!

Such a cute little shop and nice owner. Came here a couple times. Scones are so delicious, not too sweet and not dry. So many different flavors and options to choose from, they have sweet and savory. Scones are about $5 Just needs working on their lattes. We got a Hawaiian honey latte and a tirimisu latte. The tirimisu latte was good with a cheese foam. The Hawaiian honey latte was made in an interesting order, where the honey was first followed by ice and cold milk the the espresso. This caused the honey to get hard and not dissolve in the latte. Since it was just a plain latte on the first sip you could kind of taste a little burnt on the espresso. Once the ice melted and the honey was able to stir and mix it was really light on honey flavor. Mixed the drinks together because the Hawaiian honey latte just wasn't good. Lattes were about $7 each. Not sure if wed order drinks but Definitely will come back for the scones.

Honestly- I'm a coffee snob and Bits & Bites is THE BEST coffee you can get on this side of the island. Jessica is also such a joy and pleasure to chat with every morning. I've gotten to know her just from being such a regular since discovering her unreal coffee, and am so grateful for her small business moving to Hawaii Kai from Kailua! Her scones are also insanely delicious ( I'd order them more if I weren't trying to behave with my diet c(: ) ...but they've been such a perfect option to bring to gatherings and special occasions. The variety and quality she puts into everything is unmatched. Thank you Jessica and the Bits & Bites team for all you do to make us happy!

Bits & Bites Cafe is situated in the Hawaii Kai Towne Centre across from the Costco Food Court. I believe they were originally located in Kailua. They specialize in scones - also providing cakes and coffee beverages. Now, there are a surprising number of bakeries/cafes that offer excellent scones and this is another establishment that I can add to my scone short list. Scones aren't everyone's preference as they're dense and can be a bit dry. At Bits & Bites, the scones are dense, as per usual, but not dry - at least they weren't too dry to my palate. They offer savory scones as well. I tried the Ghost Pepper & Shiitake scone. The owner assured me it was not too hot; she uses one per batch (of 20) and they were fantastic. She may want to put two ghost peppers in a batch, not sure if I wanna give that feedback Lilikoi Scone was also very good. Traditional scones so it may not be for everyone.

Stopped by this cute cafe after a visit to Costco Hawaii Kai. The name caught my attention. At first I thought it was a cafe for coffee and snacks. I walked in and the owner/baker Jessica greeted me with a smile. This place sells scones and cheesecake. Beverages are also available. I asked Jessica what scone would she recommend and she quickly replied, the Lilikoi scone. The scone costs $5.50 plus tax. It's moist and flavorful. The Lilikoi flavor is not overpowering and just right. The texture is great and it's not dry like some scones I've had before. The price point is a bit expensive. Maybe a once in a while treat?

Beef Sukiyaki Combo = ONO ----- My aunty recommended Heavenly a while ago but whenever we decided to try it there was always no reservations available. Well, we were finally able to lock in a res for brunch on a Saturday before a Costco run. I would definitely recommend making a reservation. The restaurant was pretty busy when we visited and there was a wait at the door. Heavenly is located in the Koko Marina shopping center. There's lots of parking available. The ambiance is great and there is a fantastic view of the surrounding water. The seating is super comfy and casual with sofa-style chairs to sit in. Heavenly has a very eclectic menu. A large portion of the menu is dedicated to breakfast offerings, but there is also a very sizable selection of Japanese dishes. I wasn't craving anything for breakfast, so I opted for the Beef Sukiyaki Combo, which came with a hefty portion of beef sukiyaki, rice, a soft-poached egg, and miso soup. This really hit the spot. Everything was delicious. If you like gyudons, you should definitely consider the beef sukiyaki here. My wife ordered the loco moco and subbed in a falafel patty. I was expecting the patty to be hard and/or dry, but it was utterly perfect! It was crispy on the outside but soft and fluffy on the inside. And it paired so well with the gravy, egg, and rice. I would highly recommend this dish as well. We ordered an acai bowl for my young daughter, which was also great. This is our new brunch spot on the east side!

