Moderately crowded. Did not have the correct bread for a Reuban sandwich. Iasked for lemonade, out of that. Waited for our food about 20 minutes. Wife had to send her food back due to them not realising her sandwich was supposed to be made without cheese. I was finished with my dinner about 5 minutes before my wife's food arrived. I like this place. They have the best BLT's in all of Lawton, plus great soups and salads. Their service is superb.

Food is very good. Waitress awesome. Atmosphere amazing. But, oh my gosh you need a vaccine to just use the bathroom, and the floors are disgusting in the bar area. Great service and food. It was a Friday evening and the place was crowded. The counter person was great. We soon came to realize they were a little shorthanded and prepared ourself for the possible delay in our food. But the manager (Taylor) was in back and out front backing up and we received our food in a very timely manner. It was prepared better than usual in fact. My sister and I stopped in for a takeout order. We were greeted kindly at the counter, although it was a bit weird to order. I wasn't really sure who to order from. I ordered a cheese sandwich with no tomato with Mac and cheese and an unsweetened strawberry tea. I really wanted a raspberry unsweetened tea, but they no longer have that. We sat down at a table to wait for our orders. There was a nice space for tables, but it was a bit dark. The bathroom was clean and well-stocked, so that's a plus. I took my food home and ate it several hours later. The grilled cheese reheated very well. I loved the bread it was on, and it was very tasty. The Mac and cheese was ok. I had to add salt and pepper, but it was ok. Thankfully it wasn't mush like some of the other places. The iced tea was sooo good, but I wish it had just a bit more strawberry. Good fresh food and customer service goes a long way to set the tone of a restaurant. I am a huge fan of the salads at McAlister's and really enjoy the quick service available by using the app to place my order. Every time I arrive, my salad is always ready. The customer service was by far horrible. The girls at the front were talking away while food sat ready to be taken out. I waited almost 15 minutes out of my 30 minute work break for a to go order I made 10 minutes before EVEN ARRIVING? They were not busy, not in any type of rush other then to talk to eachother, I'm usually a big fan of this place but after today I will not be back, the manager with glasses and darker hair was also not doing a single thing about it and was quite rude with the one interaction I did have with him. I went to this location once before and came back a few weeks ago while in town for a family visit. I walked in to use the bathroom the blonde behind the counter who I had encountered the last time I visited was just as friendly. But one other employee, a girl with green hair and glasses didn't say hi and instead gave me a rude look when I walked in. After I used the bathroom and sat down for a few minutes, the blonde girl gave me a small water. Manager on duty came over a few minutes later and asked if I was doing good. Overall a clean location but the employee that didn't say anything kept looking at me and forced me to leave after a few minutes of sitting there. I enjoy McAlister's and hope this changes. Blonde was fantastic with other customers who walked in so I hope she gets a good compliment for her customer service skills. read more

See update below this review: What happened? I have this a five stars a few years ago. Was surprised how big their croissants were and how good their food was. Haven't had a croissant since--until today. I ordered the horseradish roast beef. And half dumpling soup. It fit in one hand. It was supposed to have grilled onions. It didn't. The chicken and dumpling. Well I knew I wouldn't be happy. No one can make them like my mom. It was basically chicken noodle soup with pasta type dumplings tossed in. So that's on me! So disappointed. And still hungry. Update: i had to move this up a star after going back for two reasons. 1. We went back and it was not chaotic and food only half fixed. I had potato soup. It was very good. I've always considered chili's to have the best potato soup but I may have to change that. And the sandwich. Same as above but very different. Not soggy and limp. Rounded out, full looking, the ingredients placed on it attractively. Much better than previous experience. And tasty. Could taste the light flavor of horseradish. Not hot or biting but flavorful. 2. I was quite surprised to see a response --privately--from McAlister's national or regional. Not sure. But the did contact the local establishment. It is nice to see they have a troubleshooter on social media to monitor and respond to people. You don't feel out in the cold. Thanks McAlister's for that. This was my first visit to this restaurant chain. I came with a co-worker to meet and support two of our clients that are in the Lawton, OK area. I actually rate it 4.5 stars! The .5 missing star is due to the tight fitting of sitting areas. We werent quite in the lap of the next table, but unless you're a size 0 clothing size, its quite the yoga experience getting in and out of the seating areas without bumping others. The food is excellent! The restaurant appeared to be clean, and kept this way through peak business hours. They have an app you can order on for pick up as well. This came in handy, as during my visit their computer system shut itself down, and started updating, right in the middle of lunch rush! However, the system that handled app orders was still functional. So, even though we ate in restaurant, I ordered via app. read more

