    BBQ ribs

Cozy little bar with the best ribs in town. That crown was worn by Jojos, but sadly they are no longer in business. Maya Coves BBQ is a close second. Fall off the bone. Really good sized Buffalo wings too. Good food, great service.

Fish, chips & Smoked Brisket Sandwich

Could smell the smoke from driving by, so we decided to stop in. Great idea! Best fish & chips I've had in a while. Served smokin' hot with a great crispy batter. Hubs enjoyed his brisket sandwich. BBQ sauce is like wine; you like what you like. Since he makes/sells his own sauce, it's hard to find something to compare. They did a good job & definitely worth a return trip! Sorry about not having a "before" pic. It looked so good when it came to the table, eating was the only option!

    Mac N Cheese

Had the 2 meat combo plate the meat had no seasoning it was smoked very well didn't have any kind of seasoning to it. Mac n cheese and fried pickles were good but the meat having no seasoning to it just put a bad taste in my mouth. And what really got me was that I had one drink and some chips and queso which was good and then I had the 2 meat combo and it came up to 42$. To me the quality was not there for the price that they are charging. If the meat wasn't so bland it would have been worth it.

The best sports bar around. The atmosphere is amazing, food is excellent and the staff is very friendly.

    Green chili

If you wrote one star you picked the wrong place, place is representative of the south welcoming, great food, green chili was spot on, cheap beer. Insides a true sports bar with a pocket stadium seating section for close group. Awesome, watch games close up get loud no worries If you don't like it, maybe you the problem

Salad with nail polish remover dressing

I went here because I had a coupon. There was one waitress working the whole restaurant, that is so messed up! I sat in the back which smelled like cleaner because it was right next to the back kitchen which didn't have a door. When I got my salad, I tried their mango dressing and it no joke tasted exactly like nail polish remover. Since there was only waitress I didn't see her again until I got my coconut shrimp. Once I got my coconut shrimp it was so deep fried and oily there was no coconut flavor because the few flakes were so burnt and my frozen shrimp fell right out of the fried casing.

Fresh, quality ingredients, nothing too fancy, just incredible cooking technique for a reasonable "nice dinner" price. The ambiance is small and humble, but still feels like a nice night out. They seemed short handed as it took until 15 minutes later for us to be able to let someone know we were there for our reservation. We were then seated in a side room of sorts. Our server came and welcomed us and snagged our drink order while we looked over the menu. A while later he returned with our beverages and took our food order. I chose to enjoy a glass of Sparkling Rosé by Gruet out of New Mexico. Lovely. The decor is an interesting mix of things. Odds and ends that come together to be their vibe. They have lots of great plants throughout the building as well. Our food arrived and we enjoyed it thoroughly. I chose to get the shrimp and grits. I added on a side of their collard greens. Those were delicious. the shrimp was well seasoned and grilled on top of some lovely, cheesy poblano grits. Two basted eggs crowned grits with a crispy tortilla strip garnish. My friend gave me her slice of focaccia toast. That was hearty. Being that we were in a side room and no one else was seated at the immediate tables, it was easy to be forgotten. We had to flag down our server to get our check so we could head on our way. I do understand how hard it is when short staffed. Overall solid beverage choices and great food. The staff is very pleasant.

Eh. Over recent years, I've had very hit and miss experiences at the downtown Austin's. Yesterday…read morewas another disappointing miss. We stopped in for a late lunch, arriving around 2. We started with a beer for my husband and a mocktail for me. The mocktail (blueberry lemonade) was simply not worth the $7 price tag. Mostly ice - filled to the literal rim of the glass. So full when I took one of my first sips, ice fell to the floor. There was just a splash of ginger beer; it could've used more but, alas, no room with all that ice! When I mentioned it to the server, she explained that's how they make them. She offered to bring me another, but it seemed clear she meant I'd be paying for it. No thank you. Next, my food. I tried the salmon burger (new to the menu, I'm told) which is actually a salmon croquette on a bun with some lettuce and vinaigrette. It's HUGE and not in a good way. The first few bites were okay, and I thought the heavily breaded effect was due to biting into the edge. As I continued eating, though, most bites felt like a mouthful of bread. I can only hope there was minced salmon in it, but the ratio was so heavy on breadcrumbs that I couldn't detect it. Not the slightest hint of pink on the inside either. I ate about 1/2, my hungry hub finished it. The flaws of the salmon burger didn't seem worth pointing out to the server after the response I got with the drink. Later, as we walked around downtown, I felt like I had a lead sandwich in my stomach. My husband had a better experience than I. His bison burger came out great. No complaints. Unfortunately for me, I think I'll just have to order very specific things when coming here now. Austin's has sentimental value for me - it's the first place we dined after moving here 27 years ago. Because of that, I keep giving them second chances after they fall short. I just wish they'd return to the days of "you can't go wrong", everything is awesome.

It is a fairly noisy place so I feel the upstairs was a little quieter and I was glad not to have been seated in one of several booths near the entrance with so many people standing and waiting on seating. Our server was nice and attentive, and the food came out rather quickly. I had an pleasant DC Oakes IPA and the Bomb Diggity hamburger with sweet potato fries. The burger was very tasty (a fat bomb) and with the fries was a substantial amount of food - I was only able to eat about half of it all. However, that burger had to be the saltiest burger I've ever eaten. Curious, I went to the DC Oakes website to find nutritional information about my meal and there is no nutritional information. A third-party website (Marcos.menu) offered the following on the Bomb Diggity: Calories: 1200; Protein: 50g; Carbs: 55g; Fat: 85g. Nothing about sodium. My wife is on a sodium-restricted diet and she knows not to order anything like this burger. But still, nutritional information would be nice to know. When do you plan on putting this information on your menu for your customers? I will return to sample more of their beer and food selections.

I have a feeling that this is a place where people go for drinks as most of the tables around us had cocktails but I can't speak to those. We did notice several mocktails on the menu which is always great! Wheelchair accessibility: there is some lot and street parking with accessible spaces close by. The front door is heavy and so you'll probably need somebody to help you open it, and the spaces between the tables can be a little tight although there is both seating on the patio and inside that would be accessible for wheelchair users. The bathroom door isn't too heavy and there is a large accessible stall.
