This park is located in South Reno. It has a pretty cool playground for the kids and covered picnic area. There are also bathrooms on-site. You can also access the Damonte Ranch Wetlands Loop, which offers beautiful views of various wildlife and the surrounding mountain ranges.
I love how this park is so close to me. It's a great open and wide park. Parking is very open. Lots of activities for 4th of July, that all the neighbors look forward to.
This is fabulous park to enjoy for a kids day out at the playground or even a nice long walk around the marshland. I head here often when it's cold at my home (I live at 5500ft elevation). It's usually warmer since it's at the valley floor around 4300ft elevation. There are beautiful views of the mountains, lots of bird watching in the marsh, a well maintained paved trail around the marshland (around 3 miles) and sometimes even wild horses to view around the trail and park.
Thank you to Reno city planners for this beautiful 3 mile walking trail It has such a special place in my heart and i've made so many restful memories walking this trail. You are loved!
This was a great walk that was about a 3mile loop. Very peaceful and calm. The walk goes along a paved path which is wide enough for folks to pass by each other. Basically goes along the back of people's houses. Beautiful yards to see. Lots of birds to see and other people out walking dogs. Everyone is really friendly. A nice bridge to look out towards mountains. I'd do this again for sure.
Nice park for a walk with the dog. Good paved path within the park itself and also around the wetlands (3.1miles). Playground very modern and looks like it would be fun to play on. Good area to picnic as well. Not much shade so go early or on a temperate day.
I absolutely love this park! When you pull into the parking lot, there are structures that kids can play on, picnic tables, and a basketball court. Once you walk past that, there is a large walking path that loops around the wetlands. It truly is a beautiful and relaxing place to go on your daily walk or jog. it is also nice that you are far enough away from the main roads where there is no sound pollution. It is well maintained, has friendly people, and the landscape is picturesque, especially during sunset or sunrise. This place is the perfect to get some exercise and to get a little extra vitamin D before the winter comes!
Damonte Ranch Park has one of the best playgrounds in the area. The playground is huge. There is a lot to climb on and there are some big slides. There is a metal zip line attached to the playground. There is a smaller playground next to the big one. There there is a four person seesaw at this playground. There are swings and toddler swings at this park. There is soft padding underneath the playground. There is a large grassy area to enjoy. There is a paved walkway around the park. It appears this path connects to the nearby neighborhoods. There is a basketball court with two hoops. There is a bathroom at this park. There is a covered eating area with some picnic tables underneath. There is a parking lot for you to park in. The one issue with this park is there is not a lot of shade. There are not a lot of mature trees at this park. I would be grateful if the city added some shade near the benches at the playground. The park was clean and the bathroom was clean. Side note: I was informed by one of the wonderful local moms that teenagers like to go to this park. Sadly those teens aren't always friendly with the little kids. Please watch out. Have fun out there. -Dadzone
What an awesome little park we stumbled upon today. The play equipment was quality for all ages, my 3 & 8 year old both loved it! They have an incredible walking path & great views. The only bummer is that the parking lot is pretty small, luckily we found a space but we definitely took the last one! It's a hopping spot.
Very nice new park for young and old alike. There is a play are for children with a slide and jungle gym. Unfortunately at this time, it is closed due to our covid-19 restrictions. It is fairly new without much shading. But I like it for the reason that you can walk along the protected wetlands and it might be shy of a 3 mile walk. Lots of water fowl and fish in the ponds. I like dreaming of having one of those nice homes along this walk and enjoy looking at there well kept gardens. Friendly hometown people walking their dogs, riding their bikes. Makes for a nice weekend nature walk, enjoying our beautiful area and weather.
This park has served me well. I discovered it when I moved to Reno back in 2012 and if any of you know me you know that I run, a lot. Miles and miles on, around, near, or in this park and wetlands loop. The distance is 3 miles exactly from start to finish. It's perfect for bike riding, picnics, long boarding, playing with your goofy dogs, making a potty stop, whatever the need it's a great place to reset and enjoy.
