There are plenty of poop stations bit owners are not concerned about doing what is right. Lake water was cleaner today. It varies with the weather. Currently there are not a lot of geese. A few ducks and terns. No restroo S or running water so come prepared.

With the trees one is usually in the shade. A lot of people all hours of the day but it doesn't feel overly crowded. Don't let your dog in the lake or drink the water however, prone to poisonous algae. I'd say the only negative, and no fault of the park, is how many people choose not to clean up after their dogs. Enjoy the lake and go to mid-town after for something refreshing. Cheers!!

It was a little cool at first but once we warmed up on the trail we started taking layers off. You're pretty much going up hill all the way. It got a rocky part of the way but not to bad. We would stop in the shade for a minute to cool off. Once you get to the trees you haven't much farther to go. The falls weren't as big as I thought it would be but still pretty. I mainly went for the exercise. It's a pretty good hike and I'll definitely go again.

There's just something so peaceful about being outdoors and taking in the beauty around you. The reflections on the water were absolutely gorgeous, the fresh outdoor air smelled amazing, and the temperature was perfect not too hot, not too cold. It wasn't too crowded either, which made it even better. And of course, I got lucky and found easy parking in my favorite spot!!! Sometimes the simplest things fresh air, sunshine, a beautiful view, and a good walk are all you need to start your Sunday feeling refreshed and grateful.

The ducks and geese are the only thing that should be in the mirky waters. Not sure how an RC boat would hold up but It certainly not a swimming lake. The rest of the park has been kept very decent with some areas that could use some attention. There is a paved walking path around the lake, a few picnic tables, a playground area, and grass areas perfect for recreation or ??? lots of mature trees provide shade. street parking is available all around the park without crowding the surrounding homes.

I noticed he was smoking out of a crack pipe, he nodded as we walked by, and I gave him a glare and glanced towards my daughter. He nodded back that he understood, and didn't hit it again u til we were walking away. All of them minded their own business, and didn't bother us at all. We acknowledged them, said good morning and kept moving! It was nice to enjoy the area, art, and local wildlife! Great area that felt safe at all times. The surrounding areas were all very clean, the restrooms were also clean and maintained.

Just an update from my first review 10 years ago…read more The walking path between the east end of Riverside Drive and the Booth Street bridge is now open!!!! The pathway is now double the width and does some gentle meandering around the trees. It will be a lot more accessible for people with mobility issues. The new landscaping is beautiful. The banks of the river have been raised and reinforced to decrease flooding damage. And just a reminder- dogs and other pets are still welcome and must be leashed or otherwise contained. Bicycles, scooters, and skateboards are not allowed. This is one of the top places to visit in downtown.

I do not know what the launch fees are, if there are any. But it's quite nice. We came here after a nice time up at Sugar bowl. They had an encore weekend and it is about 4 miles past this lake.

We…read morestopped by bc the wife wanted to picnic at a park for a Sunday lunch, and this place fit the bill. Good thing it was only a mildly warm weekend, as Idlewild is in the middle of the city, so not exactly "in the woods." However, there are lots of trees here so they provided some shade for our time here. Parking was easy, plenty of spaces along the main road of the park, and some dedicated spots in several areas too. We discovered that one of the main attractions here is a pond, so we picnicked while we sat on the side of the pond and watched ducks do their waddle thing and just like the ones at William Land Park, these ducks were also are very comfortable with humans and they came by and tried to ask for food and watched us eat. The pond is about the same size as the Land Park one, for those who know Sactown, but it's a bit bigger, I think. It's also a man-made pond, but with fish in it and wildlife around. Besides the pond, there's a rose garden just across the main road leading into the park, and a sensory garden, as well as a play structure for kids and a little train runs through the park that you can buy tickets and ride on (best for little ones). The park is pretty well-maintained and look to be in good condition overall. Landscaping is kept up with lots of trees, flora, plants, and fields throughout. All in all, a nice park in Reno, a little oasis in the middle of the biggest little city in Nevada.

Wingfield Park is located in Downtown Reno along the Truckee River. The park offers a pretty view…read moreof the river. There are plenty of homeless people who occupy this park. There were benches to sit at this park, but they had homeless people setting up camp on them. The park was mostly dirty with trash littered throughout. Several homeless people were lying in the grassy areas. There are no bathrooms at this park. There is no playground equipment at this park. Take your family somewhere safer if you want a view of the river. Paid street parking is available. Be safe out there. -Dadzone
