Staff is rude and unhelpful. Always act like you're bothering them just by being there. Especially if you sit at the bar. It's always "what do you want?". We got a Groupon from here because it's close to our house and neither had come before. The restaurant was big, modern with lots of dressing and very empty on a Sunday evening. We assumed you had to seat yourself because the couple that walked in a second before us just sat in a booth. Waitress came over shortly and gave us menus and took our drink order. We received our food rather quickly, I got the Four Leaf Clover appetizer that was really large and my fiance got the Moo and Oink burger. My Mac and cheese bites and chicken tenders were juicy and the mozzarella sticks and mini burgers were average. My fiance said the burger was nothing to write home about and was a bit dry. He got mashed potatoes as his side and it was obviously from a box. Nothing special to eat here but the server was polite and attentive. Very roomy inside, the food is okay. I got a burger and fries. The burger was a previously frozen patty, and the fries were tasteless. My wife got a chicken sandwich which she liked, and my sister shared a steak sandwich with her boyfriend. Our server was not that attentive but we were pretty low maintenance. They had a band which played mostly wedding type stuff but they were pretty good. The place has all kinds of people, young and old. They give you free chips when you get there, but the chips lacked salt. Like I said, the place is okay, but I don't know if I'd go back unless I was in the neighborhood. read more

Only place near where I was working so I swung into this awesome little Irish pub for some lunch. Got there as soon as they opened & I was the first patron on a Wednesday. Bartender greeted me right away & was super friendly! I ordered the buffalo chicken salad and oh man was it fantastic! We come here all the time. More than we should, but it's right by our house and we love sitting on the patio (and we haven't been kicked out yet). They are always nice and my 6 yo will actually sit still there so that's a plus. The food is good, typically comes out pretty quickly, and the portions are generous. The prices have gone up but I'm assuming that is COVID related and oh well. They draw a pretty eclectic crowd and everyone seems to enjoy themselves. Some servers are more knowledgeable/experienced than others, but again likely a post covid thing. Even so, management does a good job of following up and checking in. There is one bartender/server who is by far their rockstar. Why can I not remember her name? I suck. I will Edit when I remember, but she deserves all the shout outs! Stopped in for dinner on St. Paddy s Day. Wasn't sure what to expect. Long line? Crazy drunks? Both? Ended up going around 5:45 and had about a 10 minute wait for a table. While waiting plenty of revelers came and went and most were polite except for a group of 20 something women that found it necessary to drop multiple F bombs in the waiting lobby where I was with my 9 year old. That was fantastic. Of course that's no fault of McBride's. Got seated and the wait began. I'm not sure if it was just bad timing or what but we probably didn't even get a look from a waitress for a good 10 minutes. When she finally did arrive she was attentive but for the end when we needed to get out of there. Just a little slow bringing the check. Meals ordered varied between pasta, appetizers and the special which was the Corned Beef. Being that I'm of an age where I should have at least tried this before, (I hadn't), I went ahead and ordered it. Food came out pretty fast for size of the crowd. Pasta was devoured, appetizers were picked at (too full from the free chips and cheese) and my Corned Beef arrived. It tasted like I figured it would. Bland, not much flavor at all. Couple pieces were chewy. The soda bread was fantastic but maybe that's because I haven't had bread in weeks. The green Miller Lite was delicious. Anyway, I've been here for lunch a few times and the portions are generally huge. St. Patrick's day was just a little busy and that's OK. This is still a great neighborhood spot. read more