Love this trail! Easy, flat walk. We live in the area so this is the perfect trail for our daily dog walk. There's the 3 mile loop, and a smaller ~1.5mile loop. If you circle the entire parameter clockwise (Veterans Pkwy to Steamboat Pkwy to Rio Wrangler Pkwy and back in on McCauley Ranch Blvd ), you could get about 4miles total, or ~4.5mi if you make a figure 8 loop at the bridge at he entrance of Cascade Falls Dr. Friendly fellow walkers, joggers, and bikers. You pass by the backyards all the houses in the neighborhood, and everyone is pleasant and says hello. Many, many dogs, and most are well trained and friendly. There is also a playground, gazebo, and grass area where people let their kids and dogs off leash (hey, I've seen kids on leashes) Trash cans and poop bag stations along the trail, but no water fountains, so bring some water for yourself and your pup for the walk if it's a warm day! See you all on the trail!
When I first moved to Reno I was determined to find the coolest playgrounds in town for my kids to enjoy, and Damonte Ranch Park was what Google deemed most worthy. In my experience, Google knows best so I made an effort to get out to the park and since, have been visiting it frequently for 6 years. With the little experience I've acquired throughout the years, me and my family are able to enjoy the park year-round with no inconveniences at all. If I could find a park that really has something for everyone, I'd say that this is the park. Wildlife watchers, wetland lovers, flat trail walkers, eager joggers, playground heads, parents only club, dog walkers, hill rollers, epic sunset seekers, beginner bikers, skaters on wheels, bridge enthusiasts & picnic go-ers, are some of the types of people I see here all the time. That pretty much covers everyone. NOTES -3.1 mile, no elevation gain, loop trail -8 acre park -completely exposed so in the summer, making it out at early morning and before sunset will be ideal, unless you're looking for some heat and a tan. Sunscreen is always a good idea, esp. being at a higher elevation here in Reno where the sun is more intense. -Enjoyable in the winter at any time of the day when the sun doesn't burn -There are no water fountains so don't forget to bring water -There are two play structures. One for smaller kids and one for bigger kids. swing set- 2 baby swings, 2 big kid swings. 4 way seesaw, chimes, tic-tac-toe, climbing structures, many slides, sliding pole, balancing steps. -This park is very popular and can get busy during weekends, after school hours and holidays. When the weather is cold and windy, you can have the park all to yourself. -1 picnic shelter with 4 tables, BBQ, Year-Round Restroom nearby -Basketball court with two - 1/2 opposing courts -Stroller -There are a couple of cute hills that my kids love running/rolling up and down. During winter, when snow is abundant, it's the best place to sled down. -There are nice open grassy areas ideal for flying a kite and playing fetch with dogs. Though the grass is pretty stripped so when it gets wet, it can get a little muddy. -great for photography. beautiful views of epic sunsets, snow covered mountains, nature & wildlife -During peak hours, parking lot can fill up. In this case, you can park along the street. -in the summer when the plants are tall, there's a fun maze kids love to run through. -Keep an eye out for yearly events hosted at the park, under normal circumstances of course, like 4th of July where they put on a grand display of fireworks, set up tents that hand out treats, and provide live music. Or in winter, meet with Santa and trunk or treat during Halloween. -The trail is perfect for bicycle family riding or those learning how to use bikes. paths are wide. -The trail is lined with people's backyards. -Poop bags available at a couple of places. -There's a plaza down the street with Mc Donald's, Starbucks, Home Depot, Pizza, Subway, Kid's Haircut Place and a soon to be Safeway, if you're looking to get things done while in this part of town.
Time for an update. Quality/Quantity - Easy walking or biking. Almost a 3 mile round trip. Well, the short path. AMENITIES: Barbecue, basketball court, pathways, picnic shelter, playgrounds, tables/benches, and year-round restrooms. You need bathrooms on the other side of the park also. Atmosphere - Part of the 1962 acre master community. 8 acres put aside for this park. Open space, wetland, etc. Service - N/A, self service. Price - Free. Owner Suggestion - Thank you for such a nice park, but can I suggest more shade? And another set of bathrooms on the other side of the park. read more
Wonderful 3 mile paved route great for jogging or just walking. gorgeous views of the mountains and surrounding wetlands. always seems to be one of the warmest places in Reno even on those cold days. We always seem to see some wildlife here. I've walked and ran this path several times even on a Christmas evening lights viewing /run outing. read more

