This was our second time here, and after this visit, we should have known better. Our first visit was around 2 p.m., so we gave them the benefit of the doubt. We only ordered the zucchini sticks appetizer and a couple of drinks. It took forever to get the drinks and even longer to get the appetizer, which arrived soggy and dripping in oil. We also had a very difficult time getting our waitress's attention throughout the visit. We were staying at the hotel this time and decided to give the restaurant another chance for dinner. The restaurant wasn't particularly busy when we arrived. The hostess saw us and seated a couple who came in just before us, but then disappeared and left us standing there for about ten minutes. When she finally returned, she tried to seat us in a booth literally next to the front door, even though there were plenty of nicer tables farther inside and by the windows. It appeared that she was also bartending and waiting tables, including ours. Unfortunately, she was constantly rushed, very short with us, and would often walk away before we had even finished speaking to her. I ordered the chicken-fried steak, and my husband ordered the udon noodles with shrimp. We also ordered a mixed drink. Our waitress said she would bring us some bread, and then we didn't see her again for about 20 minutes. Our food arrived, but there was still no bread and no drink. She eventually swung by and dropped off the bread without even slowing down, and the mixed drink arrived shortly afterward -- after our food. The chicken-fried steak was particularly disappointing. It looked more like a thick, puffy hamburger than a properly pounded chicken-fried steak. It was dry, tough, and difficult to cut. To make matters worse, I was never given a steak knife and had to try cutting the steak with a butter knife. The woman who brought our food was another waitress, Catherine, who was working a different section. She was wonderful. When we told her about the chicken-fried steak, she immediately asked if I wanted something else. I ordered fettuccine Alfredo, and Catherine brought it out promptly. It was fine. My husband said the udon noodles were good, and the shrimp was good as well, although both were a little overcooked. The most frustrating part was that our actual waitress never came back to check on us. We never saw her again until we had finished our meals. She didn't ask how the food was, whether we needed anything, or whether everything was okay. I hope they pool their tips, because Catherine was the person who actually deserved ours. When our waitress finally came by, we quickly asked for coffee before she disappeared again. She dropped off the coffee and walked away so quickly that my wife had to call after her, "Spoons! Spoons!" She didn't even acknowledge us and kept walking. About a minute later, Catherine appeared with the spoons and said, "Here you go -- I heard you calling for spoons." She's not even our waitress! Catherine was terrific. If you still decide to eat here after reading this review, ask for her. She clearly understands what good customer service looks like. Overall, the food was okay, but the service was awful. All the bad service reviews are correct. That's especially disappointing because the restaurant looks like such a nice place and has prices to match. You naturally expect the level of service to match the atmosphere and pricing. We know the restaurant business, and providing good service isn't rocket science. What is especially surprising is how many reviews mention poor service. The management must either not be paying attention to the online reviews or doesn't seem particularly concerned about them. There aren't a lot of restaurant choices in Sulphur, which may be part of the reason this place stays busy. But if you come here, don't set your expectations too high when it comes to service. For us, two visits were enough. We won't be back. read more

The atmosphere is nice inside the Artesian Hotel. We had the fried green tomato BLT (it was good) and the club (it was bland). Service was very slow for two sandwiches at lunchtime. It wasn't very busy but still took a long time to get our food. Drinks were empty for a while even after asking for a refill. Maybe they are just short staffed. Would be better if servers worked as a team and other servers offered to refill drinks or clear plates. Don't know if I'd go out of my way to go back unless just staying at this hotel. read more

I shared the pan seared red fish wild rice and asparagus with my mother in law. It was excellent! The fish was flaky and in a lovely cream sauce. I was expecting something worth your time and money. My wife got the steak. It was cold no good crust very bland. she also got the mashed potatoes tasted like it came out of a box and the Mac cheese was just noodles with canned cheese. I got the fettuccine Alfredo with added shrimp. It showed up cold, noodles barely had any sauce on it. THE ONLY thing the whole meal that was good was the 4 pieces of large shrimp that I got that was 10$ for the add on. Our experience of Springs? How would we know? We made reservations at the Artesian, which would have meant most of our meals at Springs. They didn't bother to tell us, however, before we arrived that it had been closed down for a gas leak. So, not only did we have not even one good meal in four days, but the Artesian itself is falling apart, and our stay in the suite was miserable. We love the Chickasaw National Recreation Area, but we'll make only day trips from now on. read more

