The ambiance is relaxed country diner with 50's music as your background music. Food quality is better than average. That said I was not overly impressed with the cheeseburger. The thin patty was not completely dry. The fries were crispy with flaky interior. All in all I expect they came off the food delivery truck and were properly cooked but not made to shine. My wife ordered the prairie southwest chicken and it looked like it received better treatment. I was impressed with the fruit bowl as it was clearly fresh fruit The staff was friendly and personable. PK is a great place to eat. Service is usually pretty spot on and someone is always cleaning. They take pride in making sure the seating area is clean. The menu is large. There are a lot of options to choose from. Only down side is portion sizes have decreased and prices have increased. It's a bit pricey for what it is. read more

Went there while visiting friends, since I used to live in Ada many years ago, and was completely disappointed in how downhill the place has went. It used to be a great place, clean, with great food. After waiting for 10 minutes to be seated, while the place was obviously not busy, it took another 20 minutes to be greeted by a server. The water she brought out was in dirty glasses with a film of something on top. We came for the fried okra, which used to be the best. All of our food came out 45 minutes later cold with the meat raw, still mooing, and the okra so overcooked that you could create a rock garden out of them. This is definitely not the Prairie Kitchen that I once knew when I lived in Ada years ago. Too bad as well, because what this place used to be was one of the best, now has turned into a roach hotel with careless staff. Now the only way to get it back to greatness, would be to shut it down and completely renovate by power-washing the entire building down from the kitchen to the dining area, find a cook who knows what they are doing, and a wait staff who cares what they are bringing out to their patrons. read more

A local stop right next to the AGRI-PLEX that's know to the locals as the Kitchen.. I was impressed walking in! Dirty floors, food / crumbs on the walls and a uncleaned table. My kind of establishment for sure. Seating didn't take to long ~15 minutes and then after seating another 20 minutes before my order was taken. I didn't mind though, I knew coming here it would be an all day thing. I ordered the basic hamburger, well done and burnt to a crisp (just like my heart). I didn't expect my hamburger to come out mooing like it just got pulled out from a show from the Ag complex next-door. The waiter was nice enough and removed the evidence before I could take a photos or bring the cow back to the show. 0/9 wouldn't recommend. A must not stop when visiting Ada! read more

This Prairie Kitchen has always been our favorite place to eat in Ada. We probably eat here 3-4 times a month, and have never been disappointed until today. I took 3 of my grandchildren for lunch. We arrived at 12:10 pm and were promptly seated, and since we knew what we wanted, we ordered right away. At 12:50 pm, we were given 4 cold meals. the pancakes were hard on top. The waitress made no mention of the delay--no apology. Although it was lunchtime, it was not busy--there were several open tables, and we counted at least 4 waitresses. Since we were in a hurry at that point and my grandkids were starving, we ate cold food and left. Our ticket was never brought to our table. Our waitress was working the register. I told her that more than $45 dollars was a lot of to pay for a cold meal we had waited over 30 minutes to receive. All she said was, "Sorry". So disappointed. Prairie kitchen has been very busy every time we have passed through Ada, so we decided to give it a shot last time we were in town. They must have a big following from locals, but I would rate it 3.5 stars. While the service was friendly, the food was just ok. I think the fried okra was the best thing. My burger was lacking in flavor, so that was disappointing. We will probably try something else next time we are in town. read more

Yum yum yummy! We were in ada for about a month and a half for my husbands job, and we/I would come here a couple times a week! I just loved it. Such a cute restaurant. I mainly came for breakfast but I did get a chicken sandwich here once and it was incredible! the meats just seem to taste better in Oklahoma! The breakfast very good I usually would get some type of egg and meat dish, I did however try the French toast and I wasn't a fan of it. It could of just been me, but it tasted as if there was a liquor added into the batter, there was some type of flavor I wasn't used to. Their syrup is so good! Tastes like such a real syrup!! We did try the Texas toothpicks and the cowboy corn, (We don't have anything like that out in California) And both were sooo good! I loved the Texas toothpicks. Definitely should try if you've never had them before. The staff is friendly and the restaurant is decorated very cute. I hope we come back to Oklahoma again, I will definitely be back to eat here! read more

