Ambiance: The restaurant is absolutely stunning! Service: The restaurant was busy in a Thursday evening. There were at least 5-6+ parties ahead of us. The wait was about 30 minutes. We had to put our name on the list and they called my name when my table was ready. Food: The food was sooo good! I loved the chicken shawarma plate. The house chai was also amazing! I'd definitely come here again!
A popular place for a reason - the food here is so good and a good value for your money! Came here with a big group of friends, no reservation. It was very busy on a Friday night, which was expected. Half our group did take out and the other half dined in. I split a shawarma plate and shrimp kebab with my partner and it was more than enough food, especially with the 2 sides. We got the fries and garlic potatoes. The fries were amazing, the garlic potatoes were just alright. The shawarma was nicely sliced and flavorful. I had some of our friend's branzino and that was so tasty - if I come back here, I would order that. Overall, the food here is amazing. I would probably come back during less busy hours if I'm ever in the area.
The food and service are always great, as usual! The lamb chops will always be our favorite and the dish we keep coming back for. They never disappoint. One small suggestion would be to have the utensils individually wrapped or covered for sanitary purposes, since they are currently exposed and can easily be touched by others. The same goes for the water bottles/containers that are left sitting open. Having them covered would make the dining experience feel a little more hygienic and give customers extra peace of mind.
We visited Mazra for dinner recently and it was a pretty good experience. The restaurant is easy to find and has limited parking available, although you can look for street parking nearby. The restaurant was spacious, nicely decorated and had a warm/welcoming vibe with fall themed decor. While the restaurant was quite busy, we were able to get seated outdoors on the heated patio. The host that seated us was kind and helpful. You can view the menu and order and pay via scanning a QR code or go up to the counter for assistance. The menu had a good variety of appetizers, wraps, sides, and entrees. We opted to share a double kebab plate with two sides and street fries topped with falafel. The kebab plate was good, seasoned well. I enjoyed the chicken more than the filet mignon. I also thought they could've included a little more meat, since we had a lot of rice leftover. The roasted potatoes were alright along with the tabbouleh. The banana date shake was sadly underwhelming. I was not a fan of the texture and I was hoping for a smoother consistency, and the oat milk influenced the overall flavor. We did enjoy the street fries, which were unique and delicious. I liked the falafel, it was crispy but had a nice flavor, along with the fries & toppings. We were quite full, and had some leftovers to bring home. I was curious to try the baklava trio and ordered some to-go. The baklava was okay, but a bit on the soggy side. I will say service was friendly and attentive in the beginning, but no one really checked in during our meal. Mazra has a self-service format, where you can grab water/tea/utensils and to-go boxes on your own. I just expected a staff member to stop by & check in after we received our food. We mostly enjoyed our dining experience and thought the meal was adequate. I would be open to trying additional items from the menu in the future.
When we the first time, the grill was on the side of the building so the smoke ended up coming into the car. We would find that smoke later produced some of the most succulent meat! I would get the Double Kebab plate, beef and lamb. Had this review and pics before the fire. _______________________________________________ Didn't realize how much I missed this place until the had a fire! Came to get my fix when they finally opened! They made some nice updates to the building as well as changes to the lines for ordering. The lines for ordering are now outside, making a lot more room for patrons inside. The food has not changed, tasty as ever! The Street Fries were good, probably better with meat. Can't go wrong with a Street Wrap good with the pickles! First time at the San Bruno location after falling in love with the Redwood City location, and did not disappoint! Just like the other location, the service and ambiance were outstanding. We're big fans of Mazra, and the food was just as delicious as the other location. We ordered the filet mignon kebab plate with tzatziki and garlic potatoes, as well as the lamb with baba ganoush and French fries. Every single dish was delicious and packed with flavor. Can't wait to come back again! Just be prepared to wait a little on a weekend evening, but the line usually moves fairly quickly.
Heard a lot about Mazra so I had pretty high expectations. Came by on a weekend at 7pm and was estimated for about 30 min wait. They have a small parking lot and that was were most people waited. Inside is vibrant and nicely decorated Upon seating us, they gave us physical menus. To order, scan the QR code on the table. We decided on the cauliflower appetizer along with a double kebob plate to share which came with 2 sides. I like the idea of self serve water/tea station! Appetizer came out quickly. Whole cauliflower was flavorful with the tahini dressing but personally the cauliflower itself was a little overcooked for me. For the double kebob plate, we got the lamb and beef, both which were juicy and tender. The buttery rice was a great compliment along with the tzakiki and tabbouleh salad side. Pita was average. If only it was easier to find parking in the area
Great place for a quick lunch and/or sit down with friends and family! Parking is limited with street parking options! Meat is well seasoned with lots of flavor - very tender and paired well with rice. Many options for drinks, sides(dips/bread), and even sauces. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. Staff was friendly and food came out quickly despite the lines.
