Unfortunately the food was a big disappointment. Two of us order sandwiches, that were cold (asked for toasted/grilled) that were terrible. Neither of us even ate half. Another person ordered a burger that was ok. Not terrible, but not great for sure. Maybe other menu choices are better...but don't order the sandwiches

Please ignore the…read moreprior bad reviews and I encourage those who left bad reviews to give it another try as the new owners have significantly improved the food. The Ambiance is quaint with early 20th century pieces scattered about and a copper ceiling. We started with the fried pickles spears which were hand-breaded, not to juicy where the breading falls of when you eat them, and very good dill flavor with the herbed breading. The onion rings were also hand breaded, crunchy, and delicous. The in-house made pastrami is very good, the brisket had great flavor and a nice smoke ring, the 1 lb loaded baked potato was very filling and the toppings were plenty. As always salt everything to your taste. The BBQ sauce on the table was sweet smokey and tangy. You have to ask for spicy BBQ which they add the heat to the house sauce and bring it to the table. BBQ business is hard enough and trying to overcome the ineptness of prior owners and managers difficult. This place is worth the stop and head across the street to take your picture with the large leg lamp afterwards before the city is forced to remove it. I hope they don't but Warner Brothers is suing the city to remove it.

What's not to love about Midway Deli? First, the food. I love a deliciously huge deli sandwich. It…read moreis a guilty pleasure to enjoy that I frequently forget that I do enjoy because a nice deli sandwich gets buried amongst all of the other equally delicious cuisine choices when I get hungry. I've been a customer of Midway Deli for 20 years and the food and service have never lacked once in all these years. The options for sandwiches are perfect and hit the spot. I love the location in Norman. Driving there through the nearby beautiful neighborhood enhances how special deli really is. I love the options, the ambiance of the seating and space. I love the accessibility of the bench outside with the solar powered phone charger, too. Basically, I love this place and you will, too.

We visited for lunch on Friday and there was a long line but it moved very quickly and we were able to find a seat with no problems. Outside there was a live musician performing and it was mainly covered. Of course we had to try the Vulcan sandwich (they're known for it) and we also tried a baked potato and another sandwich. We were SO impressed! When they came out, they looked like regular sandwiches but surpassed our expectations with the fresh and delicious flavors. Love this local, casual sandwich spot and would enjoy bringing friends back here.

This lil meat market and deli is a hidden treasure. It's located smack dab in the middle of a…read moreresidential neighborhood and is a great asset to the community. It reminds me of my childhood when I'd frequent the area market for my sitter and sometimes for my own sweet tooth. What great memories of those fun days gone by. After looking up meat markets in the area, Hardesty was the first to pop up so off I went...ready to check it out. Upon entering the heavy door immediately that 'little giddy girl feeling' from my childhood days came rushing over me. It took me back to the days I walked to my local market as a child for many of the same goods and I felt right at home! There was a particularly-hard-to-find-deli meat that I was in search of which they didn't quite have, but a suitable substitute was found. The market was clean and the employees (and even customers) were so, so hospitable and friendly. The gentleman that waited on me was kind/patient and graciously gave me sample after sample of not-so-common deli meat/cheese to explore. It was fun taste-testing foods that I hadn't heard of or eaten before. I ended up purchasing much more than I intended to, but was extremely pleased with each item. The market also has fresh vegetables, homemade preserves, desserts, pickled goods, okra, sauces and more. What a delight! This is now my new meat market/deli...home away from home. Thank you HARDESTY for being such a bright spot in the community and a wonderful place to travel for my meat/deli needs. You are well worth the miles from my home state to yours. You rock!