Weekday experience was poor. Waited 13 minutes for a host at breakfast at 9 am. I even walked through the restaurant to see if there was a waitress or anyone who could help us. Then ask "do you want anything to drink besides water?" It comes out in a styrofoam to go cup. Orange juice and sweet tea. From sit down to food arriving it was 33 minutes. Presentation was okay. Food quality poor! We were so disappointed. My husband specifically requested his hashbrowns to be crispy. She wrote it down. They came out raw and full of grease. Added a side that consisted of 2 slices of microwaved bacon for $5. I ordered French toast, eggs and sausage. The French toast was BLACK on the bottom. I mean burnt!! The sausage tastes good but was also burnt. Eggs were just okay. Never offered a drink refill. Overall we paid $55 for two people to have 2 drinks, an omelette, side of bacon and hashbrowns. French toast, sausage and eggs. This place looked nice, I didn't have my phone out but I wish so badly I had taken pictures. Fancy looking located inside The Artesian, we had high expectations, but ended up disappointed. The crisp watermelon salad was supposed to come with spinach but mine came with spring mix. And the spring mix was not fresh and had black rotting edges. Had to send it back, and they replaced it. The smothered chicken was okay, but nothing to write home about. Hubs got the monte cristo sandwich and that was just okay too. Only the appetizer pork rinds were decent. Didn't really need the pimiento cheese nor pickled tomatoes. We are staying at the Artesian for a spa day! The girls and I decided to dine in the hotel and this was the spot! We were greeted quickly and seated. The waiter was very timely and responsive to our questions. He had a great disposition and described the food with so much excitement, we thought it would be fabulous. Just alittle disappointed all the hype wasn't accurately conveyed in the taste. Presentation pretty but good just okay. I had catfish dinner and the hush puppies were the star of the show. My vegan friends had vegetables and didn't like the hard uncooked carrots, or the mashed potatoes.. the french fries looked okay. Stumbled on the Springs by accident looking for a buffet at the Artesian casino, which they don't have on a regular basis. I had the pan seared talapia and wild rice with a side salad and rolls and my husband had the southern catfish meal. The food was really amazing and not as pricy as I thought it would be. The ambience is upscale with white cloth napkins and high bench seats and the service was very attentive but not too invasive. Very nice discovery! read more

Long story short, bad food & bad service. Full story.. we called and asked if it was busy and if we needed to make a reservation. They said there was plenty of tables, and no reservation needed tonight. We live very close.. so we were there in 10 minutes and when we got there we were told there were no tables. That's fine but they took our number and never called us back. Bus boy in the blue shirt took our name and number and said give them 15 minutes to clear a table and they would call us when one opened. Went downstairs and waited, went back up 45 minutes later to check and there was a bunch of clear tables.. got seated right away by a different person. And we had never received a call back. As far as the food both of our risottos had very hard undercooked grains. I attempted to eat some of mine because I had already taken insulin, my husband just left his untouched because he said he couldn't eat it. We are big foodies who eat out a lot, love the casino and bedres cafe and the candy shop have all been top notch. I have paid $120 for steaks at top notch restaurants , and by far this steak is very delicious and tops one of the best steaks I have ever enjoyed in my life . This is the best restaurant by Chickasaw national park . My son had the Citrus Salmon 6 oz with fries and it was phenomenal to end the meal we got the brownie skillet dessert it was really good . This was a belated birthday gift from one of my dear friends to me. We met this morning and the hostess was super kind and sweet. We ask for a table by the window and we got it :-). We started with a couple of mimosas. I had a pineapple mimosa and it was super delicious! Like, you could tell it was real pineapple juice, maybe even fresh squeezed! I could've had 10! For an appetizer, we chose the fried green tomatoes because I'm a huge fan and after all, it's my birthday celebration. They were my least favorite thing of the whole entire meal. There was way too much breading, which took away from the wonderful taste of the tomato. It didn't need a dipping sauce. Well, I took that back, because of the breading, it did need dipping sauce LOL. For lunch, I had the Sorings salad with blackened chicken. The greens are super colorful, beautiful and they had an awesome taste. The chicken was welcomed, real chicken with just the right amount of seasoning. Or to die for. I am not supposed to have any gluten but I couldn't stand it and I had to! Pair it with the apple butter and oh my gosh, heaven on earth! Better had small chunks of cinnamon that were delicious! For dessert, we had the turtle brownie, which was out of this world. I would love to go back and try some other options. This place is a pretty good spot to eat in Sulfur, OK. The food was good and the service was not bad despite the fact that they seemed understaffed. If I have to be picky about something, I would say that I paid $50 for a $20 ribeye. A $50 ribeye should be between 1" and 1.25" thick. Mine was probably 3/4" thick. My boyfriend and I stumbled upon the Springs of Artesian after we found out the two other dinner places we wanted to go to were closed. It was a delightful surprise and I am so glad we ended up here! Parking is very easily though finding the location can be tricky because it's on the second floor. It is part of the Artesian casino, hotel and spa. Tip: Do yourself a favor and get yourself on the reservations list with Yelp or any other app of your choice! The influx of people are hit or miss, and it just makes life easier during COVID19 times. Staff were very friendly and definitely enforced the social distancing and mask policy. Everything was very clean and spaced appropriately. I think this was one of the first places we went to post COVID19 and we felt very safe. The food is delicious and we enjoyed every bite! Our waitress recommended the fried zucchini and it was great! She also recommended the bread pudding and my boyfriend who doesn't even like bread pudding loved it! read more

