I don't usually leave reviews because when I receive a good service, I chalk it up to them doing…read moretheir job correctly, but this time, I received an exceptional, above and beyond service which made me feel inclined to leave a review. My wife and I contacted them for a fridge repair. They sent us a technician named Erick B, and we are going to be their customer for all the appliance issues. Erick is very polite and on time, and if there's a delay and is going to be late, he will let you know on timely manner. He explained everything as he worked on the fridge, and although the repair ended up not being possible as we were going to need a new fridge, he really did everything he could to save the fridge and us a lot of money. On top of all that, what sold me to recommend this company and decided to call them for all of our appliance needs is their customer support and aftercare service. When the first diagnosis and fix didn't repair the problem, Erick came out to do a second diagnosis and when we concluded that it's a compressor failure, he helped us research for a quality fridge to replace our old one. Now, I don't have experience with any other technicians from this company, but if they are as good as Erick, you are in good hands. So, if you are in need of appliance repair, give this place a try, and maybe you'll get to enjoy the above and beyond customer service Erick has provided us

This review is long overdue. I've been using Specialized Appliance Services for years, and Aaron…read morehas helped me with everything from my dishwasher and fridge to my washer and dryer. What I appreciate most is his honesty--he'll tell you straight up if something isn't worth fixing instead of wasting your money. He's also incredibly quick at diagnosing issues and has always been spot on. Most recently, he fixed my dryer--he even came out on a Friday night and then came back late Monday to make sure it was taken care of since I needed it done quickly. If you're looking for someone honest and dependable, Aaron is your guy. Highly recommend!

When you sort thru the reviews using the 'newest first' option you'll see that most of the great…read morereviews are from the past and most poor reviews are more current. If you choose to use this service, just know it's a gamble on what you'll get. The first scheduled appointment I had with Aaron, he was a no show. I reached out, he gave me an excuse, and we rescheduled. Aaron eventually came to my house, agreed to order parts to do the job, he took my $150 for the service call (which would be later applied to the total job cost). From that point on, I was given excuse after excuse, lies, and often ghosted. This went on for 3 months. Aaron claimed the parts were on backorder. Finally after 3 months of patiently waiting and dealing with his BS, I called the appliance company myself to check the inventory of parts needed and everything was in stock and had been. I immediately followed up with Aaron again for the status, just to see what he would say, and again he lies, telling me parts are still on backorder and because 'the company is overseas, communication with them isn't the easiest'. I knew that to be an absolute lie since I had just got off the phone with the parts department and the company has a US 1-800 number with a perfect english speaking person. I asked him some additional questions and he ghosted entirely. At that point I contacted my credit card company for a refund and I never heard from Aaron again. I then called another company and they came out and had my appliance repaired within a week, parts on hand! I'm sure if he sees this, he'll reply some lame excuses or a false story as he has done with others. But at least you've been warned.

We called Covina Appliance as they were fairly local and had good Yelp reviews. We scheduled an appointment and they came out to inspect. They diagnosed the problem as a clogged drain, but they also recommended changing the drawer slides to allow for better closure. We agreed and waited several weeks for the parts to come in. Once the parts came in, the technician came out to replace the slides and clear the drain. He confirmed that the work would now resolve the issues we were experiencing. Within a few weeks, we noticed that ice was continuing to accumulate in the freezer. Given that we were out of town during the holidays, we figured we'd deal with it afterwards. We called the office and had the office staff look up the work order. They confirmed that frost buildup was part of the original request that was addressed. When we explained that the problem was not satisfactorily addressed, we were told that the labor warranty was only good for 30 days, and we were 5 days late! Unbelievable! The only offer we received was a waiver of the service triage fee, but would still be liable for the frost repair, which had already been quoted and paid for during the previous visit. Why would I even consider paying for them to come inspect it again in the first place? Not much of an offer. No thanks. Bottom line, they upsold us on drawer slides we really didn't need, but failed to resolve the actual problem. I would have expected some consideration given that we've done business with Covina Appliance a few times this past year. But given this latest encounter, I am forced to take my business elsewhere.
