This lil meat market and deli is a hidden treasure. It's located smack dab in the middle of a…read moreresidential neighborhood and is a great asset to the community. It reminds me of my childhood when I'd frequent the area market for my sitter and sometimes for my own sweet tooth. What great memories of those fun days gone by. After looking up meat markets in the area, Hardesty was the first to pop up so off I went...ready to check it out. Upon entering the heavy door immediately that 'little giddy girl feeling' from my childhood days came rushing over me. It took me back to the days I walked to my local market as a child for many of the same goods and I felt right at home! There was a particularly-hard-to-find-deli meat that I was in search of which they didn't quite have, but a suitable substitute was found. The market was clean and the employees (and even customers) were so, so hospitable and friendly. The gentleman that waited on me was kind/patient and graciously gave me sample after sample of not-so-common deli meat/cheese to explore. It was fun taste-testing foods that I hadn't heard of or eaten before. I ended up purchasing much more than I intended to, but was extremely pleased with each item. The market also has fresh vegetables, homemade preserves, desserts, pickled goods, okra, sauces and more. What a delight! This is now my new meat market/deli...home away from home. Thank you HARDESTY for being such a bright spot in the community and a wonderful place to travel for my meat/deli needs. You are well worth the miles from my home state to yours. You rock!

Lazy Sunday, so we stopped by this deli, and it was a perfect lunch…read more The Cubano is the best I've had in a while. It was very well balanced. I personally find turkey clubs pretty boring, but my wife loves them, and this one she gave 5 out of 5, so don't mind my opinion. The staff was very friendly and courteous. The place is always clean and tidy. The fried pickles were also very good, big fan. I like this place a lot. Give them a go and support local businesses!

Not my favorite because I'm indecisive and I like to review the menu if it's a new restaurant. Tried to order an Italian Stallion but they were out of hoagie rolls... and pepperoni. If many of your items are made on the hoagie then you should be ordering them in advance. Every free table had standing water on it. We had to get paper towels from the bathroom to dry it. We ordered 3 items. Only one came out. We did enjoy the complimentary pickle plate while we waited. We waited and then several minutes later they tried to deliver another sandwich to our table, but it wasn't ours. We sat at the table and watched the confusion going on in the kitchen. A server came out to see if we had ordered a specific item and we told her no and told her our order again. Had to show her the receipt. She finally came back with the correct item... a Reuben sandwich. There was probably two teaspoons of sauerkraut on the whole thing. Very disappointing. And they ask for a tip in advance

It…read moreis a guilty pleasure to enjoy that I frequently forget that I do enjoy because a nice deli sandwich gets buried amongst all of the other equally delicious cuisine choices when I get hungry. I've been a customer of Midway Deli for 20 years and the food and service have never lacked once in all these years. The options for sandwiches are perfect and hit the spot. I love the location in Norman. Driving there through the nearby beautiful neighborhood enhances how special deli really is. I love the options, the ambiance of the seating and space. I love the accessibility of the bench outside with the solar powered phone charger, too. Basically, I love this place and you will, too.

We visited for lunch on Friday and there was a long line but it moved very quickly and we were able to find a seat with no problems. Outside there was a live musician performing and it was mainly covered. Of course we had to try the Vulcan sandwich (they're known for it) and we also tried a baked potato and another sandwich. We were SO impressed! When they came out, they looked like regular sandwiches but surpassed our expectations with the fresh and delicious flavors. Love this local, casual sandwich spot and would enjoy bringing friends back here.

I've said this on another few reviews about other places, when you're driving by 56 deli don't judge this book by its cover. What a fantastic place, with a great team of people working there. Primarily a sandwich shop but they do run their daily specials. The special they had today today was meatloaf and potatoes with various sides. But their sandwiches are why we were there. Imagine a Subway® style line where you pick your bread, meat, trimmings, etc. Except everything's fresh, everything tasted homemade. Just amazing. And don't forget the dessert, we tried the banana pudding and it was as good as grandma's. I highly recommend if you're in the area, give them a try.

Growing up in Florida having great Cuban food, I'm very judgy on Cuban food. I went back on Wednesday and got a Cuban along with some deviled eggs and Banana pudding. First the staff is very friendly and helpful. It's a busy place, with both indoor and outdoor seating I was Alerted the Cuban is not on "Cuban" bread but rather on Sourdough. This sandwich is delicious, a bright mix of flavors with their Cuban sauce. A true to form Cuban is on the Cuban bread and pressed in a Panini. The 59 Deli gives the best I've eaten a run for first place, it's very close. The portions are plenty one sandwich fed two of us. The deviled eggs were very good. But the star of the meal was the banana pudding thick sorta whipped with nice banana pieces. Hands down the best I've had. Prices are very reasonable and affordable I will be making plenty of more trips there Do yourself a favor and go try them
