I just have to blow off some steam by writing this, and then hope this was an isolated experience. Usually, this location is pretty fast regardless of what time of day you go. Obviously, if it's really busy with a line of cars, you'd expect a little wait, but tonight was maddening. I placed my order (Junior Jumbo Jack, 2 tacos, and onion rings) thru the Jack app at 8:01pm, with a scheduled pickup time of 8:12pm; pretty normal. I live less than a mile away, so normally take my time to drive down and will get there in less than 10 minutes. I typically will just give them my name at the drive thru, and my order will be handed to me as soon as I get to the pickup window; in and out in less than a couple of minutes. Tonight, however, I got to the drive thru at 8:10pm and gave them my name. There were only 2 cars in front of me. It took 20 minutes for them to process the 2 cars and it was 8:30 when I pulled up to the window. There was only 1 employee working the front; servicing both the inside counter and the drive thru, with 1 other person in the kitchen. They were obviously, very shorthanded, but the person behind the counter appeared to have only 2 speeds; slow, and overwhelmed. It took her almost 10 minutes before she even came to the window because she was serving another customer at the inside counter. By the time I received my food, it was 8:42 (over 30 minutes from the time I got to the drive thru, and the originally scheduled pickup time). I actually called the number for the District Manager that was displayed on the sign at the window, but got a recorded message, and then hung up on. What the heck is going on with Jack's?? Wow in Hawaii and lo and behold Jack n the box is here! Yassss!! We immediately pressed the breaks and made a U-turn came back! So, the service was slow it's 7:56pm currently, but who cares! I went through the drive thru and had such a pleasant conversation with the employee at the window. I ordered 2 burgers since I had coupons I won in a fundraising auction. He inquired how I got them and I got to tell him about the donation and that I got them to use by the end of the year. We both agreed it was a great coupon since I could get any single menu item. My family loves the jack smash burgers. I like the loco moco burger but I just like the egg, rice and onion ring and then give the burgers to my parents. They were advertising Jack's Fan Fav's Deadpool Box $10, so I had to give it a try. In the box were Mini Chimi Bang Bangs, Curly Fries, Onion Rings and Churros. All four items featured in the box were good. The mini chimi bang bangs were different. You don't see that on their everyday menu. Most of us have had their curly fries and onion rings. The churros were definitely the best thing in the box. It was rolled in cinnamon sugar and had chocolate in the middle. I couldn't get enough of the churros. They were minis. I waited about 10 minutes for the box. Everything was fried to perfection. It came fresh out of the fryer. read more

Went today with the coupons that came in the Midweek. I ordered using 2 of the coupons and when I got to the window I was told that I could only use 1 coupon because I was 1 person despite the fact that I was ordering for my wife and myself. There was no where on the flyer from the Midweek that said 1 coupon per visit per person. I find this one lady it the only one that has tried to enforce this unstated rule. The service in the drive thru was good, although our diet and non diet drinks weren't labeled on the cup. The food was out quick. This was our first time trying Jack in the Box. Free coffee from T-Mobile Tuesdays and the Jack In The Box app... I needed dinner, so, why not go to Jack In The Box nearby (I was in Kailua) and get a free coffee, too? (I had to stay awake for a 6pm meeting). Parking was easy because there were no other cars in the free parking lot. Inside, there were no customers! Wow! I had ordered online to redeem the code for free coffee from the T-Mobile Tuesday app. I went to the cashier and told her that I had a mobile order. She muttered something and I guessed that they were still working on my order. Since I was waiting, I may as well use the restroom... I tried to open the door, but it was locked even though the sign above the door handle read, "VACANT". I told the cashier that I would like to use the restroom. The manager came out and handed me a key attached to a plastic jug. Haha! Ok! The seat cover dispenser was empty. The roll of tissue was on top of the tissue holder. Uh... I can handle this. I'm just observing and reporting... When I returned the key, my free coffee was on the counter. I asked for sugar and non-dairy creamer. I received three sugars and three Half and Half. I returned the Half and Half because it's not non-dairy. They said that that's all they have (Half and Half). I looked in the brown paper package. It contained utensils, napkins, and a package of grilled chicken. I asked where my salad was. The cashier said that she looked at the monitor and only saw "grilled chicken", so that's what I was given: Just grilled chicken. I said that I paid over $8 for a Grilled Chicken Salad - not just the chicken! The cashier discussed with the manager and eventually, I received a green salad with packets of Ranch dressing and croutons. When I looked at the grilled chicken, it was in a patty form. They told me that I was to cut my own chicken... That's why a plastic knife was given to me. The salad was ok. Some of the lettuce had brown edges. I tried not to eat the shredded cheese because I'm lactose intolerant. The tomatoes and cucumbers were fresh! The chicken was tender, moist, and seasoned appropriately. I think English is a second language for the cashier. She didn't really speak in complete sentences and I don't think we really understood each other. I had to come to conclusions by myself. I received their coupon mailer, wasn't too interested in the food items listed with coupons but wanted to try the new Smash Burgers and the Mint Chip shake. I looked on their website to see if the Hawaii stores had any different items on the menu then headed over to the drive-thru. Drive-thru took at bit as it was lunch time on a Sunday. But when I got up to the menu sign the smash burgers AND the mint shake were "temporarily out". Had to adjust my order and tried a munchies meal and prep cookie shake This location is often out of items that they feature but the burgers are always a solid choice as long as you are expecting a fast food burger and not some gourmet burger. Requesting a refund through the official website is pointless. We literally ordered shakes from the site and was told they were out of shakes by the time we got to the establishment. They couldn't refund us then and there and explained we would have to go to the official site to request for one. Well it's been almost 2 weeks, submitted 3 inquires about it and still have yet to hear back from someone. Disgusting and unacceptable service. We live in Kailua, so this is our only Jack in the Box option in a pinch, and the one we're forced to use for delivery orders. The staff are rude. They stare at you without saying a word for the entire transaction. Every other order they forget your items, forget your customizations or give you someone else's order entirely. Which sucks for delivery orders as there is no way to refund missing items on the official app. Anything with fried chicken (tenders, patties) is cooked/fried to within an inch of its life, so you end up with dark brown coating and dry, tough and chewy shriveled chicken. They constantly put cheese on items I ask for without cheese, which is incredibly dangerous as I have an allergy. And there seems to be no end in sight! Complaining to HQ gets you a survey page and maybe some coupons (thanks Jack in the Box, but coupons take me back here and don't address the actual issues or get me my money back) and complaining in person gets you rude stares, people laughing at you in the background and a thoroughly awkward experience, just to get your money back or your missing items. This is not an isolated incident. DO NOT EAT HERE! We live in Kailua and I can tell you firsthand, this has not changed or improved in months and the company seemingly is doing nothing about it. A pleasant experience in the wee hours of the morning. I am on shift work and get off around 3:30 AM. I decided to treat myself this morning as I headed home. I tell ya, the young man working the graveyard shift at the drive-thru was as pleasant, respectful, and friendly as can be - a professional, and just the kind of interaction I needed after my shift. Despite the hour, they didn't miss a beat with my order - one burger and one breakfast sandwich, and the young man at the drive-thru took the time to chat while I waited for my hot meal. The worst customer service of all time. I waited at the cash register that seemed like a lifetime.
