The manager needs to train their employees on how to do service with a smile, the lady at the register and the lady delivering the food both had the biggest frowns on their faces That's how you got a one star review by not smiling. It's more important than you think. read more

No issues but we were from out of town. So obvi only gonna come here once. Anyway no one is at the front desk, we used the kiosk, that's fine. Food was good and yeah WAY cheap compared to Chicagoland prices. SO no complaints. Clean place. I'd stop by again, if I am in the area. Probably not though. :) read more

Used the app to order our food. Both $5 meals. Since we were on our way to see a college track meet we didn't check inside the bag. The sauce for both order of nuggets was not in there. Therefore, it makes the nuggets not able to be eaten as both of us wanted our sauces. read more

Solid McDonalds choice with a divided seating area which helps to break up some of the noise in the restaurant. I liked the furniture choice and art here in general. Parking is fairly spacious here. The food was okay, not as hot as I would've preferred but the flavor itself was fine. Service was alright, though it wasn't super busy it did take a little bit of time to get served. read more

They refused to serve us 40 minutes before their close time. Even locked the doors. I'm hungry man!!!

My husband and I were traveling home from Iowa and stopped at McDonald's to take a break and get some food. We ordered from the kiosk. We used points and deals to get a ten piece chicken mcnuggets, quarter pounder with cheese, and a mocha frappe. We also ordered a cup of water that was not brought out with the rest of the food. When I went to get the cup, I had to wait in a line, and then the cashier had to go ask her manager a question before she could hand me a cup. The food was fine, but the service could use some work. read more

Stopped for breakfast while visiting in Galena, IL. It didn't look busy inside or at the drive-through. We decided to go in and order. The Cashier started over said he'd be back in a "millisecond." He took our order and we sat down. @ 20 minutes later, after watching several cars go past after getting their food at the drive up, I went to the counter to ask how long it would be. He asked what we were missing and when I said everything, he looked at the receipt and said it was the hash browns that they were waiting on. When I pointed out the fact that I had just seen him hand hash browns out the window to the car in the drive through, he said he'd take care of it. A couple minutes later we had our food. I think that 20 minutes is too long to wait for our food. Other people coming inside behind us had to wait for someone to take their orders, too. read more

First and foremost, this review isn't based on the food, it's based on what just happened when I stopped in to use the ladies room. As I was walking to the restroom, all I can hear is a female voice (employee because there was no one there) and in a very loud voice, I hear "f'n this and f'n that and I don't give a s*@&t what they said, they're f'n stupid idiots". I don't know who she was talking about but even if there is no one at your work place but you and one other person, that's VERY inappropriate language for the workplace. I hope that the owner or manager see's this because that's just poor judgement on that person's part and should get a good talking to. read more

I'm here away from my friends and family working and been going here everyday for the past week and half and I always ordered two McGriddles and the total has always came out to be 6.42 but for some reason today it was 12 dollars it's good don't get me wrong but it's definitely not 12 dollars good that's just insane I could have gone to Casey's and got alot more for that read more

Maybe it's an Illinois thing, but I've never experienced customer service like this place. When they clearly charged me twice for a drink, they continued to argue and wouldn't refund the mistake. Stopped to get my granddaughter lunch at this McDonald's which I should have listened to her and went to the Casey's across the street. We ordered and the manager bragged-up the new sandwich's and fries.Needless to say the food was cold and nothing to brag about the cold fries had cold globs of cheese dumped on them. Tables and eating area filthy, everyone discussing life behind the counter and last ladies bathroom also filthy with backed up sinks. I did not take the extra effort to report the bathroom because it took so long to to get someone to clean a table for us to eat on! That was $18.00 wasted dollars, never again! Has McDonald's corperation lost touch with their chains and policies? Should've listen to the granddaughter and had pizza at Casey's. read more

I was pleased with this Mcdonalds. I received extra sauce for my Mcnuggets when placing my order and received a special request tartar sauce at no extra charge. The black gentleman at the drive thru was pleasant and said hello, thank you and goodnight and I didn't receive a angry stare like I usually do when going through a Mcdonalds drive thru. The second server, Kelly, was also very nice advising us the fries were hot and fresh. A wonderful experience. read more

Be warned, Galena McDonald's has on-going issues, especially on PM shifts. Disengaged staff more interested in face book and boyfriends will always leave you hanging or utterly ignored/un-served. God help you if you place a special order. Have regularly experienced slow, incorrect, or cold food. The owners just invested big money into a nice new building, only to fill it with laughably bad PM staff...truly a recipe for disaster. I like McDonalds, and sometimes even enjoy a pleasant and convenient experience, but being ignored and poorly treated, YET AGAIN, is seriously getting tiresome. Please staff and train effectively...just because your mascot is a clown doesn't mean you have to operate like a circus. read more
