I may eventually change this to 5 stars. I only had one sandwich so I was hesitant to give 5. I had a beef melt. Their prices are so reasonable and my sandwich was very delicious. You'd be surprised how many places can screw up melts. Don't expect fancy bells and whistles, just expect a solid sandwich. Not that it would ever bother me, but the interior is a little old. If it keeps the price is like this, that's fine. Plus, to be honest it adds to the charm. This is going to be a new favorite lunch spot for me. read more

I heard a lot of good things about this place... but was kind of disappointed when I finally got to try it. I hail from the great land of Jersey (well, NYC and North Jersey where the Italians are) so I guess I have a special "expectation" out of Delis. And when I say expectation I mean I want my sandwiches with like a pound of meat (for no reason at all) and so large that I can barely fit it in my mouth. I also expect it to taste fresh and refreshing (yes, refreshing go to jersey have a sandwich you'll know what I mean). So when I got my reuben that felt greasing and artery clogging I was disappointed. Sure, it tasted okay but it wasn't what I expected. Maybe I'll go back and try something else and be wowed. But sorry, this place is just a typical sandwich place to me nothing special. read more

"the Earl of Sandwich would order here" Way back in the 1700's when the Earl of Sandwich invented the ubiquitous meal you can grab onto he never dreamed what could happen in just a few hundred years. Mayback's does his memory proud. They make one helluva sandwich here. Don't bother with the double meat unless you really want to gorge, The regular size is more than enough and will satisfy even the most gargantuan appetite. read more

This is the $8.69 to go Reuben sandwich. (See posted photo) It looks better in the pic than in real life as I'm a good photographer! When I opened the box my reaction was: Wow is that small! I thought the overall taste of the sandwich was OK. Would I drive back for another one tomorrow? Or recommend this as the best Reuben? No to both. Will I go back on Friday and try the fish fry? Yes! Overall I'd say for a little corner store which has food, if you're in the area and hungry- stop in! If you're thinking about driving 20 miles to get here- no. read more

A classic old school gem! A convinience store/deli/sandwich counter. I loved the 1/2 ham sub. Nice touches like wrappy a side pickle in parchment so it didnt make bun soggy! read more

Best prices and food in Buffalo. They make their own roast beef which most places don't. Always get great service with that local friendly hospitality. read more

I just moved to Buffalo from Westchester County NY, and this deli makes the best sandwiches I have ever had! Definitely come here!

Although, the place is a bit small, they have excellent customer service and great food. I would recommend Mayback to friends, family, co-workers and tourist. read more

Just finally made it in here tonight after a friend suggested it a year ago! I wish I didn't wait so long. My husband and I both shared the turkey bacon sub and the chicken finger sub, and both were nothing short of amazing. Been looking for a go-to place for subs, especially chicken finger subs, and I finally found it!! Can't wait to go back! read more

I love maybacks! It's great seeing a NY style deli upstate. I have only ever had a breakfast sandwich, but I have never been disappointed. Definitely want to try more for lunch! read more

Mayback's Deli - Ham egg and cheese on a roll + a hashbrown! - Delis Near Me - Tonawanda, New York

Always good here. Anything from a tuna Sammy on white bread to my favorite, chicken finger subs!! I grew up eating at this deli!! It also appears they have remodeled the sitting area. Looks fresh and clean in there now. read more

Mayback's Deli - Chicken finger sub, BBQ - Delis Near Me - Tonawanda, New York

I grew up going to this place so perhaps I'm biased with a rare 5 star rating. This place has a friendly staff and one of the best reubens in Buffalo. read more

Very good food. Awesome deli sandwich to order. A wide verity even had a cheeseburger sub. Would recommend if you want to try something good while driving through. read more

This is a place I would have never new existed had someone not tell me about it. But holy cow it's amazing! The hand down best Reuben I have ever had in my life! So amazing. I would recommend this place to anyone! read more

Who the heck puts American cheese on taco salad? No thanks. Cool concept for an eatery, but it was more like bad bar food.

i love this place. used to work right near here and order all the time for lunch. now i make my husband order with me for dinner. my favorite chicken finger subs! quick and easy and they're all super friendly. read more

I travel to Buffalo and stay over on Tuesday and Wednesday so I am not here on Friday. The reason I mention that is in regards to fish fries which happen in every restaurant in Buffalo and maybe all of NY every Friday. The fish fry that Maybacks serves is as good as any I have had. The fish is lightly breaded and is a generous portion. The coleslaw is always fresh and the fries always crisp. There might be a better fish fry in Buffalo but for my money at least on a Tuesday or Wednesday there is none better than Maybacks read more

I absolutely love this place...I was first turned onto it by my aunt who worked nearby. Now that I work nearby I am a regular. Quick, cheap, and friendly service. I always get the turkey bacon sandwich but ive also had the breakfast sandwiches as well. Im not usually a breakfast sandwich kind of girl but theirs are pretty remarkable. ..fresh, real ingredients get me every time :) My only wish: id love to see them offer unsweetened tea...either fresh brewed or out of their expansive drink cooler. read more

