This is a beautiful and HUGE park. There are so many play structures to choose from for the kids to play on. There is plenty of shade to relax in, and quite a few covered seating areas for picnics. There is tons of well kept grass to run around on or simply lounge. The bathrooms are well kept and easy to locate/access. The park itself has two entrances (which I didn't realize until this last visit), which makes it very convenient and easy to get to. read more

This will always be my favorite park in Sparks. I have very fond memories with my kids here. I look at my teen at times and wonder where the time went. We spent countless summer days having picnics and tea parties here when she was younger. She flew her first kite here as well. Flash forward, my youngest makes us play ice cream shop here in the playground. My family and I frequently visit on the weekends with the kids to allow them to expell their energy. This park is huge and well maintained by the city of Sparks. Kudos to you guys for doing so! The playground is the only one that has shade in summer. One reason why I'll always return. The last visit was for a family baby shower this past weekend. It was a perfect evening. I'm looking forward to cooler nights and strolling through leaves soon. read more

Really 4.5 stars! My kids love to come here because of the play areas and paths where they can ride their scooters. I love it because of the clean bathrooms and enclosed feeling and safe distance from traffic and cars. I can also get my daily steps in while watching the kids. People are friendly. In the summer, there are parties and barbecues or you can just play in the large grassy areas. read more

I was looking for a pickleball court close to a friend were we could meet up. This worked so we met up on a Sunday morning. There are two tennis / pickle ball courts. Outside and just a short walk from street parking. I followed google directions which took me to the park parking lot, however that was closer to the playground. I found it was a little closer to park next to elementary. Only saw one other player the hour + we were there. Even though it's not close to me, it works and it's not nearly as busy as trying to play at Cyan in South Reno. read more

Wide open ocean of thick green grass! Just want to take off my shoes and run around in it. Lots of mature trees giving respite shade to the picnic tables and walkways. There is a restroom, playground and other sports amenities. The cemented walkways lead out of the park between the subdivision. The Googs maps won't direct you to the actual parking lot, but one can park all around the perimeter of the park in the residential area. read more

Pah Rah Park is one of the best parks in Sparks. The park is very big and has a lot of grass and trees. There are 4 playgrounds at Pah Rah Park. The main playground is located in the center of the park. During the summer a temporary shade is put up over the main playground. The main playground is very cool. There is a great climbing area made of ropes. The main playground has a soft padding underneath. There are plenty of things to play on at this playground. The three other playgrounds have wood chips underneath. There are swings located at three of the four playgrounds. The main playground is the only one with toddler swings. There are two horseshoe pits at this park. There are several covered eating areas at this park. There are several mature trees which provide shade. There is a paved walking path which goes through and around the park. There are basketball hoops at this park. However, the hoops and the courts are absolutely pathetic. The hoops are broken, they have been broken for at least a year. The court itself is falling apart. The whole court needs to be replaced. I hope the city can do something about the basketball court at this park because the kids deserve better than what is provided. The park has bathrooms which are usually pretty clean. There are tennis courts at this park. The park is clean. A parking lot is available to park in. Have fun out there. -Dadzone read more

It was fun, busy, a lil challenging over all helpful in development and releasing energy. Appreciate that there's different play structures for different ages. Love that it's spacious. Thankful there's restrooms. But most importantly well kept didn't see trash on the floor. read more

I have been to this park many, many times. Often times I have been here with the local homeschooling community. On the day I checked in I was here for a graduation party. It is the only park I know of where you can come and have a BBQ without having to have a permit. This park is large and the play equipment has been revamped and is fairly new. There are two entrances into this park. The first one is off of Vista and the second entrance is off of Shadow Lane. The Vista entrance has a parking lot. You will have to park on the street if you go to the other entrance off of Shadow Lane. The variety of play equipment is good for most ages from the very little to older kids. There is a basketball hoops for practice, tennis courts, volley ball area with sand, horseshoe pit near the smaller kids equipment at the top of the Park near where the parking lot is located. There is covered tables both at the upper equipment and closer to the lower equipment. There is a ton of grassy space for blankets and kids. Bring a frisbee or other lawn toys for kids to play. There is a huge jungle gym, merry go round, swings etc. I agree with other reviewers that the parking lot is hard to find as it looks like you are driving into a residential area. Keep driving around the corner and you will see the parking lot. This park is often packed on weekends. It is near Jerry Whitehead Elementary school. read more

