I get to the drive-thru and they ask if I am using the app to order. I say yes, because I have a reward for a free hash brown. I give them the code on the app. They say it's not valid. They tell me to drive to the window to show my code. They still say it's not valid, even after showing them the code the app gave me. They wouldn't give me the free hash brown. So, their app sucks. It tricks you into ordering something you can't get free, just to get you to go to their restaurant. Ok, fine. I did order an Egg McMuffin that was fast and delicious, especially after the bad taste in my mouth Selva Coffee left in my mouth from right before coming to McDonald's. McDonald's is fast and reliable when you want to eat a good breakfast. Selva Coffee doesn't even have any food until 10am. That place sucks. Don't go there. This McDonald's was fast and good. They call this place the rich and fancy Golden Arches. These employees walk around like they are so high and mighty. Just farting around with there pinky out. I asked multiple times just for a few measly ketchups and a BBQ sauce and these people couldn't even give me that. First time getting my Big Mac fix at this Mcdonalds. I don't get the bad rep, it is one of the nicest ones, super clean, very spacious, I sat at a cool table with colorful lights that kept me entertained until my food arrived. Went to drive through and ask if they had coffee right now and was told yes. I ordered a large and proceeded to the drive-thru window and paid for my order. The young man in the window said there was only a little bit of coffee did I want to wait for a fresh pot or have the little bit that was in the cup. Naturally I opted to wait for the coffee and was told to park in space number one. Eighteen minutes went by before I received my coffee. When we got to the payment window a man name sergio was extremely rude when we were trying to fix our order. He was speaking over us, giving us a lot of attitude, and still wouldn't calm down when we told him to chill out because it was completely uncalled for. This place was not looking good when I came. The drive thru line was to the street so I went inside. There was a homeless man sleeping at one of the booths, coughing up his lungs. The bathroom was dirty and had toilet paper and paper towels all over the floor. The toilet seat also was not clean. I do appreciate that they got my order right tho as that doesn't happen regularly when ordering food from McDonald's. They were definitely short staffed for a Saturday night and do need to get more people working at that day/time. read more

If you're returning from a long drive from Los Angeles, this McDee's location is a good energizing stop. My review is only for the Hi-C and ice cream cone. Because can McDee's really be more than a star? I was craving an orange Hi-C and ice cream cone. Thank goodness this beverage has returned. Even better is a large drink is like a buck. Food quality is typical for McDonald's unless of course you forget to say you want everything fresh. The biggest issue for me is the warm soda. That's right, warm soda. And warm soda = flat soda. They tried to hide it by putting two scoops of ice in there but it didn't work. By the time I got home the ice was melted, the soda was still flat, it was somewhat cooler, but now it's diluted. I've only been here a few times but this location is above average in my experience. Large fries were actually large unlike other locations, staff interactions have been pleasant and there were a lot of people working here, but it still took a couple minutes to get some ketchup. I have to deduct a couple stars though. Staff was mopping the entire floor of the restaurant for some reason making it hard to get to places like the drink machine. They had a ketchup dispensor but no containers. Are we just supposed to put it directly on our food? It can be a little hard to get in the center but nothing like across the street. read more

We were on our way to Hollywood and we stopped really quick but decided to go in and consume since the staff was amazing. Honestly, I feel like I've given too many chances for this McDonald's. I'm someone who's forgiving as I've worked in the customer service industry. I'm currently working at the SD county fair so I've been buying McDonald's from this location because it's right by the fair. The first order I've made with them, they took so long with my drink when I did a drive through that I walked in and found my drink sitting there. I asked if this was my drink and the lady working there said in Spanish to her coworkers that I wasn't there but I was Waiting 20 minutes for just one drink only to see that the lady working was just putting blame to me saying I wasn't there in Spanish. Second time I've ordered from them, they forgot one of my orders. I ordered ahead of time through the app and was able to get it quick only to find out that one of my hash brown was missing. I gave them a third try because I needed food. I ordered from the app and when I went in (it's been 20 minutes since I ordered), I waited 10 minutes (30 min in total). I asked them where my food was and one of the workers said it's because you probably live far that the order just went through. The order goes through when you're 3-5 minutes away which doesn't make sense so me because I did the same thing literally just the day before and it was from my place. Overall, every time I've ordered from them, I've had a bad experience. There were more that I have experienced as I've been ordering consecutively almost every week due to the fair opening for a while. This place isn't worth it. :) read more

