They were smoke and soot damaged. I called Kasperbaur Cleaners and asked if it was possible to clean them to get the soot and smoke smell out. They said yeah it wouldn't be a problem and they charge $4 per pound. I brought in my 8 cardigans and they then called me and told me it would be about $14 per item. I said okay because they mean a lot to me. I dropped them off and I had to contact them a week later to see if they were ready for pickup. The owner, Michael told me they'd be ready the next day. I came in and immediately smelled the smoke still. I left them there and didn't examine them. The employee working also stated that they still smelled of smoke. Michael told me to come back in and decide which ones should be sent back. I went in today to look over them thoroughly and noticed heavy pilling and loose threads. These sweaters were nowhere near any flames and only had black soot on them. Michael immediately started yelling telling me I was wasting his time and he knew I'd be a problem even though I'd been nothing but calm and polite the entire process. He told me I needed to pay the entire amount regardless of anything. I called the police and they took pictures of the damage and recommended that I take them to civil court. Do NOT bring items you actually care about here. Michael was insistent that they were in perfect condition before I came. They still have black smoke damage and are even further damaged.