We are from The DFW area and come up to visit the Chickasaw Heritage Museum. I am Chickasaw and have read many times about the Artisan and have wanted to visit for sometime now. The ambiance of the Springs from the moment you walk in reminds you of a very upscale restaurant in Dallas or Ft Worth. The young man who waited on us was unbelievably helpful as well as pleasant to visit with. He was so polite and yet willing to give us his recommendations. Which were perfect. He also gave us suggestions from the bar, appetizers and deserts. We will definitely back very soon and will be staying the weekend at the Artesian. I wish I remembered our waiters name because he not only needs a raise but recognized as an amazing ambassador for your Hotel and Town in general. Superb job! read more

While staying at the Artesian we decided to have dinner at The Springs. I would definitely say this is probably the nicest restaurant in Sulphur. It was a Saturday night and the place was packed (Covid version of packed so less tables than normal) but definitely glad we had a reservation. The highlight of our meal was the fried zucchini appetizer! It was amazing! Overall the food was good nothing crazy to write home about, but good. The service is good and the drinks are strong, so bonus points there! Overall I'd definitely suggest it if you are staying at the hotel or visiting the casino! read more

My first time in Oklahoma. The food options are limited compared to Dallas, for sure. When I looked on Google, I was focusing on cleanliness, high rating, food quality, and location. This place seemed to check all the boxes. Mindy was phenomenal - so welcoming and attentive. We dined in, a total of 4 people. - there is indoor and outdoor seating. Pretty area. Plenty spaces for parking. - Smothered Chicken: 4/5 my friend thought it was good. - Spicy Chicken and Fries: really good 4.5/5. Crunchy and delicious. It had a runny sauce though. It's not too spicy. -Shrimp Scampi: the thickness and consistency is perfect. 4.5/5 It had way too much salt though :(, I added broccoli, it doesn't come with it. I asked them to make it less salty, and they remade the dish. I appreciated that because I only requested to mix it with a new sauce. - Fried Chicken Steak: it was average. I don't usually leave poor reviews and the food was good, but the service was mostly terrible. Our server rarely came by for our large party of 20, and guests went through most their meal without any water refills. There was a hair in my salad (gross but sometimes happens) and I asked for it to be comped, but afterwards the server dropped dirty utensils on me twice as they cleared the table. I'm sure it wasn't done on purpose but it made for a very poor overall experience. The next morning we had breakfast here, and while the service was much better and the food tasted good, the sausage and gravy biscuits were warm at best, bordering on cold, as if it had been sitting out for a while. I feel like my expectations were too high: anticipating a finer dining experience, but it came off as just a casino cafe. read more