First time ever to McAlister's, I've had a sandwich from here before and it wasn't the best, but I also got it after it had sat around for a while so it wasn't fresh. But my actual first time here, the sandwich was really good. I got the McAlister Club, it was really nice. But even better, the customer service was through the roof. PEYTON was such a sweetheart! She explained the menu, gave me options, cracked jokes, added military discount without me asking. She made the experience 10x better. However, the portion sizes for the side items are very small. We stopped in for lunch today and we usually get good food and service. Today however was not the case. I ordered the max spud baked potato and the toppings were good, the potatoes were maybe half cooked. We also ordered sweet teas with our food and they were not sweetened. I went to the counter and told the lady that took our order, her response was there are some sugar packets over there for your tea. I looked Ather and replied that there was no sweetener at all in the sweet tea and she gave me the same answer as before instead of finding out what the problem was. About halfway through eating I heard and saw someone stirring the sweet figuring there had been no sugar added when the tea was made. I should have went to the counter again but was disgusted and wanted to get out of there. We don't get to eat out often but don't think I will eat there again. read more

We were happy to see that they were open for dining in and that no one was there. But only because it had just opened. I'm sure it was busy later as it's so popular! This made it perfectly safe for us to go in and eat. It took us awhile to figure out what we wanted as we haven't been in over a year due to Covid. Once we ordered though, the food came out super fast. I've never had it come out this fast. It was hot and very fresh. The food was so good! It honestly was the best visit we have had in almost four years. I feel as I should add that the previous 4 years were not at this location, but rather in San Antonio, which was not as good as this one. We placed an online order on the app, and got a free item using points that had built up in the app. My husband went in and picked it up easily and quickly. The food was delicious and the order was 100% correct, including all the condiments. It was a great alternative to burgers and pizza and was comparable in price. Shortly after publishing my last review the owner of McAlister's contacted me to apologize for the experience I had at their establishment. She kindly addressed each issue I'd had and made a promise for her employees to do better. She then welcomed my fiancé and I back to her deli for a complimentary meal on her behalf as an apology for the service we did recieve. I am always willing to give a place a second shot (if I have the time and money) and I was pleasantly surprised by the improvement upon our second visit. Our food was served promptly and in much better condition than the time before (no cold soup!). My fiancé ordered a club sandwich and chips. I ordered their chicken ceaser wrap and a garden salad. The garden salad was placed in a large soup bowl and had VERY fresh ingredients. The wrap included grilled moist chicken, crispy lettuce, and dressing wrapped into a whole grain tortilla. I was much happier with this meal than I was with my soup. My fiancé really enjoyed his sandwich which was packed FULL of meat. With that being said, it wasn't sloppy in presentation and although the sandwich was thick it wasn't spilling all over as he bit into it (an issue that I find really irritating with many delis). He also received a large portion of chips. We both also got cookies- which, quite honestly, is what earned this place 2 extra stars instead of 1. I had never tried their cookies before and both my fiancé and I were VERY impressed. The cookies were clearly fresh baked with delicious ingredients. They are large round cookies with gooey centers and slightly crispy edges. The chocolate chips were even still a bit melty making the baked goods even more enjoyable. Overall I was really happy with our second visit. Typically I would rate this place 4 stars (it just isn't quite "five star" - it has nothing super unique about it), but because of the way the owner handled our issues and the fact that every one of my concerns seems to have been fixed, really made me feel they deserved a full 5 stars. I got the Ruben sandwich. Was pretty good. Their sandwiches come with a pickle spear and a side. I got the potato salad for my side, was good but I've had better homemade. And it was surprisingly small. Small but tasty. As for the sandwich, it was a perfect combo of tangy, meaty, and cheesy. I loved it! The sweet tea could have been sweeter, but had a good flavor. I ordered to go, and it probably took about 10 minutes from ordering to getting out the door. Every time we place a to go order they forget something. Today we placed an order and they forgot a side order of sauce. When we went back in to get it, they only filled the tiny cup a 1/4 full. We ordered a side of soup and the cup was only 1/2 full. Another guy that was in there picking up his order, he was telling them that he didn't get his sour cream. They never apologized and it didn't seem to be a concern that their customers orders were not correct. McAllisters used to be one of my favorite places to go but I don't know if i'll be back anytime soon. read more

