    New trail signs everywhere

Small park on the Truckee River. Dorostkar is one of many small parks that are connected by the Tahoe Pyramid Trail. There is a single paved trail - the TPT. Then several short narrow branch trails that are dirt or rock. Trails have almost no shade. Great for early morning summer hikes or all day spring and fall hikes. Fishermen use the small paved parking lot because it's a short hike to the river. If the lot is full drive down Fourth Street to Mayberry Park, way more parking areas. This park is accessed from Mayberry at the curve.

Popular park since the dirt trails opened up. Lots of dogs walking their owners out here. There are also placards up here with fauna and geographical information. So if you park in the dedicated lot, there are multiple trails to the right with a bunch of bridges. There is also a paved large walkway going up and down following the river. Fun to explore around here. You get connected to other trails, parks and subdivisions from here. No water fountains or restrooms in this immediate area.

This is a nice little, local park to bring your dog, with parking available and both "nature" and paved paths which meander along the Truckee River. There is signage along the gravel paths with information about the local trees, plants, etc. and places where dogs can cool off in the river. We came here recently on a warm, overcast summer day and the river and mountain views were beautiful.

This park is perfect. 1. Easy parking. 2. Easy access from a main road. 3. Places close to the parking area to sit and picnic if you need a table. 4. Benches a short walk from the parking lot that allow for a view of the river. 5. Short walks or long all with a centralized starting point near the parking lot. 6. Paved trails. 7. Small off shoots that are unpaved but still easy to get right back onto the main trail. This park is worth checking out - especially on a beautiful sunny day when you need some Vitamin D therapy. I will keep this on my list of excellent parks when I am able to enjoy a fun sun day!

Easy flat walk, great for strollers

Small park with a short 1.5 mile paved trail that has fantastic views of the Truckee River and the hills and mountains. There's even a bridge that crosses over the river. It's also a short walk to Mayberry Park if you wanted to hit both!

I had passed this park many times while driving home on Mayberry and finally decided to try it out one morning. I'm so glad I did. The park consists of a (mostly) paved trail that winds along the Truckee. Though in some areas the pavement is broken thanks to roots, I have no problem maneuvering my stroller along the path. There are lots of little one off side paths to explore with plaques that inform you on the flora and fauna of the area, which don't suffer the defacement that you can see at some other parks like Oxbow. From the parking lot, you can take a left, head under the bridge, and go over to Mayberry Park, or take a right and walk the length of the trail, which is about half a mile one way. There are several picnic tables along the path and benches as well, but be advised there is no bathroom nor any running water! Dogs are allowed on leash, and I've only seen one owner who ignored that rule. I've been both during the week and on the weekend and have never seen it busy enough that there was no parking even though the lot is small. It seems like many people like to fish here as well, so I'm looking forward to trying that this summer. Tl:dr- All in all, great, quiet, and safe park!

2.95 miles http://www.nvtrailmaps.com/pdfs/maps/dorosktar_park.pdf Great park to walk your dog. Lots of things to smell. The day Luna and I went we watched a deer cross the river over the Large Bridge. ( I shoulda got the name of the bridge ) Along the dirt path you can see where the Beavers have come up and crewed down some trees... Lots of butterflies also along the path. All and all get there early the small parking lot was full when I was leaving....

Easy flat paved trail that crosses the Truckee river. Round trip from the parking lot is about 1.5 miles. You also can go to the left from the parking lot and access Mayberry Park. Great walking trail for dogs, kids riding their bikes, and access to the Truckee for rafting and fishing. Can get icy in the winter.
