I have frequented this McDonald's on different occasions from the beginning of the pandemic and continue to do so when I am in the area. They have never failed me on how excellent their french fries are - hot, crispy outside and tender inside, lightly salted, and always filled to the appropriate amount per container size. Fries 100%. Compared to other locations I have gone for fries, this is by far my #1 spot in CA. The rest of their menu is just as good as expected. The four stars is because there was an incident where I came by one day to order inside for a "to go" order and I wasn't feeling so great because of the "monthly visitor" and it was taking a little time for me to gather myself while I was with my bf. The employee at that time could have taken a better approach with what she said to us about standing there for a couple minutes. I love McDonalds normally but none of the McDonalds in Camarillo have a high rating. I keep going back hoping to get a good meal and always disappointed again. This specific location never cooks their fries enough. they are always underdone. Ive learned to ask for "done" or "extra Krispy" but they are not done properly. so I never eat the fries sadly, they are so undercooked they don't even stand up. And we ask for a McDouble but the food never looks like it does in their pictures or commercials. My bun was smooshed to half its size as if someone pushed down on the sandwhich. For the most part the food has been quite consistent and standardized, a McDonalds burger is a McDonalds burger. Although, several times the meat has been slightly pinker than desirable, which could be improved on. The food is prepared quite fast though, so if you need something quick this is certainly a viable option. I do recommend ranch with the fries as sometimes they are on a drier side. What happened to this place. Originally wanted a big breakfast tonight for dinner but was gonna be an additional 7-8 minute wait so I opted for a buttermilk crispy chicken sandwich. Was the worst sandwich ever. Was sloppily made with soggy shredded lettuce, two tiny slices of tomato, and instead of spreading the mayo, they just plopped a big gob on the bun. The people are friendly, and most importantly, it's clean. The Hot Fudge Sundae is a must-have, the best buy in town for a dollar. My friends and I went here every morning for seven years. Here's why: we were in a Bingo game and won this magical coffee mug, which was the Original McDonald's Bottomless Cup of Coffee. So as long as we remembered to bring our mug, which we kept in our car, coffee was free. Yes, free! That's not the only bargain to be had, we also get all our napkins and Harry's Sweet 'n' Low stashes here. Also, if you bring in your own Matzoh, you can use their jam--free! They do sell breakfast food, though. Harry and I would split an Egg McMuffin, and he would take his half over to the men's table. He also likes the chocolate chip cookies and the biscuits, also with free jam. If you come for lunch, get the 1/3 Pounder, it's a better deal, and you can share it with your husband. Bad service. The basic expectation of a fast food service is, there will be at least one clerk in the front taking order. If not, the drive through clerk will have to fill in. And if there is too many people, a second clerk will open another cashier to get things done. This location failed to do the first part. The front window has been empty for a long time and customers are just left there waiting and the touch screen didn't work either. Not just us. We have seen other customers facing the problems when we enjoy our food. I don't care why the clerk keep leaving the front desk, it can happen and it will happen, but, someone has to fill in. You cannot leave customers hanging like this. I see this as poor management and poor training. I was about to walk on the drive through just to get my order. It is very irritating. read more

