Take out review. I'd come back just for the spicy chicken wontons. Stir fried eggplant was also good and heavy on the delicious sauce. Dumplings were standard, none really stood out. The inside was clean and service was quick.

was craving for some popcorn chicken. The popcorn chicken at mayflower dumplings express are solid!! The popcorn chicken is juicy, not too much breading, I love the panko breading that gives it a good crunch. tasted really good with the sweet chill sauce. The portion size was good as well,l. Definitely will come back for it, I phone order and it was ready in 10 minutes.

Small restaurant. Menu is pretty good. We ordered the Mongolian beef, shrimp fried rice, pork dumplings, cucumber salad, and the beef noodle soup. Food was quick and delicious. Prices are reasonable. The staff was really nice and the service was great.

My favorite restaurant! They have the best dumplings, I keep going back for more of the steamed pork / beef dumplings and they come with a yummy dipping sauce. So flavorful! also the woman working was so nice. I highly recommend 5 Stars 10/10 would 100% recommend :)

I truly don't know where to start! My girlfriend and I discovered this place not too long ago and we have been coming here ever since! The service is 1000/10, the lady that is always at the front is super sweet! The inside is really nice and super clean as well! The food is amazing and sooo fresh every time we eat here or take to go. We always get the fried rice and the chicken wontons w/ spicy sauce! They even give like a mango jello at the end and it's so refreshing to eat right after! We recommend this place to everyone!! Definitely come here if you want a better price point for the same food that you can get at the other place

Great service, the lady helping us was very patient with our large order, great appreciated. The seating area comfortable with party of 8 and the restroom was clean and tidy. The food we shared: Pork Xiao Long Bao(8), has peanuts, Chow Mein (shrimp and chicken), House Steamed Dumpling(8), Vegetable Steamed Dumpling(8), Fried Cheese Wonton, and the garlic eggplant stir fry. Everything was delicious, would recommend any of the dishes we tried, especially liked the garlic eggplant stir fry soooo flavorful!!

OK, to start coming inside as a first timer was very awkward and kind of confusing. When we walked inside, there were people sitting down and we saw food getting brought to them. The worker did not acknowledge us and we stood there, trying to figure out do we have a seat and they come to us? Do we wait and have them tell us where to sit or do we order out front? It wasn't until I approached the worker and asked that we were finally given an answer of you order upfront and have a seat anywhere. The restaurant was very clean and mostly quiet with faint sound of the TV in the background playing a war movie. To start off with the three things that we love the most was the walnut shrimp, the cucumber salad, and garlic broccoli. The walnut shrimp just might be the best one I've ever had. The shrimp pieces itself were huge! The coating they use on it, was very crispy despite being covered in the sauce. It came with a little bit of cabbage underneath it, which was a nice little touch. It alone would make me go back. The cucumber salad, had such a good flavor with a nice twist of some sort of chili pepper! It wasn't overbearing the spice level, but if you had a couple back-to-back, the heat was lovely building up!! This is my first time ever having some sort of salad like that and definitely changed the game for me. The next one was just mainly a health choice; the broccoli, and we always love it when someone does a basic right! The broccoli was nice and tender with a little bit of a crunch and had a lot of garlic on it so it tasted amazing. Very happy there. Moving on to the soup dumplings themselves the main reason why we went. We were very disappointing with them. Majority of them did not have any sort of liquid in them. We were grabbing them very gently to make sure they weren't ripping, looking at them to confirm no rips then taking a bite to see how much liquid were in them and a lot of them were bone dry. The flavor of the dumpling itself was very good; packed with a lot of meat, but no soup. Moving onto the beef onion dumplings that were pan fried. They were delicious, no complaint from us here; we were still satisfied with them. Looking aside the confusion at the start of the experience if the soup dumplings actually had soup this place would've been 100% gotten five stars. Everything else we experience was very pleasurable. It met our standards however that element itself is something we cannot look past, combine with the start is a reason why we gave it four stars instead of five. Something to know is that you are required to clean up after yourself so make sure you bring up your plates! We will be returning, however, we know what to order now!

Came here Sunday afternoon for lunch and it wasn't to packed till we started ordering the line went out the door! It went by fast and the food came out not too long after ordering. The only thing that took long was our drinks but there is just one girl in the front taking orders and making the drinks so it wasn't her fault. Still everything we got was so good and the drinks were yummy not too sweet! There's a limited amount of seating inside. You can't sit till you order food. I really like it and will come back !

Food was good and the prices made it a lot better. Very affordable. Service was quick. Ambiance was nice. Didn't expect the food to be as good as it was because the prices were so good. 5 stars chicken wonton soup. Wontons were above average in size, and they had lots of flavor. Good soup 5 stars spicy chicken wontons. Just like the soup the wontons were good. Spice level seemed like medium. This was good. 5 stars braised beef noodle soup. Beef had a lot of flavor, was tender, and overall good. Noodles were nice. Broth was good.

