You can pretty much guarantee that in even in small towns there are Mexican restaurants. Not all are built the same. Los Generales is fantastic. The ambience reminds me of Arizona and instantly takes me back. The staff here are tremendous. So kind, all of them. The food, I had the Qusabirria, Birria in a quesadilla. Dang! That good. The refried beans were some of the best I've had in decades. Salsa was fresh but mild. They have a hot Smokey too, just ask for it. Los Generales should be on a stop for anyone hiking, visiting, or passing through for sure.

    Vegetarian burrito with Verde sauce

Good veggie options! My husband ordered a vegetarian burrito with Verde sauce. It was generously loaded with veggies like broccoli, spinach, peppers and onions. Healthy and filling after a nice long hike at the national recreation area. I ordered a Chile relleno plate and asked if I could do half cheese sauce and half enchilada sauce on it as I wanted to taste both the sauces. Our server was kind enough to graciously agree and got both the sauces on the side. Both were good but I liked the cheese sauce better! I did ask if the rice and beans were vegetarian and was told yes they were, I hope they were! Lol. The rice was flavorful but I didn't care for the refried beans. My little one enjoyed her cheese quesadilla and rice. Service was friendly and everything is reasonably priced. I will be back when in the area.

Found it by doing a trusty Yelp-when-on-the-go search, and as soon as we pulled up we could tell it was the right choice by the parking lot being full. This place wasn't too big, so not a ton of seating, but we did still get a table right away. The service was pretty good... fast, and decently attentive. You may have to flag someone down for a refill, but most of the time they were good about it. I ordered the chicken diablo, which is something I've gotten at several restaurants before. It's a bit different each place, but here it seemed especially different. Mostly because the sauce seemed more like a spicy chili (as in American chili, not a pepper) flavored sauce, whereas I guess other times I've had it it's maybe more tomato and chili (this time, the pepper) based? It was also a bit more of a paste consistency than saucier like others. None of these differences were a bad or good thing... just different. At first it seemed only decently spicy, but then by the end it seemed pretty spicy. Definitely don't order unless you really do like spicy food (as opposed to just some heat)! Portion size was big, and it also came with rice, beans, and tortillas, all standard. It was a little cold inside, so when the warm tortillas came out, it was so nice! I also tried a few bites of my mom's chile rellenos, which I don't tend to like, but always like to try them if someone I'm with gets them. Really, really good. And that's coming from me, who as I just said, doesn't really like them in the first place. The breading was fantastic and it was full of tons of white queso. Almost too much that it was quite rich, but soooo good. Definitely had an overall sweetness to it, which I liked. The texture of the pepper is still a bit weird to me, but aside from that "me problem" it was certainly the best chile relleno I think I've ever tried. For the salsa, I asked if they had any hotter ones, and they brought out two more. I liked both. One was like a deep and bitter spicy flavor with maybe a slight tartness. The other was like a creamy verde salsa, but spicier than normal. The regular red salsa was also good, nothing out of the ordinary about it. I actually toward the end of eating my diablo chicken added a bunch of it to my plate to kind of thin it out a bit as well as tone down some of the spiciness that eventually caught up to me by the end.

Great hidden gem!! Decided on this place while driving by and figured we couldn't go wrong when the parking lot was completely full of cars! We were surprised by the huge portions and yes, there's unlimited chips and salsa! Frozen Margs we're spot on, too. Recommend if you ever find yourself in Davis!

Beef chimichanga with all the fixings

Omg...when my husband puts really good hot sauce on his plate to compliment an already great beef enchilada lunch...well you know something fabulous is going down. Ditto for my beef chimichanga! Love the decor. Stopped by chance and so glad we did!

Very good, and the service was above and beyond expectations. My wife and I shared a plate of enchiladas with verde sauce and loved it.

Food is mediocre and service is poor at best. Last time we went there all of the wait staff were too busy talking to some gal at the bar.

The food, drinks and service were awesome! My husband had the Fajitas and I had the Birrio tacos. Margaritas were great also!

Best salsa in the state of Oklahoma. The flavor is so unique and has a smokey roasted flavor that's subtle. Carne asada tacos are very good.

I hate having to share negative reviews however that helps my fellow travel enthusiast and businesses to improve if needed. we ordered chicken chili relleno , fish taco rice beans a beef taco and chicken soup. We ask if the could leave the breading off the relleno and waiter said yes that they would. My husband got his meal about 10 min before mine, then my fish taco arrived, which had only little small pieces of fish and a tortilla and slice of lime. While I waited for the rest of my entrée to get there, my fish taco got cold. Finally a manager asked if everything was OK and I said I still hadn't got my entrée so another five or 5 minutes laps and it appeared. Both of our entrées were incorrect. Mine did not come with the avocado salad. It came with breaded, chili pepper and the soup was not very flavorful the onions in it were very pungent and raw. Are utilize the women's bathroom to wash my hands when we first got there and their other facilities however, the bathroom has two stalls no doors... thankfully there is a lock on the main entrance so I just locked the whole main entrance so that I wouldn't have have a buddy come in there lol. I will say the people at the cash register were super friendly and attentive possibly they should be the ones running the floor as well.

However this had a great flavor with just a hint of spiciness! My friend really liked the chips as they held up to dipping and didn't break apart. I had the Chicken Taco and Cheese Enchiladas with White Sauce/Queso, rice and beans. Mine was excellent too! The taco was tasty although a couple pieces of chicken were a bit tough. But the flavor was great. The Cheese Enchiladas with onion were just the way I liked them. Not spicey but flavorful. The rice was very good as were the refiried beans. The servings were a good size and very filling. We had Arnold Palmer's to drink, served in nice mugs that were perfectly blended and our server kept them filled. He was new and did an excellent job! I enjoyed the brightly painted decor and art at the table. We sat at a booth that was comfortable, roomy and private. The music was at a good level. We will definitely be back!