I ordered a Double Kebab Plate of Chicken & Kofta for takeout. Heard a lot of great reviews about this place and because I was on a mediterranean diet, I had to stop by and try it out while I was in the area. I had order takeout at the window since it was completely packed and filled inside the restaurant. Chicken & Kofta Kebab 4/5 Unfortunately, I only got 50% of what I ordered. Instead of Kofta, they accidentally gave me a saffron mushroom kebab. I was disappointed about it because I looked forward to the kofta. I had already left before I had a chance to open and eat. The chicken was nice and tender and even though I don't like mushroom it was still exceptional. I was angrily eating it lol. Rice was perfect and all the sauces were really good. The flatbread was actually really cold for some reason and not warmed properly. Service 3/5 Staff is friendly but my order was messed up. Ambience 5/5 It's really nice inside and the outside dining is also a great option for a hot day. It's a lively casual atmosphere. I'm definitely coming back because the food is really good and I know what to expect the next time I visit but it was just unfortunate my order was messed up.
got seated immediately on a wednesday evening. the hostess was so kind and gave us the run down on where the water / tea was, plates, cups, to-go containers etc were all self served. the QR code on the table made ordering quick and easy. i got the steak shawarma plate with hummus and fries, and it was good! generous portion, a little salty but i should have gotten the yogurt tzatziki sauce. overall... SO DELICIOUS! inside was beautifully decorated. always a hit and can't wait to come back.
Came here on a Friday night with a party of 2 and was told the wait was gonna be 40 mins but realistically only took maybe 20! I absolutely loved this restaurant. There's complimentary tea and the sauces are SO GOOD. All the food was ofc amazing and so flavorful and tasty. We ordered the whole cauliflower and that exceeded my expectations! The roasted lamb and kofta kebabs were also really good. Especially paired with the sauce!! Would definitely come back again and I think I've found my new go to Mediterranean restaurant!
Still simply the best! I ate a street wrap with lamb and it was so tender and juicy. I love the soft and tasty bread and filling. Nothing has changed. It's still as good as it was but now in a beautifully decorated space. Order at the counter and seat yourself. Plenty of seating inside and out. Water and hot tea available. Everything always stocked and clean. I hadn't been to this location since it reopened since I've been satisfying my Mazra craving at the Redwood City location but this place is the best! Not sure why but I feel like the grilled meat is tastier. Forgot to mention that the staff is always so nice and courteous.
I came here on weekend evening for dinner. We ordered various items to try and they were all delicious. We ordered the chicken shawarma plate, lamb chop plate, double kebab plate, and a side of fries. For the plates they come with rice, pita, house pickles and your choice of two sides. Since we had three entrees, we tried a variety of sides they had available. For sides we got: hummus, babaganoush, muhammara, roasted red beet dip, tabbouleh salad and arabi salad. All the sides were delicious. For the plates, the chicken shawarma plate came with a large portion of chicken that was thinly sliced. Very good flavor and went nicely with their garlic toum. The lamb chop was a bit overcooked for us but had a very nice flavor. For the kebab plate, we got the lamb kebab and the kofta kebab, both were fine but the lamb was overcooked. Overall, this restaurant has nice decor, and will definitely be back again.
I think this might be the best Mediterranean spot in the Bay The food and vibe are amazing--perfect for hanging out with family or just catching up with friends. We ordered the chicken, lamb, and sea bass, and everything was cooked to perfection. The sea bass was my absolute favorite--even though I'm usually not big on fish. It was grilled so well, super fresh, and no fishy smell at all Desserts were decent, just a bit too sweet for my taste--but still worth trying. Mazra in San Bruno recently completed a remodel and the space feels completely different from what longtime locals might remember. Back when this spot was Green Valley Market, Mazra was tucked away in the back of the store. Before the renovation, ordering had already been moved to the front through a window where you placed your order, then you add your name to a waitlist to dine-in. It somewhat worked, but it felt like a lot of steps just to get food. The remodel took over two years to complete and it seems the scope expanded quite a bit along the way. What likely began as a plan to renovate the kitchen and bring the grills indoors turned into a full remodeling. The space now has a completely brand new kitchen, dining room, patio, restrooms, furniture, and improvements to the parking areas. Takeout ordering and the host stand for dine-in are now properly positioned at the front, making the flow much smoother. The layout also mirrors their Redwood City location with a proper indoor kitchen and ventilation. From what I understand, the grill had been moved around the property multiple times in the past after neighbors complained about the smoke, so it's nice to see the owners investing in a long-term solution. The remodel looks clean, modern, and honestly the kind of setup I wish they had years ago. The menu remains the same. I ordered my usual Double Kabab Plate with lamb and chicken, along with Arabic salad and fries. The meats were still good, but the sides felt a bit off during this visit. The fries tasted slightly stale and the Arabic salad was very salty. The sides seemed like they may have been sitting out. Several sides were also unavailable when I ordered around 8pm. I also noticed the portions seem smaller than before, something I've also seen at their Redwood City location. The double plate now comes with about half a skewer, roughly four pieces of each meat. The grilled moist quality from the brine is still there, but the reduced portion size is noticeable. It's hard not to reminisce about the earlier days before Mazra went viral around the Bay Area. Back in 2020 there was no line, plenty of space to dine in, and parking was much easier. These days the small front and back lots still fill up quickly, so skipping the on-site parking and using street parking in the residential area is often the easiest option. It's great to see how far the place has come. The owners' son Jordan was there running the restaurant during my visit, and it's impressive seeing how they helped turn a struggling market into a restaurant that's now widely praised across the Bay Area and expand to a second location. Overall, the remodel is a big improvement and the restaurant looks fantastic. If they can tighten up the consistency of the sides, revisit the portion sizes, and perhaps start making pita bread in-house, it would easily bring the experience back up to where it used to be for me. read more

