I informed them our friend might have his certified veteran's service dog and with ease she knew a good place for us, so the dog could be comfortable and lay down if needed. Very veteran friendly restaurant. My dad loved it here for that reason. Glad he was able to try it before he passed away. They treated him with the utmost respect. Our server was friendly and fast on her feet! She patiently waited for everyone to make their decisions and listened carefully to customizations for the sandwiches and sides. Our beverages never went empty! She was awesome. Our food was fresh and portions were perfect. Not too much and not too little. We didn't leave hungry nor overfull. I loved the french fries. My haddock pieces were nice as well. My friend's Reuben looked amazing. My husband got the special - Poutine burger and said the gravy was nice. No Crystal hot sauce but lots of yummy Maine hot sauces, which are great on the cornbread. Street parking is all around and there is a pay lot behind the restaurant. I won't lie, I was a bit skeptical at first, but after a handful of visits, I can confidently say I'm a fan. This no-frills, diner-style restaurant fills my soul -- and my belly -- in all the best ways. The portions are huge (we actually had to take some home once, and we're not usually those people), the Bloody Marys are strong, and the coffee seems to be endless. The service is always great too, in a way that genuinely reminds me of the South -- and I mean that as a compliment. I've had their (humongous) omelets, homemade cornbread (so good), andouille sausage, grits, jambalaya... basically half the menu by now. The portions, as mentioned, are generous, but I think the prices reflect that (most dishes range from $16-$20 before any add-ons; ie replacing sides). The flavors are usually on point, and everything is pretty delicious, though I've had a few semi-misses -- the grits and jambalaya were a little bland on one occasion. Nothing a little hot sauce couldn't fix, and thankfully, they've got plenty of that! As others have mentioned, they don't take reservations and it can get packed on weekends, but it's worth the wait. From the moment you walk in, you're transported to a place like no other in Maine -- and that, plus the food, will keep us coming back.

The egg in the omelet didn't have any seasoning, so a little salt and pepper was needed, in my opinion. It was the perfect cook though. It was fluffy, evenly cooked and the cheese inside was evenly distributed. Cocktails with alcohol - they are offered if you would like. I opted for just water with lemon. Lunch options included things like burgers and wraps and salads and steaks. Great service! So friendly and welcoming!!! It's a small space, especially in the colder months with jackets and such. Also, it wasn't very busy at all and we did not receive ANY sort of greeting let alone an acknowledgment we were even there. Maybe this ordering system works well when it's busy, but it was certainly not the "vibe" I was hoping to experience. I ordered the Bayside burger (single patty) with fries (small) with a side of garlic and parsley aioli. It was delicious! The burger was a classic wide and thin smash burger with lots of flavor. The mushrooms, swiss, and aioli complemented the burger perfectly and I enjoyed the high quality bun too. The fries are hand cut and fried in beef fat. They were very hot!! They were delicious, especially when dipped in the side of aioli. I was able to enjoy my meal on the picnic tables between the food truck and Argenta Brewing, which was perfect. This is a great addition to the area and very convenient, with great service too!