Ate 1/2 braised beef noodles soup already

I phoned in my order. I still rather speak with a real person. My order was ready and packaged ready in 15 min. Great service The braised beef noodles & soup were packed deconstructed for easy assembly. Included the chili oil for the heat spicy i asked for The wontons and soup were also packed separately. Everything was served at home hot, tasty delicious and not over done. More than enough for 2 Senior Citizens for late afternoon lunch

    Great beverage option

The dumplings are huge, generously filled, and really satisfying for the price. The kids loved them, and the all-you-can-eat option makes it a fun experience for families or groups. The quality can be a little inconsistent at times and it's definitely more of a budget-friendly comfort food experience rather than a high-end dim sum restaurant, but overall the food is tasty, filling, and fairly priced. Service was friendly, the staff kept things moving, and there are a ton of different options to try. I jokingly described it as "kind of like a Sizzler for dumplings" -- not as an insult, but because there's a huge variety of food and it has that casual, family-style comfort food vibe. If you go in expecting luxury dining, this probably isn't the place. But if you want good portions, variety, and a relaxed atmosphere, it's definitely worth checking out.

Our server even brought the lobster out for a quick photo op before it was taken back to be prepared, which made the night feel a little more special. Only downside is parking can be a bit tricky, especially on a busy weekend night, so plan a little extra time for that. Overall, would absolutely come back!

This helped us get a table much faster than we would have than if we had just shown up and waited. We ordered the large family meal, and there were 12 of us. We also ordered the Newport Lobster, fish fillet with black bean sauce, and an extra shrimp fried rice. Overall, I think the food was good, and the prices are reasonable (except the lobster, which was pricey, as you might expect from anything listed as "market price"). Most of us in the group thought the fish fillet with black bean sauce was the best. I thought it was very good, but not necessarily fantastic. (There are other Chinese restaurants that do it a little better.) The sauce was very good, but the fish wasn't quite as tender as it can be. Definitely a solid 4 stars. Other dishes were good. I think the scallop soup could have been great for some people, but my wife and I both hate cilantro, and there was a ton of cilantro. The pork was also good, and my friends thought the clams were also really good. I found the fried rice a bit bland. And for both the lobster and the crab, they could have made them a little easier to eat by cracking the shells a bit more for us. I hate fighting with my food ... And there was a fair amount of fighting on these 2 dishes. The lobster cost almost much as all the other dishes combined. It certainly looked amazing. And the sauce was very good. But I found most of it a bit overcooked. Maybe it was our fault for asking for a big one. Maybe a smaller lobster might have been cooked a little less. The great sauce (along with the fighting with the shell) might have covered up the fact that the meat was actually a bit tough and rubbery. I don't think I'd order this again. The service was very friendly and pretty fast. And, again, other than the lobster, the pieces were pretty reasonable.

I recall the food back then was extra tasty and memorable, leaving me wanting to return again and again. However, my recent lunch outing with my girlfriends changed my mind. Our servers were attentive and friendly. I think it helped that my friend was a familiar customer. We came on a Monday afternoon around 11:30 and It was early enough where parking was still available. We ordered the classic dishes, including salt and pepper fried pork chopsand salt and pepper fried shrimp, but the taste this time around left a lot to be desired. These two dishes lacked the crunchiness and flavors that these fried entrees are supposed to showcase. We found the pork chops to be dry and tough, as if it was prepared a while ago and sitting out for some time before it made its way to our table. The shrimp was not impressive either. At least the shaking beef or bo luc lac was good. The beef chunks were tender, and the flavors were on point. Bonus points for the broth that is complimentary during lunch. Also the complimentary orange slices were a nice touch to end our meal. We'd still return for the lobster and noodle when the occasion comes up.

Whenever I'm in Garden Grove, Korean and Vietnamese cuisine will always take precedence. However,…read moremy most recent trip pivoted from the norm, and Noodle Star became the destination. The end result? Reasonable prices, warm service, and very tasty food. Like so many Chinese restaurants, the name and theme is inherently confusing. Up until last year, the place was Harbor Garden and it's rebranded to Noodle Star ever since. The Chinese name ("川粵" aka "Chuan Yue") would imply there is a Sichuan + Cantonese component to the offerings, despite the words "teppanyaki" and handmade noodles (手工麵) noted on the exterior as well as on signs on the interior. Typically any restaurant that dabbles in multiple regional Chinese variations (Sichuan, Cantonese, Shanghainese, Lanzhou, etc.) is a huge flight risk. Surprisingly, it all worked out. All of my orders were from different regions of the country, starting with a Cantonese beef chow fun (乾炒牛河) that was delightfully smokey from the wok hei (#1) and the noodles and beef were silky and smooth. While the noodles aren't as wide as I would have liked, they were still 100% workable in the dish. The Taiwanese style popcorn chicken (鹽酥雞) was wonderfully fried and the chicken was still juicy on the inside. Their napa cabbage + shrimp + pork steamed dumplings (白菜豬肉蝦水餃) were pillowy soft and steamed perfectly. They were plump and not too doughy; which is very appropo for a northern Chinese dish. The biggest surprise may have come from the soup dumplings (小籠包), which had just the right amount of soup and a very delicate dumpling skin that was downright excellent. The service was kind, attentive, and very bilingual with Mandarin and English. Prices might feel high to non-Cali folks, but the spectrum is very much on the Socal average. (#2). Overall: good food, fresh ingredients, and great flavors. Definitely coming back to try more dishes!
