I happened to come across this park while biking at Mayberry Park / in the area. I thought the parks would connect, but they don't. So I spent a little time looking for it. Once I got there, I was quite underwhelmed. There is a parking lot for about 5 or 6 cars, so that was a nice surprise, but it all ended there. The steps down to the park were unkempt and it reflected the entire park. The trails were all small and narrow, the shrubbery tall, and the ground was uneven and muddy. The park is also not that big. The trails don't connect to other trails (at least that's what I found when I went) and there are no grassy areas. I did like how close it was to the Truckee river. It's literally right there! You can take your dog here (if he/she likes the water) or, even better, you can fish here without much disturbance or noise. It's definitely peaceful and quiet here. It would also be a good starting point if you wanted to go tubing down the river. If Mayberry park's parking was full, this would be a nice alternative spot. Overall, I would only recommend this park if you like fishing. It's great that it's close to the river, but it's not a park for families and/or outdoor activities.

Bob was an avid fisherman as well as manufacturer of what he called "Rocket Launcher" for tackle boxes, died recently. He also made custom rods. His passing left me with many incomplete Rocket launchers in various stages of manufacturing. He also had a variety of "thread and paints of different colors. He also has a rod turner/rotary tool and possibly other tools I haven't listed. He was a one-man business and as such, I have no idea what it is worth but there might be someone who is looking to start a custom-built shop but I haven't found anyone yet in the Las Vegas area!. His shop is in Amargosa Valley Nevada on private property and I could meet someone who may be interested in this "stuff"! My computer is in the process of re-building but I can be reached on LAND LINE, no tet, 702-877-6794! Listen to the recorder to get to me or leave a message. Mistrbill Bill Shuster

This is a park with walking and biking trails wih ample access to the truckee river. Typically quiet and has enough room to not have to crowd any particular arrea. There is a small parking lot that is pretty safe since there is really no other reason to be in this area unless you are using the park. As far as naming of this park, I believe it was named after Dr. Massoud Dorostkar, an anesthesiologist in Reno who donated the tract of land for use as a park. What I dont know is how to properly prononuce the Persian surname Dorostkar. is it DO-roast-car or duh-RAWST-kahr?