Our family of four took our little dog for a walk around the 3 mile loop trail just before Christmas. We love that it is a well-maintained, paved, flat, circular loop trail good for both walkers and bicyclists. Inside the loop is a wetland great for birding. We also saw some beautiful wild mustangs! At this time of year, the walk is festive because many homes adjacent to the trail are decorated for the holidays. read more

This park is very well maintained. Paved for those with kiddlets or wanting to enjoy a nice walk with the family or we saw people jogging. I went in the mid day (2-4) of Summer and would suggest plenty of water, sunblock and a hat since there is not that much shade. This is a great place to see/hide painted rocks and some local wildlife since this is a wetlands protected area. Herons, swans, ducks, and other wildlife. There is a little library on the walk as well. My favorite part is the inspirational quotes hidden along the walk such as stop and smell the Rose's, hugs, happiness, you've got this. read more
I think this is an amazing trail to go to especially in the spring and fall, a little hot during the summer since there's no trees for shade. The only update, is that the playground on the north side of the trail, is closed! Don't know how long, no signs or any other information. read more

Review #152 - 2018 While we were on our Memorial Day weekend mini get-a-way, we decided to search for a park to take the baby that had a nice playground as well as a basketball court for the boys and this park had the perfect combination. We showed up around 6 PM on Sunday and there were actually a lot of kids and parents enjoying the nice weather. They have two nice size playgrounds, a swing set and a basketball court. There's also a covered area with a few picnic tables for those who want to bring your own food or have a birthday party. It's in a nice little neighborhood so it seems that most parents actually know each other. We came back the next day, but it was too hot so the kids couldn't really make use of the slides. Definitely kid friendly and family oriented park. read more
I just loved this park for me because its located in a residential area next to a water preserve. There is a small restroom, large swing child play area, perimeter walk around the preserve (long walk ), a mini maze walk and 3 large grass mounds. The walkways are cemented and asphalted, so no slipping and dust on the shoes. Aside from an occassional friendly loose dog running around, wild life is kept to a minimum and a distance. read more
It is a nice park for both of my boys : 5 yrs old can hangout with his classmates at off school time and my 1 yrs old enjoys himself on the swing. During the holidays or off school time , the play ground can be packed easily with all ages. Trying not to come around the peak time will ease parents with small children lots of headaches!! I totally thought I had already reviewed Damonte Park! My bad! We live so close to this park. It is a great place to go if your a kid or an adult! Our kids love the play structure, the open spaces to play kickball, fly a kite, play fetch with your dog, or go on a 4 mile walk that loops around the wetlands. There is even stuff to do in the winter. A cute hill is there where younger children enjoy sledding down it! The park also boasts two basketball courts and restrooms. Also there is a covered pavilion to hang out by the play structure if you want to get out of the sun. There are quite a few benches to sit and take in the beauty of the wetlands/wild life and foot hills. I think my favorite thing however, is that they do a great Fourth of July firework display with free food, drinks, and a bike parade for the kiddos! We love coming here and enjoying all Damonte Park has to offer! read more
This is a pretty little park with a nice playground for the kids. There is lots of open space and nice well taken care of grass and landscaping. The best part about this park are the miles of adjacent walking trails alongside the picturesque wetlands with bridges, ponds, creeks, benches, trees and flowers along the way. The view of the mountains is spectacular from every direction. I knocked off one star because the cleanliness of the park restroom needed some work. read more

Great neighborhood park and nature area. Fun park for the kids and families alike. Large grass area to play, spin poi and use our bocce ball set. There are basketball courts and bathrooms as well. I love the walking the nature loop around the wetlands. Such beautiful views of the mountains from there as well. The paved 4 mile loop is good for bikes, scooters or blades too. I wish I could just walk from my house to here but it's worth driving to. read more

This park is awesome. They have everything to entertain from the level of a toddler to a seasoned veteran of climbing and playing. They have child swings (those for children unable to yet pump while on a swing) and a plethora of slides. My kids had a lot of fun here and the only thing I would recommend is making sure your kids understand that the log looking feature on the larger structure is not a slide and not easy to climb. My oldest fell off of it, thinking it was a slide, within five minutes of arriving at the park (she is 3.5 years old at the moment). You'll definitely have a good time here. read more
Hands down, this is the best playground in Reno. We drive all the way out to the south end of town to take Toddler to this amazing structure. Three stories, three sections, five slides, bars, sliders, a climbing wall, and wiggly poles make for a structure so awesome that kids can stay up in it for hours without ever touching the ground. There is also a smaller, toddler-size structure for those with weak nerves. And those are just the play structures! There are also swings, see-saws, a maze, paved bike trails, a BBQ pavilion, basketball courts, and a nice restroom. Oh, and did I mention excellent parking, amazing views and cool public art? Every time I come here I keep expecting somebody to be there collecting entrance fees, because this park is so nice, it seems extraordinary that it is all free! read more
