    Truckee River

My favorite local park tucked into this neighborhood off Mayberry. There is usually parking in the lot, if not, wait a few minutes and one usually opens up. There's a nice walking trail going west if you are not staying to enjoy the park's nice grassy spaces, the picnic tables, playground, or riverside spots. Generally clean restrooms to boot. Groups and individuals often launch their floats from here and it is about an hour float down to Wingfield park. I imagine this year bumping into and onto boulders won't be as bad with the productive winter we had of snow. Very dog oriented park (often off leash) jaunting into the river. Fly fishing at different spots. Walk along the river and you'll eventually score your own private shaded beach spot. My favorite spot to set up for a picnic is on the far east corner of the park under the nice shade of trees.

This park is a 5 stars based on scenery. The playground is 3 stars so I give this park a 4. The river is close by and looks like it could be a good place to swim in the summer. There are lots of grassy areas and a very nice walking path around the park. There are a lot of picnic tables at this park. There is a covered area with picnic tables underneath. There are great views of the river. There are swings at this park. There are no basketball hoops. The playground has one slide and has shredded rubber pieces underneath the playground. The playground is average to below average and I feel the kids would get bored with it quickly. There are bathrooms at this park, but they were locked when I was there. Have fun out there. -Dadzone

We were trying to find another park in the area and stumbled upon this park. It's a medium sized neighborhood park with the majority of it being grassy, shaded, and next to the river. A walking/bike path begins at the west end of the park as well, but then it appears you lose the shade. This seems like a great place for a short walk, an afternoon picnic or to bring your kids to the small playground.

    Nice long picnic tables

Small grassy park with a lot of picnic and benches with a small children's play area. Its right next to the Truckee. One way in and out of their parking lot. Short and easy walk/bike path to the left of the park. Ends in a residential road. Lots of dogs and little ones this Sunday morning. Beautiful autum leaves all over. There is a restroom, but didn't go to it.

a small park with water access isn't small! with water comes views, wildlife, and people...this small park has it all. In the summer, this a good park to stop by on a long walk. It's not too far from and along the same truckee river path as idlewild park. This park has privacy and is rarely crowed unlike its busier neighboring parks. It's a great place for kids and leashed dogs but I like to come in the middle of the afternoon, when hardly if anyone is around, with my blanket to sun bathe and wade in the water. This park is a real gem just waiting for you to try it on.

Love this smaller park. I sets at a dead end right along Tahoe-Pyramid Bikeway. Today must have been bring your dog to the park day, which Luna was very excited about all the playmates. It has a public bathroom :) picnic tables, play structure with swings. The park grounds were much cleaner then other parks I have been to. Great place for a birthday party.

When I think of cooling by the Truckee River, it's here or on a raft in Tahoe City.

We used to bring my kiddos to this park a when they were little. There's a good amount of shade, ample parking, There are restroom facilities with bright night lighting. A large stretch of grass and even a walking trail makes for some good stroller cruisin'! I'd say a highlight to this park is the awesome view and location.
