The food and service was amazing! Loved the vibe and the music was at the perfect level.

New ownership, great atmosphere and staff. This has become a restaurant instead of a deli. But I thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The chicken drumlettes (wings) were outstanding. They trimmed the bone end and pushed all the meat to the top. This made them less fatty and stringy, more crispy and delicious. Their short rib croquettes were also amazing. I'd never had a short ribs prepared this way stuffed inside a tasty pastry with potato and cheese. They are my new favorites. I was so full on appetizers that I went straight to dessert next and I have to say that their cookie dough creme brûlée. It wasn't too sugary and the cookie dough flavoring was not overpowering. Simply fantastic way to end a meal. I even took home their brownie and ice cream for my housemate. They said it was the best brownie they've ever had. read more

Choice City has changed... and NOT for the better, IMO. I have traveled to Fort Collins at least once a year since 2012 for work. On the first trip I discovered Choice City Butcher and the best damn hamburgers I have ever had, anywhere, bar none. I returned for a burger pilgrimage at least once on every trip since. The vibe was casual (order at the counter/bar) and the beer selection was outstanding. This last year I went back for my yearly trip and was excited to introduce one of my colleagues to this place. As soon as I walked in, it all seemed different. The beer taps were gone, a waiter (!!) greeted us and seated us in a foofy feeling booth. I inquired about the changes and found that the ownership had changed recently. The menu was much more upscale feeling (though prices were relatively reasonable) and lacked the signature burgers I was looking forward to. Our order started with the brussels sprouts appetizer. Solid app. Very tasty and nicely roasted with a yummy aioli. My old fashioned was fine, but nothing special (I make a better one at home with $20 bottle bourbon). My main was their Horsetooth Burger (Chili Relleno burger) which was pretty disappointing. The patty itself looked and felt like it was frozen, not hand formed like the old ones. The Poblano was nearly tasteless and way too big for the bun. Overall the burger was very average and not very flavorful. In the long run, I was pretty disappointed in the food. Service, was great. Very attentive and friendly. Despite that, this will probably be my last visit to Choice City. I will mourn the loss of those amazing burgers for the rest of my life... read more

Nicely updated interior and nice upscale look. Unfortunately it just doesn't live up to the quality and value of the old choice city deli. Food was fine but value for the $ certainly isn't there. Another issue I had personally is that so many dishes and sides are spiced with some sort of curry. I don't mind curry but using it in so many dishes for this type of restaurant is overkill and kinda odd. read more

We did an online order that said it would be ready AT 1pm. We got a text at 12:45pm stating the order was ready for pickup. Around 1:05 (parking wasn't easy) we picked up the order. The drive back was about 10 minutes. My OG breakfast burger was cold by the time we ate- which tells me it had been cooked and ready for pickup LONG before 1pm and definitely way before 12:45pm. Disappointing to bite into a cold burger. Also there was too much of the truffle aioli since it was oozing out of the burger. Something in it was quite salty too- bacon and maybe the truffle aioli... my side was the Rosemary chips- way too much rosemary and salt. I could only eat a small handful then had to stop bc it was so overpowering with rosemary and salt. Had it not been for the cold burger and too much truffle aioli and saltiness I think it would have been a tasty burger....but for $19 I expect the burger at bare minimum to be warm and for me not to be guzzling water during and after eating it. read more

The food looked really good and reading about it felt like it would be even better. I made an order online and said it would be ready after 30 min so I figured I had time to run and errand then go to pick it up. I got a text after 15 min saying it was ready and I was already on the way to my errand and figured it was 6 of 1 or 1/2 dozen so I continued to my errand and then went to go pick it up. Just felt like it missed the mark sitting there for 15-20 min before I got there and then I had to drive back to where I was eating it. Steak had no flavor except for the gravy that had too much flour in it, carrots were over cooked and too soft, chicken was dry with the gravy .. drinks are over priced for what you get. Not as great as it was under the previous ownership. Comfy Colorado vibe has been replaced with froo froo decor and menu items have also changed. House made root beer and ginger ale are gone. Butcher shop sandwiches and burgers are also gone. This once was a nice causal laid back place to grab a burger - now it looks like something you'd find in Dallas. The previous ownership made the best burgers in FoCo - the new owner's are not so great and I overpriced. They should have changed the name because it's nothing like the Choice City that was a FoCo institution. Very disappointing. read more

