Th city of Sparks does a nice job in their public spaces.
I recently walked across this park while hiking the Tahoe Pyramid Trail - Sparks Section. This decent sized city park sits between the Truckee River and 777 Spice Island. It is well shaded with flat areas and small hills. Lots of nice picnic tables, some with coverings. A few benches. A couple of horseshoe pits. It a quiet beautiful spot with the sound of the river splashing by. Maybe a good idea to try fishing here.
Pets are welcome, but should be on leash. It is also posted the leash not be more than 6 feet long. There are a couple of spots to pick up poop bags, in case you forgot one. But you should never leave home without several. And plenty of cans are available for bags and picnic trash.
Since the trail does run along the edge, be aware of bicyclists and joggers. read more