Welcome back, Habibi! Consistency has always been where Mazra shines, and this latest visit was no different. I've tried most of the meats on the menu, but this time opted for the grilled lamb chops. I also decided to give their "street fries" a whirl. The lamb chops were tender and fresh, although I wish they were cooked ever so slightly less through (or give the option to specify temp when ordering through their QR system). They are pricey at $43. The street fries were a highlight; I'm already a fan of their chicken shawarma, but the added tzatziki really adds a cohesion that complements their hot sauce & toom wonderfully. $16. The only reason they are not 5 stars this time around is the price...unfortunately everything has gone up in recent years, but this feels *just a touch* over what I'd consider "good" value; though I understand they use fresh ingredients, cook everything fresh, etc. They're still worth visiting if you're craving excellent Mediterranean cuisine...perhaps just space out your visits a bit to go easy on the wallet! read more
So glad they have reopened! After a long day at work, I took a chance on dropping by Mazra for dinner. It was busy with a lot of people waiting for an inside table or take out. Luckily it was a bit cold and breezy and I was bundled up so outside seating was immediately available. It's been a while so I went straight for the lamb shank. It was so delicious and tender. I got the roasted vegetables and hummus as my sides which were so good. The table next to me also ordered the lamb shank and were able to polish it off. I, on the other hand, got full quickly from the huge portion and took most of mine home. I am looking forward to having it for lunch tomorrow! Service has its usual small kinks to work out which is to be expected, and everyone is so friendly. I did like the QR ordering, and I should have ordered a banana date shake to go when I was done. Parking is challenging so be prepared or take a Lyft/Waymo. I'm looking forward to more visits with family and friends. read more