The food was your average fare One would expect from an older breakfast and lunch type restaurant. I have the hatch chili omelette, but the eggs for over cooked. My biggest objection or negative for this restaurant was the old carpet and furnishings that smelled like old carpet in furnishings. read more

We took around 20 6th graders and Appx 10 parents to Prairie kitchen with no warning while we were in Ada for a vocal contest. The waitstaff was kind, helpful, and gracious, which isn't always easy. The food was very good and everyone easily found something they wanted. If I'm in Ada again I would be very likely to return! read more

In Ada for the weekend and tried Prairie Kitchen. The full stack of pancakes will hit the spot! Guaranteed! I got a side of bacon because how can you not get a side of bacon?? The blueberry syrup was good too! Nothing that really makes these unique, just good, fluffy, pancakes. They don't have many blueberries in the batter, most are just on top. I give this 3 stars because it was mediocre nothing crazy special but I love supporting local businesses, especially during this time. We had a new waitress, it was actually her first day. I served tabled for 4 years so I know the game and she definitely has a lot to learn but props to her for her first day. She spilled a thing of butter and needs to learn timing (which sometimes is a cooks fault not hers) but she was cute and seemed busy. The food was average nothing special, very cute dineresq. I had the Cattle Barron Breakfast with three over medium eggs, hashbrowns, ham, sausage and bacon with 2 pecan pancakes. The pancakes were delicious and the eggs were cooked perfectly. I'm not a huge ham person but mixed with my breakfast was good. (They serve breakfast all day!!!!) My husband had the chicken fried steak sandwich, it didn't come with gravy which was odd but didn't ask because we didn't want to overwhelm the server. He still enjoyed it, the fries were pretty decent. We also had the trip appetizer with shrimp, chicken and mozzarella sticks, again just some good grub food. Came in for a quick lunch. Had cowboy corn, honestly if everything else was horrible this place would still get at least four stars. The sweet tea was excellent and the ice is spot on. Food came quick peppercorn burger and BLT. Both great. Only slightly disheartening part of the meal was my Texas toothpicks (fried onions) were a little burnt. Fries good but was pretty full by the time we got to them. Bun on the burger wasn't my fave a little dry and dense. Overall I would stop here again if nearby. read more

In the past, food and service has been great... HOWEVER, the multitude of flies in the place last night ((7/23/2023, 7:45PM, Receipt 530306) absolutely ruined our "special" evening meal. Spoke to the cashier & our waitress to request the manager do something as the flies were continually landing on us, our food, and buzzing around. We moved from the window booth to an inside booth, but to no avail as constantly 2-4 flies were on every booth window and more on the booth woodwork throughout the hour we were there. Customers were swatting flies from their food and tables continually. Waitress claimed nothing could be done while customers were dining, to which I requested she bring me a flyswatter; she said it wasn't allowed. So sad to see what we considered to be a great place to dine allow such disregard for their customer's discomfort. We drove 2 hours (106 miles) from Sawyer OK, just to enjoy an evening meal, as we had enjoyed breakfast there numerous times in the past. Further, it was disappointing that a "manager" didn't have the decency of personally addressing our concerns when both cashier our waitress assured us they advised (him/her) of the situation. It gives the appearance they're aware of the fly infestation but have no intention to address it. The annoyance of swatting flies while trying to eat and the implied health hazards of flies on food you are eating have ruined our desire to revisit a place where we formally enjoyed dining. read more

The restaurant is always clean and well taken care of from the floor, tables, booths and bathrooms. Instead of going to all of the big chain restaurants like Chilis, Applebees, Santa Fe Steak Co., or any of the others, go to your locally owned places like this and support the employees, managers and owners that actually live and support the local communities in which they live! read more

They basically were just big pieces of bacon. All fat, no pork and no chop. Bathrooms were horrendous when we were there in August. Everything sounded great.