Mayback's is the greatest hidden gem in the area. You would never go inside and eat there just by looking at it from the outside but it is incredible. They have the best french fries around and I've never had a bad sub. My go to is the bacon cheeseburger sub and it's the best in the area. They have pretty low prices and it's locally owned which is always a bonus. There aren't many seats inside and the restaurant area isn't the greatest so I always call ahead and get takeout. read more

Best Rachel sandwich around. It is deceiving when you walk into this dumpy convenient store looking deli. Menu is basic and one wold never suspect anything great. I ordered the Reuben sub (substituting the beef with turkey). I also got the olive salad as a side dish. The seating area is simple and fills up during lunch. There are plenty of beverage choices as this is also a small convenient store. read more

What a find! Just in a rush for a bite and bingo. Great choices plus seating. Reminds me of deli's in the City.

Got the rueben on st. patrick's day and it was phenomenal, it was probably the best rueben i've ever demolished, they also have really good subs, recommend it for fast good sandwiches. read more

We went there for the first time today after reading the reviews and everything in the previous comments rang true! Such great burgers, fries, and fried mushrooms. We will definitely be back read more

I'm so glad I decided I decided to try this place! Everything I have had has been great everytime. The subs are good, the fish fry, the shrimp..all good. I honestly haven't had something I haven't liked yet. The service is always awesome! We usually order from work so have a few orders, and the guy who cashes us out is always so friendly and patient with us. read more

Don't let the exterior steer you away because inside they make some really good chicken finger subs. Chicken cooked to a perfect crispy texture and sauced beautifully. Well balanced sub and would recommend to anybody. read more

What can I say about this place that hasn't already been said. This is a great local joint that serves up freshly prepared sandwiches, tacos, pizza, wings etc with a friendly attitude. If you want to get served by some snot-nosed brat saving money for the latest iGadget go to Panera or Buffalo Wild Wings. If you want to support local economy and have a great tasting meal skip the chains and go to Mayback's. This place has been here as long as I can remember and for good reason. My favorites are the chicken finger taco and the roast beef sub. You really can't go wrong here. Next time I might have to try one of those breakfast sandwiches. read more

Awesome little deli, with great cold cuts, and amazing take there chicken finger sub is one of the best and there breakfast sandwich are a must have, on top of the fact that all there prices are very reasonable. Just wish they were open on Sundays!! read more

I really enjoyed my first trip to Maybacks, and looking forward to returning. I tried the often suggested chicken finger sub, which was delicious, a turkey and ham club which was pretty good, and an order of the seasoned fries. Everything was darn tootin'. I especially enjoyed eating there in the convenience store, which is a divey-type atmosphere that was clean and relatively quiet. Now I'm not sure I'd say the chicken finger sub was the best one I've ever had, but it sure was good. I'm looking forward to ordering it again and reconsidering it for my top-spot. read more

This place is hidden in plane sight, I must have passed it by a hundred times before. I stopped in to order some pretty basic subs: turkey club and chicken finger. The inside of this deli is clean and organized. And even though it was very busy, every employee I talked to was so friendly and helpful. Subs were delicious, Really great crunchy rolls! read more

Fish fry was not all it was hyped up to be. Unfortunately, they only have breaded and boiled, when most places in western NY have battered as well (my favorite). Probably won't come back for the fish fry, but will give a sandwich a shot next time. read more

The best place to get a fish fry at random times of the day. the spicy fries are my absolute favorite as well. quality food in a small location. very convenient as well. read more

Great little deli on the Blvd. I work at a near by store so this has become my go to place for lunch. Great sandwiches at a low price.

Their deli subs are amazing. Turkey bacon with Swiss, I swear it's like magical. I don't even know like what else to add, they just make excellent subs, cheap and quick. Yum. read more

I been coming here sense the early 2000's. The food is great and also comes at a great price. They have daily lunch specials for a half of sub with a side which is a great deal. The staff is great and friendly. Especially Mark who has been there forever. Great local spot! read more

Great sandwiches, good prices. Better for eat in than take out, at least for the hot sandwiches. But only a couple of tables for eat in, so you mostly have to take out, and by the time you get home, to the park, to the wherever you're going, the hot sandwiches are not the same as hot off the grill. read more

We come to Maybacks every Saturday. The food is fantastic, reasonably priced & always exactly as ordered. The management and staff are friendly & helpful. A definite "do". read more

Gem in the rough...tiny little cafe in a small convenient store. It don't look like much but the FOOD WAS INCREDIBLE! Don't let the look fool you... Huge, scrumptious tacos, and most awesome BLT I ever had! We WILL be back :) read more

I only ever order one thing, the Reuben sub but omg it is my favorite thing ever! Definitely a spot I visit frequently.

Best sub shop in Buffalo by far! And Buffalo has a lot of great sub shops. It's a hole in the wall and in a convenient store. You wouldn't expect this quality of food just walking in SO GIVE IT A CHANCE! Triple Reuben and chick finger sub on point! read more