Great good with the fries being super delicious. I got the chicken shawarma plate and the whole mixture of food was delicious. It is a very popular spot so there will be a line but they have the option to reserve online. My girlfriend recommended this place and we'll be back when we are in the area. read more

Man, what a journey! I found about Mazra 5 years ago, Specifically their first location, from a friend who's mother knew the owner. Fresh out of Highschool, we would get the the Sharma and fries and the rest was history. 5 years later, I've put my whole family and all of my friends on to this place and they love it, and I'm still going. This time, I finally got the Kebab platter, I usually get the roasted chicken but we wanted to switch it up. The Lamb kebabs specifically won a place in my heart, tender, flavorful, and juicy. The Falafel Mezza Platter comes with all these dips such as Hummus, Tzatiki, Muhammara, Roasted Beet dip, and a refreshing Roasted Beet dip. All of which looks so pretty with a flavor to match The restaurant looks beautiful with the middle eastern and Mediterranean themes. The service is always good with the folks at mazra always making sure we get what we need. The pricing over here is amazing as all the food is sharable with perfect portioning. I really feel like me and my family can bond and joke around when eating the food as if the food style promotes that kind of engagement. Parking is a little bit harder over here just because it is in a busier area but not too much of a problem and I will always find a way for mazra. I absolutely love Mazra! Halloumi is my favorite, so the halloumi wrap is a must for me. You can add on fries, which are delicious, and garlic sauce is also available as an add-on (it comes standard with the plates). The plates are a ton of food (basically two meals) so they're probably the best value on the menu. Both the wraps and plates come with a spicy red sauce, which is equally delicious. The service is incredibly fast too. You can order via QR code or walk up to place your order in person. They also have a self-serve station for packing your food and grabbing complimentary tea! They're halal, so no alcohol is served, but you're welcome to bring your own beer or wine. There's no corkage fee, which is rare and such a nice benefit. Boys are back in town. Welcome back, and after visiting the remodel, it was worth the wait. From the front-to-back area to the indoor and outdoor spaces, you get very positive and delicious vibes. Gia is kind and friendly, and we loved the new ordering system. No more long lines when ordering your food. I remembered long discussions on the side among the family and friends. Lol Everything looks good on the menu, except I miss my Brussels sprouts appetizer. But we tried fried olives with Harissa sauce, omg so so good. Chicken shawarma, combo kabobs, and roasted chicken; everything was served fresh and warm. Our server was very efficient, but actually, everyone around was kind enough to stop by and help us. I mean, everyone who was not even serving our table was awesome. Where did you find these angel workers? Drinks were good, and the tea had a strong cinnamon flavor but was not bad. We did miss seeing Saif and Jordan, but everyone was so kind, so it was ok. Love to see you all next time. Let's talk about Parking. That doesn't change, and I get it. Even though we went at 4pm for dinner, there was no parking. I found a parking space in the back, where I used to park when this was Green Valley Market. So many memories with this location. Why did I not try this place sooner? I always pass by this place but never thought to give it a try. I was getting lunch with a friend on a Friday and he suggested this place. The restaurant was pretty packed for a Friday afternoon! There was even a little line out the door. We ordered a bunch of random things and all of it tasted great! I've been eagerly waiting to visit the San Bruno location, and finally, my chance arrived! It was quite busy, so we parked down the street-which was no problem at all, since I knew I'd be walking off the big meal I was about to enjoy. The hostesses were fantastic, seating us down immediately. We ordered through the Toast App, and I chose the Garlic Rotisserie Chicken with rice, salad, and cucumber dip. -Everything arrived beautifully prepared, though I didn't get to try the cucumber dip because my dining companion preferred it over their hummus--a perfect trade, since the hummus was also superb. My daughter went for the Chicken Shawarma plate, and she was so enamored with her meal that she nearly finished the whole thing, despite eating like a bird. Clearly, she devoured her food. I've been here before, but this was my first time back since the remodel and they did an amazing job. The whole place feels fresh, modern, and much more welcoming while still keeping the great atmosphere that made us come back in the first place. I ordered the lamb shank and it was incredibly tender, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. My wife and kids shared the double kebab platter and everything came out fresh, juicy, and full of flavor. We also got the cauliflower and halloumi cheese rolls, and both were excellent. The halloumi rolls especially were a standout. The staff was friendly, attentive, and the service was smooth from start to finish. You can tell they really care about both the food and the customer experience. Definitely one of the best remodel transformations I've seen and we'll absolutely be back again. read more
3.5-4 stars. Long lines if you arrive after 6 PM. The parking lot only holds 4 cars and 2 additional spaces for food pick up and one disabled parking. We came on a week night and the place was hopping. Street parking isn't easy either. There is a hot pot of spiced tea or water on a table outside for waiting customers to help themselves. No one is seated until your entire party has arrived. Your food is ordered by scanning the QR code on the table and you help yourself to tea and water at the station where takeout boxes are also located. Basically, there's no wait service. The QR code will also prompt you to pay for the food after you place your order. The food was generally good and we had so much leftovers that the next day, the food tasted even better. The dip platter with 6 falafel was very good and came with 3 pitas, you will fill up on this before dinner. We tried the chicken and beef schwarma and they were tasty and very well seasoned. The small containers of sauces were too spicy as well as the cold, pickled vegetables. The roast chicken $30, was a large serving over fries but it would've been better if it was 1/2 fries and 1/2 rice. It's such a large dish that 2 can share. We were too full to try dessert. On another visit, will probably share entrees so we can try the desserts. read more