I'm not really a burger fan, but I love theirs, cooked to order, on a yummy bun, with side choices in generous portions. On Sun and Mon, they are only $6.00. This place is very close to my house but I have never made it over. Last night we finally made it. Very clean, and open place. Family/group friendly seating. Friendly staff, huge beer menu. My burger was just ok. My wife enjoyed her chicken sandwich, and my friends got ribs that they enjoyed. My friends said this location is much brighter and welcoming compared to the original in joliet. Im not one to frequent bars, but if I was looking for a quick bite, this is an option. Okay, always fun to have some live music at a bar, but it's still dinner hour, and the music is so loud you can't carry a conversation. We chose to move out to the patio, which was crowded with other diners trying to get away from the racket. The ash trays were near the seating area, and the whole patio smelled like stale cigarettes. We waited about 20 minutes. Three servers came out. One had the four tables surrounding us. She went to each table and asked how they were doing and did not even look at us, sitting there with no menus, drinks, food, etc. I said out loud "okay, that's enough" and stood to walk out. The menu is typical bar food: burgers, sandwiches, salads, etc. It's a mix of everything. There's a good variety of craft beer too. There's something for everyone, you really can't go wrong. I had the Southwest burger, cooked medium to my liking. Despite the Wednesday night crowd, I liked the busy atmosphere. This McBride's location is tucked in the southeastern corner of Aurora, where there isn't much to do or see outside of the many subdivisions. The service was OK, but we didn't see much of our server and everything seemed to take forever. She was in a rush to get our drink orders but never came back to see about another round. Decided last minute to go out on date night. Had heard a lot of positive feedback about McBrides North so decided to find out for ourselves. When we arrived on a Friday night the parking lot was full and the restaurant was very busy. Having said that, the place is spacious and laid out well. It caters to families but also has a very nice long roomy area at the bar with high tops. We went to the bar to have a drink while we had a brief wait for a table to open. Wait staff were very friendly and quick to take your order. One thing that I like was the fact it wasn't extremely loud with music or TV. You could easily have a normal conversation or choose to watch any number of TVs When we sat down at our table, our waitress Denise was very friendly and knowledgable. She gave us complimentary chips and queso while we reviewed the menu. She recommended the BBQ pork egg rolls and also the jalepeno poppers. Both were very good. I decided to gibe this place another try. Unlike baseball two strikes and I'm out. The first time I came here I had a taco salad with cold, tasteless ground beef. Awful. This is my third time eating there and I'm not sure why I keep going back. Atmosphere is gopd ip bu the bar, but the food is average at best. I feel while owned by the same people, the food/kitchen is much better at their original location in S. Plainfield. Food came out quickly, but is bland and nothing special. Chips and queso complimentary, but no attempts at refilling by the staff, service was good overall. ADDITIONALLY, I think they need a thorough cleaning of their kitchen, BOTH my wife and I had significant stomach issues within 1-hr of eating there (running to the bathroom), not saying anything beyond that. We only both ate the queso. BEER MENU - slightly above average if you like craft beer, but there is almost nothing on this menu you can't find easily right down the road at the local liquor store. If you're going to have a craft beer selection you should always have a couple things I can't find easily or already have in my fridge at home. Unless you're going for only drinks, I'd pass. But damn, it is about 42 degrees in this place. It's the end of July and I'm used to restaurants turning their air down too much, which is why I brought a jacket with me. We were going to see a show at the Paramount. After seeing good reviews on Yelp, I decided to call and give it a shot. When I called, the woman who answered the phone had never heard of the Paramount. That's ok, I thought. Not everyone is interested in theater. So I made a reservation. (Didn't need one. We were the only ones there at 3:30 on a Sunday). Tres greeted us at the door. When I saw our name (and nobody else's) on the reservation list, I kind of laughed to myself and said to Tres, "well, that's us! We're here!". To which he replied, "swag..." (not sure if we have the same definition of that word, but, ok....) Chips and cheese on the table when we sat was a hopeful beginning! Tres ended up being our server as well. I'm not sure if he ever waited a table in this establishment before. I asked what the soups were. He thought and then answered "chicken tortilla and french onion.". I LOVE french onion soup "Baked with cheese?", my husband asked. "Ummmm, yeah, I think. Yeah". I asked if it was sweet or salty (I like it on the salty side). He said it was salty. We needed another minute to peruse the menu. He came back to let me know that the cooks said that their soup was sweet. Ok... We ordered. My husband had the club wrap which he said was pretty good. My son ordered a bacon cheeseburger. Tres asked for a temperature. "Medium rare" (it came out well done). I don't know why restaurants ask for temperatures if they are just going to cook the hell out of everything. I ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich and I wanted to try the jalapeno poppers. Nobody else in my family would eat them, so I was hesitant to get an entire order myself, but they sounded very good! I asked Tres how many came in an order. He said 6. "Well, 3 jalapenos cut in half to make 6". I don't know where he got that from or if he made it up!! FOUR full peppers wrapped in bacon, stuffed with homemade bacon cream cheese came to our table. "Careful! They are temperature hot and REALLY pepper hot!" That might have been nice to know BEFORE I ordered them. (jalapeno poppers are not usually too hot). I understand that some people really enjoy that 'pepper hot ' taste. I am not one of them. They burned my mouth so badly that I only had one bite. Clearly I couldn't eat them as the entire plate was still there. He never checked back on us until he started to clear plates. He took the plate away. I said how they were so hot and joked (not really) about how he should tell people before they order (clearly he had no idea what they were since he thought there were 3 peppers cut in half). My kind of place! I've been to the McBride's on 52 a handful of times and really enjoyed that location. This one is roughly half way between my folks and I giving us a perfect get-together location. The food and beer menu's here are the same as the Rt52 location, which include a great deal of Americana choices. I went with a chicken wrap that came with a tasty coleslaw salad interior. Their beer menu here also offers a great variety, I managed to find a rare beer that I haven't seen elsewhere. Ambiance-wise I like the layout of the restaurant. 80% restaurant with a half wall divider for their long bar. They also have a small back section with a few video games and dart boards. During warm weather hours they also have an outdoor patio. Everything to like here, really glad to have found this location. Cheers! read more

SO GOOD! My daughter ordered the pot roast sandwich (pot roast, onions, cheese in a hoagie bun with gravy on the side) and the crispest curly fries we've ever eaten. Tender and the gravy was perfect. I ordered the Pub Club sandwich with Cole slaw. Yummy! We have mozzarella stuffed breadsticks for an appetizer-again, so crispy on the outside and gooey goodness on the inside. Served with marinara. They bring chips and queso to the table with your drinks. Really good. Portions were huge!!! We took half our food home. We definitely will be back! Second trip-disaster! We love this place! We have been here many times with small (4 people) and large (10 people) groups. We have always had a great time. The food is good and we love the atmosphere. Just ok. There are goods and bads. To start, it's a location where there aren't a ton of options, so people that live near here are going to live it because everything else is further away. Goods: it's fairly new and clean. Pretty large inside with a lot of seating. Food sizes are big, and prices are good for the money. So what's not to like. I was fairly unimpressed with the food. I got the burger, and it seems like it had a burger bath....not sure if anyone knows what that is. They asked how I wanted it cooked, and I always say medium rare. It was well done, but that could also be from the burger bath. Tried several other dishes and none of them were really all that good.