My husband did an online order on his way home, and the ticket said pick up time would be 7:36. After expressing his frustration to me at 7:58, he went inside to ask about our food. The girl he asked disappears for about another 5 minutes and brings a bag out and says "i had to reprint your ticket, i think it may have got picked up by another person." We ate at this location on March 6 for dinner. Arrived at 6pm and stood in line to order. Noticed that the person taking the order also was responsible for filling the drink orders, which took time away from helping the next in line. Also noticed that the cups were filled to the brim with ice, leaving less of the product being ordered to enter the cup. Nevertheless, we forged forward. My spouse ordered the Four Cheese Melt and I the McAlisters Club. Both were brought to our table in relatively little time as we were required to place a number given, in a stand on our table. When biting into my Club, things didn't seem right. It was because the preparer of the sandwich didn't remove all of the paper from the cheese and I bit into it and then pulled it out of my mouth. Not a good start, but figured it was a mistake that could be overlooked, so I moved on to piece #2. Again, I bit into the sandwich and pulled out paper from my mouth. So as not to look too dumb, I checked the third piece of sandwich and found nothing. Good news. But I also checked the fourth piece of sandwich and again there was paper that wasn't removed before cutting it into 4ths. So I took the two chewed up pieces or paper and the fourth sandwich up to the Asst. Manager, G****** P**** to show him the results. He apologized and said he would speak with the person who made the sandwich so this wouldn't happen again. I thanked him and sat down to finish my meal. To the Asst. Mgrs. credit, he did give me his business card with the notation that I would receive a free meal with a regular side and drink at the time of my next visit. Unfortunately, we were passing through Lawton, so doubt that we'll be able to take him up on his offer. And even if we were, not sure I want to get back to this establishment based on what happened. I ate at McAlister's Deli when it first opened in Lawton, my husband and I shared the muffaletta sandwich, they make them with a black olive spread on it. My husband doesn't like black olives and scraped his off. The next morning I was sick from both sides, sitting on toilet with trash bag in front you get the awful picture ewww! I was so sick I almost went to the hospital and I should have reported this to the DHS. I have never and will never eat there again. Buyer beware and eat at your own risk! read more

My Husband got us McAlister's to go last night. I love McAlister's usually, so I was excited, but this was awful. Both of our sandwiches were terrible. You would think it is hard to mess up a sandwich, but evidently not. I ordered The Veggie and instead they gave me The Veggie Club, which may have been fine had the bread not been so stale I literally almost chipped my tooth. The toasted stale bread could have doubled as a weapon. My Husband's sandwich was the same way. Worst McAlister's experience ever, which is particularly disappointing given the inordinate amount of time my Husband waited for the food to be prepared. Buddy and I Ordered and his sandwich(big nasty) was incredibly short on meat along with the sweet Chipotle chicken I ordered. We got the managers attention and told him. He said rhat its all measured out, even though the rable next to us havd the same sandwich eith 1/2 more meat, he denied that we were skimped and he basically looked at us like we were stupid and was shaking his head as he walked away. One of the nice cashiers had told us offline she would get more beef for the big nasty I was just dissapointed and wanted food in my belly. Usually I wait to write a review after I go a few times... But I have been going to mcalisters for years. It has always stayed the same. But this is my first time in this one. The staff was nice and welcoming and they answered all my questions. This place is crazy packed so I haven't came until today and I came when they first opened at 10:30 so I can beat the rush. The baked potatoes are great and huge. The potato salad is tasty. The sandwiches are delicious. The bread soup bowls are yummy too. And most of all I really enjoy the sweet tea!!! Oh can't forget the huge cookies!! My kids love those and I'm always buying them when we go with the kids!! I give it 4 stars instead of 5 because it's a popular place and it's hard to get in and out of there quickly. Which is not the restaurants fault it's just that popular....wonder if a Jason's Deli will open up soon.... read more
