    Wow!

Super fun to visit the only McDonald's in the world in a house. The food is the same. The service is a little slow but the ambiance is super cool. We are glad we stopped in and have wanted to see it for years.

This has to be the cutest McDonald's I've ever been to! The building is beautifully restored with charming wood floors and even a fireplace, giving it such a cozy feel. The food was good and the service was great, just what you'd hope for. Definitely a neat spot to check out if you're in Freeport visiting L.L. Bean and the surrounding shops!

    Rubbery overcooked scrambled eggs!

This is the 3rd time I've ordered in Freeport the last few days. The first two times were subpar. Today's breakfast was the last straw. See the pictures of the breakfast my husband received. Is that supposed to be scrambled eggs? My husband could not eat the eggs, all the other food was cold and rubbery as if it had been sitting there a while. And he paid $9.17 for this! Goodbye McDonald's in Freeport Maine.

    Exquisite eating area

This McDonald's exceeded my expectations. As we were driving here, we almost missed the building because it does not look like your average McDonalds. Built inside an 1850s home, this McDonald's had an ambiance that made me feel like I was having breakfast with Paul Revere himself. The restaurant was clean, and the workers were pleasant and welcoming. The music was liberatingly refreshing. Food was consistent as expected. Overall an enchanting New England experience. Would recommend.

Coke here for one reason only. The building is adorable! The McDonalds is built into an old historic home and there isn't any huge signage or Golden Arches like most have. There is a drive though and full ordering inside. It's like having lunch in someone's home!.

a broken shoe on the floor

i walked in and i saw a man crying in pain from burning his hand because one of the machines spat flames on him. i then saw a dog pee in the corner and the employees just simply videoed and laughed. i then ordered a quarter pounder with cheese. it was pretty good. would come again.

best $5 bucks i've ever spent

How perfect was this old house with hardwood floors and rooms to choose where to sit and enjoy the view.

The coffee was served in a hand made mug with no handle. WAY TOO HOT to hold. When I pointed this out the server moved on to mistake number two. "You can pick it up at the rim," she suggested, and then proceeded to demonstrate, putting her fingers ALL OVER the rim.... DISGUSTING! There is an old expression in the food service business where top third of a glass, mug etc. belongs to the customer. In a 15 second interaction they managed to screw up a simple cup of coffee.....For A COFFEE SHOP, you would think they would be savvy about such simple minded matters.... Had her pour into a paper cup and bit my tongue.....Get it together......it is a simple process.

I like the interior: it has old, historic Maine building vibes (the exposed brick, the wooden floors, the large windows with accent shutters). I like the coffee (it's from a local roaster; shame on other coffee shops for not buying their beans from Maine businesses). I like the staff: I had A LOT of weird requests, and the person ringing me up was like, "yeah, we got you, girl" (not like that, but you get the point). I like the abundance of non-dairy creamer options. I like the very Maine themed lattes (like, The Golden Road? IYKYK) I like the very seasonal themed lattes. I like that they're dog friendly. I asked them if it was possible to get the Down East Maple Latte iced (with an extra shot) and additionally a healthy sprinkle of sea salt. It was the saltiest latte I've ever had in my life, but like, in a good way? It was a gentle amount of sweet, strong on the espresso flavor, and salty. I would absolutely come out of my way to WFM here!

First - it is super cute. With a mix of community tables, counter seating, and even one very cozy looking chair (I say looking because it was occupied and I was unable to plunk myself down and enjoy my book - which it was beckoning me to do). They have an extensive coffee menu and use their own roasted beans. I went with a standard coffee but did upgrade to maple syrup for my sweetener. (Anyone who knows me knows this alone won me over!) And, if you eat in - your coffee comes in a beautiful real mug! They have decent bakery case which is stocked with pastries from Two Fat Cats and bagels from Rose Foods! That's right - you can get a Rose Food bagel without the hassle of parking on Forest Ave in Portland. I got the Mystery Spice (old bay seasoning) and enjoyed half with Olive Cream Cheese and the other with Herbed. Clearly they make the cream cheeses here in house and they are delicious. The place seems pretty popular as there were many people here on a Thursday morning. Already planning a trip back here with a friend for a little remote work day!