This is our go to park! It has a few different play areas with one large play area in the middle. In the summer months they have a canopy over it all to keep it from getting to hot to play on. There is lots of grass and trees to enjoy. There are also several covered patio areas with charcoal grills. Bring a basketball to play on the two half courts available or try your back hand on the tennis courts. And if neither of those are for you... then try the baseball field! There is a drinking fountain and a really nice bathroom building which is maintained really well. read more

This is a really nice park. Clean, with a big loop around it for exercise. One loop is about 1/2 mile. There are lots of dog walkers and my dog loved the big fields. We'll be back here a lot in the future :) Props to dog owners who seem to take care of pickup up after their pets here! read more

Such a great park with lost of shade and a couple choices for the kids to play. Its a wide open park, but the only downside is the parking lot. Other than that. We love coming here and can spend hours at the different parks they have. read more

One of sparks hidden gems of a park. This place is bustling on the weekdays and weekends. They have 3 open parks, 1 with handicapped park that is shaded during the summer. We usually take a nice walk around the perimeter and then end up at that park. We try to make and bring lunch so we can stay out longer without having to grab food. Nice manicured large grass area and plenty of fresh air! read more

I absolutely love this park. It has everything! The park is very inclusive, wheelchair accessible in most areas including some of the play grounds areas. They have tennis courts, plenty of open space for frisbee, soccer, cornhole, etc. The main play structure has a sun shade, all parks should have this! There are plenty of gorgeous trees all around, plenty of shade to just sit and relax. THANK YOU MAINTENANCE TEAM As a women, clean public restrooms are very much appreciated. Kudos to the maintenance team. read more

I have a tripod that I rescued from the Humane Society over 11 years ago. He is now 15 1/2 years old and blind. I try to take him to the park every morning for a walk. He's always on a leash but he loves to run all over the grass. 99% of the time there is always a dog running around off leash. this morning there were three dogs running around off leash. It doesn't do any good to call animal control because by the time they get there the dog and owner are gone. There is an owner that is there most mornings and the owner throws the ball with one of those things that fling the ball all the way down to the other end of the green. When I walked close enough for him to hear me several weeks ago I reminded him that all dogs were supposed to be on leash. His response was "unless they're chasing a ball." I just looked at him (like what a jerk). Then he said to me "move along, move along, move along". I wish there were several big signs stating dogs are to be on a leash. The only place that states that is on the bottom of the hours sign. There are just some people that think the rules apply to them. Sad to say! read more

I love this park. It's large and sprawling, many playgrounds for a range of age groups. There are bathrooms, benches, and lots of shade. I definitely recommend bringing a lawn blanket because benches to get claimed quickly. Also, there are areas you can reserve for parties and other get togethers. I will absolutely bringing my daughter back for more park playtime! read more

This is one of the best parts I have ever been to so far. I like how there's three different play areas for the children. The biggest play area is the most exciting. It has a place for toddlers to play and a place for preschoolers to play. My son likes the climbing structure the most we call it the spiderweb. I really like how the part has tried to find someway to make shade! There is lots of grass and lots of room for many people to come! The reason why I gave the park before is because there's trash on the ground like cigarette butts Band-Aids and bottles. At the park closest to the parking lot it stinks. It smells like dirty trash that's been sitting here for a few weeks. Another downfall is the parking lot. It doesn't seem big enough for the amount of space at the park. If the parking lot was bigger I'd feel more comfortable to throw a birthday party here because then people would find a space! read more

This is such a beautiful park! It has one large play area for kids and three smaller ones. There are large grass fields and cement paths that go all the way through and around the park. The park also has a horse show pit, basket ball and tennis courts, and a volley ball area (the net needs replaced though). The park is kept really clean and everything is well maintained. I would definitely bring my son here more often if we lived nearby. read more

Because we are in NW Reno, this is a little bit far for us to go to frequently, but the kids love this park. Lots of green grass and plenty of different play areas. Live nearby, my dog and I walk there often , only complaint , wish they cleared the weeds around the perimeter behind the homes on Deep Creek Dr.. Also better grooming and removal of old leaves. But on the up side, it's a pleasant place to be with all the ugly desert scape surrounding us. I love the views of the mountains on the highest part of the park. Coyotes like this park sometimes, so beware if you walk there early. I'm so grateful to live near such a great park. read more

