I ordered online at 6:13 pm. I arrived at 6:20. I asked about my order twice to 2 separate workers and they claimed it wasn't ready. I ordered 2 sandwiches which takes no time to make. I am just now leaving right now at 6:45 pm. After asking to check on my food the 3rd time, my food had been sitting on the counter the entire time I was there. Extremely disappointing. While out shopping with my daughter we placed a curbside pick up order through the McAlisters app. After arriving and parking in the designated curbside parking area, we checked in via email. We waited approximately 15 minutes before I finally just went in to ask about our food. The employee promptly informed me they no longer have the screen that notifies them when someone arrives and checks in as she motioned towards my order that was just sitting in the middle of the counter. If they no longer have the ability to provide curbside service then they should communicate that to the customers in some capacity. Whether it is notes over the curbside parking signage or disabling the option in app. But it should not be standard practice to let the customer wait, their order just sitting getting cold, and an attitude of indifference. read more

I placed a take out order. the app said it wasnt ready but after 10 minutes of sitting in the parking lot I went in and it had just been sitting there. we got home and the food was cold, not just sitting there for a few minutes cold, like hadn't been put in the oven cold. the sandwich was falling apart and stuff had just been thrown on it. the sub was greasy and just didn't taste good. the two sugar cookies we bought looked like they had been sat on as soon as they came out of them oven and put in a bag. thats what I'm most mad about because you can literally look at the cookies and know you shouldn't sell them. they were hard and probably a millimeter thin. Hit the back button. I'm telling you. You're still here? Okay this is it. The good news: The chili was okay. The service was fairly quick. And accurate. Um. Yeah. The bad news: Zero friendliness from staff, very suspicious and questionable taste in poorly prepared salad, in addition to tortilla strips the color of dog poop and maybe 2 pieces of browned avocado - versus what they advertised the salad to look like.. (see pictures) the one that looks like something mixed it all up and sat on it is how I looked when I opened the box. Anyway! I'll go on to add dirty floors, 4 employees working the preparation window which means 1 of them was actually doing anything, and I'll go on to fully express just the overall vibe of absolute distain and annoyance given to every guest who walked in. My advice: if you are absolutely positively committed to coming here, I would suggest using the curbside pickup feature.. and don't get the salad. You know they place is slow when the people at the register tell you that we are 30 minutes behind on all orders. We I can say that was an optimistic estimate. I think they were having to grow the lettuce to make a salad 50 minutes and still no food. I hope you have better luck than we did. When I'm in MS and staying at my parents' house, I often seek out places I can sit for a while that has wifi b/c mom and dad don't have internet. McAlister's is one of the places I frequent when visiting b/c not only do they have free wifi, but they have great food. The sandwiches I've tried here have all been great, but it's the soups and the spuds which I really love. The potato and tortilla are my two favourite soups. Yum! The spuds are HUGE. I think they take two really large potatoes and shove them together to make one big one. You can get them loaded down with just about anything and they are scrumptious. Another favourite of mine is the queso and chips. They have some of the best queso I've eaten. Often, hubby and I will order the queso and chips and share a spud. It's always more than enough food! Many people rave about their sweet tea. I'm probably one of the only people born and raised in the deep south who can't stand tea. Oh well.. my loss. They do make some awesome lemonade and I'm always down for that! While they don't have servers, they do have guys and gals who walk around to pick up empty plates and get you refills on your drinks. They're always nice and polite in that sweet southern way! It's a large restaurant with plenty of seating. They even have a very nice outside patio area. Everything is kept nice and clean. I've been here quite a few times and have sat for several hours using the wifi. I've never been rushed off and they continue to fill my drink the entire time i'm there. We did have a McAlister's here in Jacksonville for a short time, but unfortunately it didn't last. :( So, I have to wait until I visit MS to get my McAlister's fix. read more

I used to love this place. The food is great, the people are friendly, and it's in a great location. The reason I am only able to give it three stars is the price vs. portion size. The potatoes are HUGE but they put a thin layer of toppings on top. It's all potato. It is filling though. The new pasta dishes are incredibly small. Delicious but I found I was still hungry after eating it. Really need to up the size on this one. Also, and a solid one star deduction is the all-in-one soda machine. Those are terrible on all levels. You want coke you get lemon coke. You want Dr Pepper, yep, lemon Dr Pepper. I used to be so impressed with this place. Lower the prices or increase the portion sizes. As with all food prep: Make it like you were going to eat it. The tea is really solid of course. First ever review on Yelp - put in a curbside pickup order in for a tea because I have the tea pass (left a 15% tip as well). So, unfortunately, the fact that I have not had McAlisters for several years means I was able to tell a distinct difference in food prices and quality. To me, part of the appeal was the food was delicious and the prices were very reasonable. Don't get me wrong, the food was still delicious and relatively quick. I still enjoyed it and will continue to visit when I'm in town. This restaurant gets a middle of the pack rating from me and their sandwiches are still substantially better than Subway. read more

The only good thing I have to say is the girl that took my order was friendly, as for the food I would have rather eaten dog food!! I have my elderly Mother living with us and she really wanted a spud. When my husband got our food here I was in shock over what I was seeing. My Mother and I both got spuds which were so overcooked they weren't edible and not to mention hardly anything on either of them. Let me say that I used to love McAlister's until big brother Newk's came to town. I still enjoy a good sandwich or spud, so this choice for dining was fine with me. We entered the store and I noticed they remodeled the place and it looked great. I have no idea how long it has looked like this because we rarely come here. There was one couple in front of me and soon others trickled in after me. I am greatly disappointed that one person was working a register when in the past there have been multiple people trying to take a person's order. Regardless, the service was SLOW. they gave use the blinker things when the food was ready but the staff was not making them blink. They simply roamed the store looking for a family that appeared to be eating what they were carrying. The non-use of the blinker system pretty sure delivered our nacho basket to another family.
