This is an eclectic sports bar with a surprisingly expansive menu. They start you out with chips and queso for the table (yum!). We had bbq pork egg rolls and fried pickles. Both were great! Food is ok.. some dishes are good. Service is what one would expect at a bar/grill Substitution prices are steep when cost of original item is already at the higher end. Cup of soup for $5 is over the top. Nearby restaurant has a party melt with fries and soup for $8..same thing at McBride's is 14.50. Rating is based on whole package.. Just ok. There are goods and bads. To start, it's a location where there aren't a ton of options, so people that live near here are going to live it because everything else is further away. Goods: it's fairly new and clean. Pretty large inside with a lot of seating. Food sizes are big, and prices are good for the money. So what's not to like. I was fairly unimpressed with the food. I got the burger, and it seems like it had a burger bath....not sure if anyone knows what that is. They asked how I wanted it cooked, and I always say medium rare. We decided to give this place a try and watch a college football game. We were very pleasantly surprised. The wait staff was great. I think the longest i had to wait for a beer was 5 minutes. The food was great. I had the shepherd's pie which was filling and tasted great. My girlfriend had the chicken wings and she thought they were delicious. Prices were good. The inside is a cross between a wisconsin restaurant with a high class bar area which strangely works. There is a great selection of beers on tap and some good specials. This business was previously owned by a friend of mine (RIP Shawn) I visited last Sunday with a couple of friends. The beer menu is always awesome. The free nacho chips and cheese is a positive gesture but the cheese is out of a can and you can tell. I passed on it. We eventually needed to eat something. We chose the Irish nachos. These nachos were devoured but not for the reasons you may think. The nachos basically had waffle fries, caned cheese and sour cream. When you are drinking, even white castle seems heavenly. Beyond that, its nice décor and ambience. If they can get the food quality under control, it would be 4 star for sure. read more

Solid bar with good pub food. While I'm sitting here, the place on a Monday night is a good 80% full. Initial impressions are positive. We're ordering various items off the menu, so we'll see how the kitchen handles themselves. Update in a little bit... 1. Fish and Chips; battered properly and not tasting like out of a frozen bag. After hearing much about this bar opening I decided to step in one night. It seemed like a drab night, but the service was anything but! Even with a half empty room, the service was friendly, helpful and our bubbly server was a pro at timing. This place seems to shine with its selection of drinks. The varied selection of brews is good to me! The food menu is what you'd expect from a pub, but boy are they solid! I could've settled with just the soup, it was so good. But I'm glad I stayed for the full meal. I'll definitely be coming back, and I'm hoping for more business so they stick around here a while! read more

I had been meaning to try this place for some time. My wife and I had some time before a kid pick up, so we went in for a quick dinner and a couple of beers. We had to wait a few minutes before our waitress came by, but once she engaged, she was terrific. Beers came quickly, my wife got one she knew and loved, and tried one that our waitress recommended, and it was good as well. The sausage queso and chips were complimentary and was tasty. The fried pickle spears were good as well, with a spicy sauce that came with it. My wife ordered the sliders, and they were HUGE! Like 5 of them came out and served with a heap of fries. Definitely enough for two, and for $9 a good value. I had the boneless wings with a habanero mango sauce, which were good as well. Overall, atmosphere was lively, a lot of TV's for watching your favorite game and the service was very friendly and timely. She was great! (Can't remember her name, but was awesome). Went in to have a drink and play games, their wine is cupcake BLAH so ordered a draft beer that was 2/3 beer and 1/3 foam. Is that normal? Maybe when you are a middle age woman yes it is. Not cool. AMAZING RESTAURANT!!! I love the service and the food was amazing! I got a chicken caprese panini and it was great!!! The waffle fries and tater tots were too crispy for my liking, but my friends loved them and said they were perfect. Sangria was delicious! McBride's has what I would vote as the best Rueben sandwich in the Chicagoland area, the corned beef if tender, not tough or fatty and the marble rye is soft and fresh. Service is always good. This place is an incredible establishment. I'm live very close to this restaurant and I sometimes stop in to get some food. Everything is excellent. I really enjoy their club sandwich but they have plenty other delicious appetizers and meals. They have an outdoor patio for seating during the summer as well and the inside is decorated very well. If you want to sit down for a while, watch sports, enjoy great food for a great price, and talk with friendly people then I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant. I asked Lindsay since this is an Irish pub if they have waffle gravy fries. She never heard of it so I explained it and she was more than happy to have the cooks make it. They were solid like no other! Waffle fries with brown gravy and shredded cheese on top! It's always been one of my favorite Irish pub grub! Definitely ask for gravy waffle fries next time your in! I have had lunch here a few times in the past. The food is good. I just had their soup and salad, they sided it with a mozzarella bread stick. Very good! I am going back just for that. This is a great neighborhood place. I recommend coming on Fridays and getting the all you can eat fish fry it is consistently delicious with a Blue Moon. Good eats!!!! We went to McBride's on a Hawks playoff night so the place was crowded. The good news is, the way they planned the bar area, there was plenty of room. It took a long time to get a table but that was expected. We killed time at the bar. The drinks were good and a very good tap beer selection. Hostess was great as I checked in on the progress of the table. Once seated we had a good waitress named Kelli. She was very attentive and on the spot. As for the food- it was good. I had a tasty chicken sandwich, the buffalo chix wrap was good and the wind were as well ( note- hot IS HOT!). outside seating will be nice once weather improves. I just found my new local favorite!!! My husband took me here for lunch to check it out; $5 burger, $10 tub Sundays. When I walked in the first thing I noticed was how clean everything looked and smelled. We dined on the patio. I was so impressed with the atmosphere and friendliness of the staff. The burger I had was awesome especially considering the price. It was well seasoned. This place is just what the neighborhood needed. One of my favorite pubs in the western suburbs. Great food, good beer selection and nice staff!