I've been coming to this café in Kaimuki since i discovered it in February --49 visits to be…read moreexact--because I genuinely loved it. The coffee is amazing, easily one of the best roasts I've had on the island, and the small outdoor seating area gives it a cozy, tucked-away vibe. It became one of my go-to spots to study, read, and bring friends (especially coworkers from another café) because I wanted them to experience how good it is. What made it special to me, though, was the staff. There's a duo that works there who remembered my order after just the first week. It's not like my order was complicated--just an iced mocha with oat milk, a little extra sweet--but that small gesture made me feel genuinely welcomed and seen every time I came in. That's why this experience was so disappointing... About two weeks ago, a friend and I were sitting outside and had hit a vape. We were told no smoking, and we immediately apologized and left within a few minutes--no issue there, completely understandable. Fast forward to today: I was sitting outside again near closing time, not really in the best headspace, and absentmindedly hit my vape, not remembering i was told not to. The owner, Oliver, pulled me aside and said an employee felt disrespected because I had previously been told no smoking and still did it again. I completely understood, took accountability, and apologized multiple times. I was then told to leave immediately and that I'm no longer welcome back. While I accept that my actions had consequences, what happened next made the situation feel extremely uncomfortable and honestly unsettling... About 15 minutes later, I had walked to the café where I work (which is nearby), and the same owner came in shortly after. He didn't order anything--instead, he stood there staring me down across the counter. The tension was noticeable enough that my coworker told me to step to the back. He then asked to speak to a manager, and when told the manager on duty was a woman, he specifically asked for the "boss." When told they weren't available, he left his number and left. The manager called him shortly after asking what she could do for him and he said nothing, he only wanted to speak to the boss. This felt excessive and inappropriate. Being asked to leave a business for breaking a rule is one thing--but following someone to their workplace and attempting to escalate things further crosses a line. I truly did love this café and supported it heavily, spending hundreds of dollars there, posting them on social media every week and recommending it to others. That's what makes this situation so disappointing. I take responsibility for my mistake, but the way this was handled afterward didn't feel respectful or professional. I feel soooooooo uncomfortable. Would've left more stars if I wasn't followed and stared down at in my workplace...?

My mom said not to drink coffee lest I become addicted to caffeine. I hope I do not go down that…read moreroot, but being a student tempts one into consuming caffeine like a madman. This is a great place to do work and meet friends, and also maybe get out of the rain while you wait for your bus. The drink options are unique, which is what I like to see for these fancy cafes that call themselves "coffeehouses". The team working here are young, probably UH students, which is to be expected. If you know me, I love sweets. Coffee is no exception. The Haupia latte is perfectly sweet, as it balances the bitterness of the coffee. The same could be said for the Hawaiian honey latte. I have a suspicion that I will be drinking all the sweet drinks from here. Let it only be for when I need energy and increased focus on an assignment. (Pray for me.)

Breakfast in Honolulu, Hawaii…read more.. The newest location of Island Brew Coffeehouse is on the ground level of the Charles Atherton House... look to the left when you enter the lobby. (It's on the corner of University Avenue and Metcalf Street.) Since metered street parking is free on a Sunday, I parked across the street (on Metcalf) where there's a row of stalls... easy! The friendly staff were pleasant and helpful! They answered all of my questions and made great suggestions! I ordered an Avocado Toast without spicy sauce... and a Kukui Latte with soy milk. I liked both! The toast had some garlic and butter flavoring on the multi-grain toast. It was simple, healthy, and filling! The Kukui Latte was sweetened just right! The macadamia and coconut flavors were tasty! This is a wonderful study/meeting/work spot that Irene discovered! It's spacious, clean, and bright! The restroom is modern, safe and comfortable! We'll be back!