If I could give this McDonald's zero stars, I would. The customer service here is absolutely terrible. I went through the drive-thru, placed a simple order, and when I asked for an extra sauce, the employee acted like I was asking for their life savings. I politely asked for one more sauce, and the worker immediately rolled their eyes and sighed like I was the biggest inconvenience of their day. Then, they rudely said, "You know we charge for extra, right?" in the most condescending tone. I said that was fine, but even after I agreed to pay, they still had an attitude, practically tossing the sauce into my bag without another word. It's just sauce. If McDonald's policy is to charge for extra, I completely understand--but there's no need to be rude about it. A little customer service goes a long way, and unfortunately, this location seems to have none. Between the attitude, the lack of professionalism, and the way they barely even acknowledge customers with common courtesy, I won't be coming back. At this McDonald's, the fries were fine, the spicy McChicken was fine, but the Artisan chicken sandwich I received was so salty that I sent it back and had them prepare one freshly, which turned out fine. Of course everyone else caught up and now you have seemingly unlimited choices on where to take a break depending on which exit of a freeway you take. Say what you will but it's still a convenient quick pause where you know what you're gonna get. This location has a double drive-thru and they seem to get a lot of traffic so it helps keep things moving. A unique feature inside is an ordering kiosk. It's a digital touch screen where you can place your order. It will print out a receipt that you show at the counter when they call your name/number. Trivia Time: Remember the McSalad Shakers? It was salad in a large clear plastic cup with a dome lid. In the early 2000s, these salad creations from McDonald's were all the rage. They were discontinued in 2003 to make way for their premium salad line which is still around today. read more

I understand this is a fast food restaurant. I also understand it's in a posh/upscale area of San Diego. That's why I stopped by today. I've had so many great experiences at this McDonald's. Today added to that. The staff was attentive and friendly. The atmosphere was inviting and I felt genuinely like a was cared for. One last thing to add. I've had many Friday afternoon lunches at this McDonald's. They were all pleasant and I always left like today with a smile. So much of a smile. My dad and I were on our way home from Ensenada, MX and my dad asked if I wanted to go to the McDonald's he's always taken me as a little girl and I said yes. I waited in line for several minutes while a worker was just walking around aimlessly and didn't make eye contact with me. Finally the manager who took my order was rude. My dad ordered a meal which comes with a drink and after waiting for 10 minutes she forgot to give us the cup so I asked for one which automatically comes with the meal. I felt that I was bothering her for items that come with the meal and weren't on our tray. I didn't receive a water cup with ice like I had asked so I just didn't ask for it again. She didn't give us a straw which is common sense so my dad asked for one along with a couple sauces since there's a clear sign that we need to ask for them. However when we do, shes bothered. As she gave my dad the straw and condiments, she rushingly threw them on the counter and my dad being the decent and kind man he is even thanked her and she ignored him. All the tables had crumbs and were dirty. Every single one of them. After waiting for 10 minutes for our food I asked the manager if she can please wipe down our table by the window and she made a face at me but she wiped it down and I thanked her and I told her that I appreciated it. I tried being nice to her. As my dad and I ate our food, an employee walked by the soda machines while there was toppers for drinks thrown all over the counter and the floor and he just walked past them and didn't pick them up. All the TV's had stats and graphs of unknown things when she should have cartoons or something for the kids dining or something entertaining. There was an older gentleman in his 70's picking up his order while I was waiting for our food and when he went to pick up his tray he mentioned something missing from his order and eventually walked away while the employee just watched him and didn't help him or at least ask to see if he needed anything. I felt so sad seeing it. My dad had to go to the restroom and when he walked into the stall he said there was a big poop across the toilet so he left. There's no well maintained bathrooms here and there were a couple homeless people in the restaurant without paying for anything. Overall bad management and employees. They ruined the experience and my dad said we won't come here again. Save your time and don't come to this McDonald's. read more

This is not a joke. This place is unsanitary and should be closed by the health department. They cannot keep track of which car belongs towhat orders. On one occasion they gave my food to the car in front of me, who put their hand in the bag and gave the food back. So when i drove up thru they gave me the same bag and i told them remake the order new because an unknown car put their hands on my food. The McDonalds attended gave me a growl. Keep your expectations Very Low. I started using the McDonald app which is great avoiding the ordering lines. However, it tells you to verify your order number on the screens inside. This screen has been black for weeks. 1st time I didn't say anything. But after a few weeks....come on. Instead I have to flag a non English speaking worker down, only for them to stare at me like I was speaking Chinese, to VERIFY that my order was received by the restaurant. Without that screen, I'm forced to wait unknowingly or chase down a manager. They do Not approach you when You walk up to the counter. You have to wave arms and speak up.