Updating my review of my last visit. Mazra isn't ready for prime time. Give them time to work out the kinks. What I said in my recent t 5-star still stands. It was for dining-in. What they got wrong during the same visit was the to-go order that I placed at the counter. I wasn't able to process a to-go order on tbeir site. They got my to-go order wrong 3 times while I was there. The 1st mistake was serving me one of my 5 items on a plate at the table. We had just finished dining-in. The redo of the to-go shorted me 3 things. Even tbe waiter thought the bag was missing part of the order. I got a polite bums rush from an owner when I got the food to-go the 3rd time. Assuming they got it right. I left without checking the bag. Got home and one item was missing. Plus, falafel were burnt. It was the straw that broke the camels back. Hence, this part 2 review. I'll go back. Hopefully, they'll work out the kinks. I don't see the crowds dying down. Glad they finally reopened. read more

Mazra is a go to, it is a must! The food is fresh, it's delicious it's flavorful and the service is pretty quick despite the long line to get in definitely worth the way, I recommend the cauliflower the Fatoush salad with falafel. Their hummus is amazing. We always go with the kebabs and the salmon plate. Phenomenal! You cannot go wrong here! read more
Mazra was apparently the #2 restaurant in America on Yelp in 2021, and it is still very good. The portions are generous, the ingredients are high quality, and the preparation is very strong. For example, we got the multi-skewer family pack, which included 2 shrimp skewers. We were excited to find that the shrimp was perfectly cooked and tender (impressive because usually shrimp is overdone on skewers). The other meats were tender and well seasoned. Also of note was the banana date milkshake (made with oat milk, which was great for our lactose intolerant crew) and the roasted cauliflower (which has a great sauce and wood-fired taste). read more
Crowded as ever but so worth the wait. For a table of two when we first showed up we were quoted 30 minutes but we ended up getting seated in just 10 minutes. I opted for the chicken shawarma plate which ended up lasting me two meals...it comes with so much food because of pita and two sides. Mazra finally reopened after being closed for over 2 years! It's one of my bf's and I favorite restaurants, and I'm so glad another location is finally open. We decided to get the double kebab plate and the street wrap, which is our go to. We also love the babaganoush and fries on the side. We hadn't tried their drinks before, but we went for the banana date shake and mint lemonade and both were delicious. It can get pretty busy, but luckily we were seated right away. The ambience is similar to their Redwood City location, and I think it's really nice! read more

oh my goodness, just go. I am so happy Mazra is open again. I went on Eid and it was so good. Literally ate too much, beyond what I could handle it was so good. Got the double kebab plate with lamb and filet mignon, side of fries, side of hummus, side of toum, red pepper sauce, falafel, and the banana date shake. My date got shawarma. How adorable was he. The lamb shank was good, it must have weighed 4lbs. The garlic potatoes were too soft for me, could be a texture thing. Maybe they got steamed in the container. The beet salad was okay. I enjoy my shank and rice, also grabbed a cup of tea on my way out. I'll come again read more

I kept hearing how great this place was and how excited everyone was that it had reopened, so I had to give it a try. I ordered takeout for lunch, preordered online, and selected a pickup time. The process was super easy--the outdoor pickup window was convenient, and my order was ready right on time. I ordered the chicken and filet mignon kebabs, and I cleaned my plate! Everything was absolutely delicious. The only thing missing was more of that amazing garlic sauce next time I'm definitely ordering extra. If you're a garlic lover, that's my tip: get more sauce! I can't wait to go back and try more items. The outdoor seating area looks really cute, so I'm looking forward to dining there next time. read more

When is the RWC location opening?
As of a couple days ago, they had a sign at the San Bruno location saying "2024." But since they previously said December of this year, I would guess January/February 2024 is likely?
Tabbouleh is indicated "GF" on their menu, but isn't Tabbouleh traditionally made with cracked wheat aka Bulgur? Does anyone know if they actually use a gluten free sub (ex. Millet or quinoa)?

Regarding the family packs, are they enough for five ppl? Is the deluxe one bigger? Also, are food in general spicy?
Regarding the family pack it all depends how you eat and if they are all adults. For sure 4 adults will be satisfied. It's a little bigger. Not spicy and amazing food :)