What a nice place to grab a drink and eat! Located in western suburbia (Eola Road, south of Ogden), McBrides is a welcome treasure. We had Shepard's Pie (the best I've had in the greater Chicago area), fish and chips (wife's favorite pub food), an order of bacon wrapped fried jalepeno poppers (4 to an order - and quite large), and the complimentary tortilla chips and queso dip. All excellent and great, attentive, service from Jordan, our server. A bit of draft and craft beer for me and apple sangria and a bomb pop cocktail for my wife! Very good restaurant. My daughter and I tried this gem yesterday for lunch. It is right in our backyard. The pretzel sticks were delicious. It was just the two of us and we were expecting pretzels the size of a mozzarella stick, so we ordered the 6 piece instead of the 3. We were pleasantly surprised when the waiter brought out the pretzel sticks that were more the length of Italian breadsticks. We ended up taking 3 home and my daughter felt that they reheated well. I ordered the mango habanero wings with a side of waffle fries. They were large, juicy, flavorful and no overbearing heat. My daughter had the buffalo chicken BLT. Great to have a good restaurant/bar in the neighborhood! We've been here 5-6 times since they opened. We've experienced consistently good service and food. They provide chips and a spicy cheese dip complimentary. They have great specials throughout the week, we usually go on Wednesdays when kids eat free with adult purchase and domestic bottles are $1.50. Today I had the Tuscan chicken sandwich with fries and my husband had the spicy chicken sandwich, both were nice size portions and good. A group of us went for dinner. A few ordered the $5 burger special. Each family had purchased a coupon ($15 for $30 worth of food). We get the bill & are told that we can only use 1 coupon/table & that the $5 specials were excluded. Our server was great & apologetic; the manager, not so much. She was rude & insensitive & admitted they've had problems weekly with coupon redemption which would indicate they should ask customers, up front, if they have coupons & explain their policy to alleviate any issues. Instead of accommodating us, they upcharged the $5 special on one families' ticket & redeemed only 1 coupon even though we had 2 tables (1 for adults and 1 for kids). There were 6 families (22 people) that would have been repeat customers & that have many friends in the area. Your loss. * To alleviate the problem, ask your customers, up front, if they have coupons and explain your policy even if the fine print is on the coupon. Problem solved. If your staff admits it's a problem weekly, as an owner I would implement a system to bring in business and foster great customer service as opposed to turning locals and their friends away. To imply we were trying to go against the policy is insulting and offensive. A simple apology for any misunderstandings would've faired better. read more

I have been here twice and the service and cost was very good. Once on a weekend and once on a weekday. The band and noise level on weekend was very loud, but very nice otherwise.