Yes, I'm writing a McDonald's Review. I know, I know, this is yelp suicide, but I have to say a few things about this McDs. First off, we hardly ever eat fast food, but every once in a while we get a "special treat" and go here for happy meals and they have been pretty quick without messing up the orders often. However, I am proud that my son would rather eat at In-N-Out than here. In-N-Out Rocks! Second, my son just started AYSO and we noticed a sign in the window saying that they give out free cones to kids in uniform on Sat and Sun during the season. So, after one of the games I took my son and one of his teammates here for a "special treat". I'll remember this and tell everyone I know in AYSO. Smart, get em hooked when they are young. It was funny, I saw one dad sitting in his car listening to a football game while his kids ran in to get their free cones. (heh heh, lazy bastard. At least I sat with the kids and talked with them while they licked away.) Third, it's pretty clean but I'm sure that this is because it gets a lot of traffic from the highschool across the street and they have to clean up often (especially on Fridays during football season). Finally, If you look up before you order, you'll see a pretty cool mural on the walls. A little piece of art in an unexpected place. I'm a bit embarrassed to admit that I frequent this particular McDonald's a few times a week. I always order the same thing. I'm a creature of habit. I would say at least 80% of the time, their cappuccino/latte machine is supposedly malfunctioning. This has been going on for over a year. Half the time it's actually functioning, but they've decided in their infinite wisdom to service the machine at the very beginning of the morning which Seems like the worst time to service a machine that is going to be constantly used. What can I say about Mcdonalds. I have always loved it, like every kid. I go to this one in particular because its the closest one to my work. This one isn't a bad, its always very clean and fairly quick. I've never had an order messed up there and I eat there pretty regularly. Every now and then you get a bad batch of fries, to cold or sitting under that lamp for to long. The fries are still my all time favorite no matter where I'm eating. I won't be a patron at this McDonalds ever again. Last night I drove through and ordered an apple pie and a chocolate milk amongst a couple of other things. At the first window (where you pay) I added another apple pie and I was given another total. At the second window (where you receive your food) I noticed that there was only one apple pie in the bag. I let the clerk at the window know that there was only one apple pie in the bag and she responds "Well the girl said she put 2 in there!" I asked her if she would like to look in the bag and the girl at the window just walked away. I waited another minute and another girl walks up to the window and informs me I only ordered one. I told her that I added another at the first window, and begin to reach for my receipt. She threw a smaller bag containing an apple pie through my car window, said "Fine, just take it!" and closed the window. This was all before I even realized that they also forgot the chocolate milk for my toddler in the back seat. While I realize this is McDonalds, and customer service is clearly not their priority, I still expect to receive all the items I pay for. read more

We've been going to this location for years with inconsistent service, but this experience has been the worst by far. My family decided to get McDonald's for dinner so we went through the drive thru to order. We were ordering for five people so it took us a little while to get the whole order in. Once we were done, she directed us to the next window without confirming our order. Once we got to the window, she asked for the amount and we gave her some gift cards we had to use up first. When she scanned the gift cards and gave us the remaining balance, we asked her to recheck the gift card balances before we paid the rest. She didn't know how to do this and basically shrugged at us. We ended up paying the rest and she gave us our receipt. When we got to the next window, we informed the next worker that we had been charged for a coffee we hadn't ordered. She took the receipt and handed it off to someone else for the refund. Then another worker came back to the window and told us we had "forgotten our change". We said that we didn't forget any change since we'd paid with a gift card and credit cards. The manager then walked up to the window while we were confirming that the cash was for the coffee refund and interrupted with only "You're fine" and walking away. THEN they made us pull over to the side to wait for our order. We watched 4 other cars pull past us with their food before the girl came back to bring us ours. While we were checking the bags, we mentioned that we had asked for bbq and ranch sauce. The girl's only response was "If you asked for it, it's in there" as she walked away. Of course, there wasn't any sauce. So we had to park and walk in to get the extra sauce. The manager saw us walk in and ignored us until we called for her attention to get the sauce. Then she tossed a bag of sauces at us without saying anything and walked away. Once we got back home, we also realized that the refund we had been given was incorrect and they had shorted us on the change we got back. You can be sure we'll be filling out their survey. Not one of the 4 people in that place smiled at us or offered any kind of apology for the mistakes that were made. read more

I try not to eat McDs but sometimes i still do. Mostly breakfast. Lately the coffee is burnt and the breakfast sandwiches have shrunk significantly. The quality of the biscuits is very poor now. I received a biscuit sandwich with a flimsy top half and it was upside down (the inner side was faced up). One of my first jobs was at McDs so its not like i do not know what it is like to work there. The staff is usually pretty good and mostly nice. So this review is mostly about the quality of the food. So I did the curb side service and ordered chicken nuggets and a cheeseburger. Sitting in the number 4 spot. The drive through was not keeping up to the light rush. The we're sending the drivers into the parking lot to wait for the orders. Their crew keep walking around to fine the customer with the order. I am parked in number 4, so I was confused why the kept if what they had was for me. So when they sent out my order it took a tour around the parking lot before they got to me.
