The only "black mark" during our recent trip to Iowa was a Gayle-special print that this UPS Store shipped for us back to California. The package arrived significantly damaged and bent, with torn packaging and a few big gashes in the print. I had a funny feeling about the advice that I received here, and I should have listed to my inner voice before I handed over this vacation treasure. Thankfully, the package was insured. Shipped some insulin to my son via the UPS store. I packaged it in ice packs and an insulated bag for an overnight delivery since it needs to be refrigerated, and paid almost $100 to get it there by the next morning. The package has still not been delivered after more than 72 hours. Went to the store yesterday and called again today. Both times I was told the manager would look into it and call me. I've never received a call, and trying to get an actual person at UPS is a joke. Will NOT be using UPS again and will be seeking a refund for both the shipping cost and the cost of the insulin. read more

It's ok. I'm disabled so my 6 yr old grandson takes things in and the staff is great to him which means a lot to me. The reason I put 3 stars is that when I was able to go in a couple years ago the staff wasn't that good. They didn't seem to care or act quickly but hopefully things have changed. read more

I've been a customer at this UPS store many times. I've never had bad service. The employees have always been calm and friendly, even if there's a line of customers waiting for service. If I have questions, they pleasantly take whatever time is necessary to find my answer. This is the best place to mail packages in town. read more

The UPS drivers on my delivery route are some of the greatest guys and gals. Always very courteous, friendly yet to the point of the delivery. Don't go here unless you want to be treated poorly by "Meera", who was rude, arrogant, and just plain mean, with no provocation whatsoever. She seems to have some free-floating malice going on, or maybe she has some weird ideas about customer status compared to hers. This appears to be a permanent condition. They also charged $10 just for me to pick up a package there. Apparently the UPS Stores can charge for that- whatever they want. If you want to pick up, go to the UPS Depot on Lincoln Way - they don't charge and they treat you with courtesy. read more

If I could give this store ZERO stars I would. The owner price gouged me today by telling me that to guarantee Christmas delivery I had to pay the up charge. It cost me $132 to ship two boxes to Portland and it's 10 days until Christmas. Tonight on the national news I saw a story where they said the end of the day TOMORROW is when the upcharges will start. I called to complain and she blew me off. Sumi is awesome! I made an insurance claim after my ceramic sculpture was broken, the claim was denied. We appealed the denial and was ultimately issued my insurance money. Overall my experience was very good at this location. My cashier was Konner and she was very helpful in getting my packages sent with tracking numbers quickly. She was able to help other customers at the same time as me to keep the line short and I'm sure this made everyone else happy. read more

Don't like this place at all. Hard to believe that they are supposed to provide services to people coz they act like they are your boss. Also, they charge you almost $2 to print a shipping label, and interestingly, they charge you some dollars if you use their computer even if it's for checking something in order to ship things. read more

Used this UPS UPS Store (809 Wheeler St #110, Ames, IA 50010), I sent off a package (Tracking#1ZW699W40287073333) on 9-17-2014 supposed to get to destination on 9-19-2014. Instead it got there on 9-24-2014, and after so many phone calls and follow ups from our side. I felt so frustrated, disappointed and extremely sad of this incidence. The package was regards to a time-sensitive court issue, and affected us in addition to the time we had to waste on this and the amount of stress it induced. Around 11:30 am today (9-29-2014), I went to the same store (above address) and asked for an explanation of incidence. Instead of being apologetic, the UPS lady was extremely rude and accused me of being rude for just asking the above question very gently, waiting for her for many minutes to look at her computer screen. When I said, the least you could do is just being "apologetic" instead of "being impolite and ignorant", she responded: "it was not me sending this package!". She ignored my response of asking her if she's representing the company who's taken care of this shipment. I felt so sad, disappointed and frustrated of her behavior. There were two other senior costumers in the store evidencing our conversation at that time (around 11:35 on 9-29-2014). I wish UPS was more careful of whom they hire and the way their employees treat costumers. read more