This is a great park. 4 different playgrounds, lots of grassy fields, a bathroom and even some shade over the main playground. It's a little big, though, especially if your kid is a runner. We love this park!! Unfortunately, when I visited last week, my car was one of two which were broken into. It was a weekday at around 2pm when the break in occurred, and the park was full of people! I had a purse on the floorboard of my passenger side so they smashed my window and stole it... be aware, and don't leave anything tempting visible! I filed a police report, and will be more cautious next time... but wanted to share this to let others know! read more

This park is one of the nicest in town. Everything is in working order, it's clean with and offers lots of fun stuff for children. They also have a swing for children with disabilities so they can have fun too. They have a large rope climbing structure for older kids and plenty of slides and stuff for toddlers. They also have a piece of yellow spinning equipment that is very popular that I haven't seen anywhere else. A very fun park for kids. There are shades put up over the slides and some equipment so it doesn't get so hot. read more

My son loves this park. It is nice and big for him to roam around and play. There are three separate play areas for the kids. Lots of grass for them to run around in or walk your dog. The location is kind of strange and hard to find if you are not used to this place. THe only thing I hate about this park is that it seems to attract punks who like to break things and spray paint on the slides etc. So annoying. read more

Awesome play area but the picnic shelters are a bit run down and the grounds keeping team could do a better job cleaning up litter (cigarettes and wrappers all through the grass). The park is big with lots of shady spots and many areas to BBQ. It's off the beaten path so don't be surprised when GPS takes you through a residential neighborhood to get here. read more

This park is AWESOME! To start off, it's very clean; you don't see trash lying around and the grass is cut regularly. It's beautiful. There are a good amount of trees, that can provide some shade for relaxing. (Bring a blanket!) There is a ton of grass and lots of room for for everyone to play! They have toys for all ages, from the little ones to the big kids! And not just the regular playground toys, you see at every park. They have a couple "regular" playgrounds and then one with a bunch of modern play equipment. There's a huge jungle gym, with all sorts of fun things to climb on, merry-go-rounds, teeter-totters, swings, and slides. Seriously, there is so much for kids to do at this park! And so much room for them to play! The main playground has a sort of artificial grass on it and the others are covered in wood chips. There are a couple shaded picnic areas. Perfect for a picnic (of course!) or a party. There are also some walking trails and it is a dog-friendly park. Of course it is expected that you clean up after your pup, but I always see dogs there! On the weekends, this place gets packed because it is such an amazing place to bring your kids! Did I mention there is a lot of parking too? I highly recommend this park. It has everything your little one's heart could desire and it is very well-kept. There is not another park like this in the Reno/Sparks area! read more

I love taking my boys to play here. They recently put up a canopy over the playground for shade which is so nice. The spinning thing? Whatever it's called is level with the ground which something I like becuase it reduces injury in my opinion. My oldest could play on that dang thing all day if I let him. There is a ton of grass and trees to provide shade. I think for my baby's birthday this year I'm going to do it here because they have a ton of shaded bench areas. The park has two other play areas, but I don't take my kids to play over there because it's not as well kept up. At first it's a little hard to find because it looks as though you are driving into a residential area, but have no fear... keep driving around and you'll see the park :) All in all, pah rah park is the perfect place to go out, play, maybe have a picnic and enjoy the sunshine! Recently moved to Sparks. I have taken my babies to a few parks in the Sparks area and was not impressed with any of them until I discovered Pah Rah park. It is now my favorite park. Really wish this park was closer to where we live, but its very worth the drive. The park is huge and the play equipment is the best in Reno/Sparks for the kids. They will LOVE it, especially at the main park playground with the artificial turf. The kids just have so much fun here. There are also BBQ facilities and covered picnic areas. Also huge areas of real grass, not just the artificial stuff. In the winter and fall the grass can get super soggy and you can't really walk on it, but in the warmer months its great. We just went to a little kid birthday party here last month, and it was great! There were two other kids having birthday parties here on the same day, and there was plenty of room for everyone, the park is huge. read more

Best park in Sparks. Can't get my daughter to leave. The rides, slides and toys are well maintained as is the entire facility. The grass needs some up-keep. Other than that, this park has new play structures and fun things added for both big kids and little ones. They had shade sails, but perhaps that did not work out.