We had others recommend we try this place. We were in the area and decided to pop in for an early dinner. We were in before their snazzy dinner service and chose from their all day menu. Ordering takes place at the counter. The person helping us was pleasant. We ordered our food and beverages then picked out a spot to sit. We were both in the mood for hot sandwiches. My husband got the BLT. He was intrigued because it mentioned horseradish sauce in the description. I saw they had a hot Italian sandwich and was sold. They weren't very busy at the time of day we were in so it did not take long. The BLT was a tasty choice according to my hubby. I had a bite of the bacon and it was wonderful. When is bacon not wonderful?? My hot Italian was full of flavors. It had all the usual subjects: capicola, ham, salami, and provolone. Then a burst of fresh with lettuce, tomato, onion and banana peppers. It hit the spot. For beverages I had ordered their nitro selection however the person helping us was not aware that keg had kicked. I made another selection Fremont Lush IPA. This went well with my sandwich. My husband was excited because they had Chimay on tap. He loves Belgian beers. It may be that this beer had not been ordered in some time or some other circumstance but it had a stale flavor as if it had been sitting in the line for a while. Stopped by Choice City while staying at The Armstrong Hotel and tried the Cold Italian and their wedges...both were absolutely delicious! The wedge seasoning was addictive and kept me coming back for more. My bag was missing condiments, but the flavors were so good it didn't even matter. Highly recommend! read more

Wow. Everything was a 10/10. Food, service, ambience. We had a group of 12 during CSU graduation and Choice City far exceeded our expectations. We had everything from appetizers, salads, and mains. Plus after dinner drinks and dessert. The Pork Shank was outstanding as was the filet. For drinks we had several of their craft drinks, wine, mixed drinks, and ice tea. The Mule was a favorite! For a special occasion dinner the price point was excellent. The service was maybe the best I've ever encountered. We were waited on by the owner and she was the most kind and gracious host. We sat on the patio and it was a beautiful evening. Or age group ranged from college age to 80 years young. A meal to remember. read more

Really enjoyed the veggie sandwich I had here. The ingredients were fresh and I appreciated how toasted the bread was. Well, this place is super lame now. Not only did they remodel it for the boujee Sunday brunch crowd, but they totally ruined their menu and no longer have ANY beers on draft. Instead they now have a gaudy cocktail bar. I ordered the Cubano thinking they wouldn't have changed a classic sandwich like that, right?? I was wrong. When the server put it down in front of me I thought they had served me a burger by mistake but no, this was their NEW Cubano and it was terrible. Not only was the mustard way too hot for human consumption but the pork was cubed instead of pulled and it was served on a damn ciabatta bread. It's really sad to see this place go this way. I'm glad I got to experience it prior to the remodel because I will not be back. read more

Choice City has undergone a significant transformation - both the menu and the restaurant's interior, for those who are familiar with the restaurant. I have been to this place numerous times prior to the change. The previous experiences set the bar to high expectations. It was quite a surprise to walk in and see the new changes, but I was still willing to give it a try figuring it was on the up and up. The new look was light and airy, compared to the usual dim lighting. We were served waters, and promptly served complimentary peppered popcorn. It wasn't very good, but the effort was there. Reviewing the menu, many of the favorites from old menu were still there with some new ones. I ordered a classic old favorite. I noted that the old favorite did have a slight change to how it was made, but that was to be expected. The waitress asked how we would like our burgers prepared. It would be expected since the burgers have now more than doubled in price. If you're serving $25 burgers, these burgers better be top quality. I ordered well done, and my companion ordered medium. The food came out. We cut our burgers in half. Now, the burgers previously were double the size. I understand what the restaurant is going for by cutting the size portions. However, neither burger was cooked properly. If a restaurant wants to charge $25 per burger, it should get a cook who knows what well done and medium to well done burger mean, how they should appear, and how to check if a burger is cooked to the proper requested temperature. We were served rare burgers. Neither of us finished our burgers or our sides. Let's talk about the sides. Garlic mashed potatoes were once a staple of Choice City. It was nearly impossible to get them past lunch or even served all the way through lunch. I doubt that'll be a problem going forward. The new twist on the garlic mashed potatoes is that they are no longer served with slightly chunks of unmasked cooked potatoes and skin, but instead some unknown over-peppered potato substance, smothered in a gravy sauce that tastes like it was made from a powder. Definitely would not recommend ordering. The worst part was never did the waitress ask how the food was. She asked if we needed anything else which when we received our food, we were all set. When she saw we were no longer eating she tried to sell us dessert, and promptly left the check when we declined. She had the opportunity to ask how we felt about the food, but still didn't even though on both of our plates more than half our food was left and neither of us asked for a to-go box. Unless that has been the norm, which I'm guessing based on our experience it has, I would be concerned about how the customers feel about the food. Regardless, I wouldn't recommend going back to Choice City. It used to be a favorite to eat, but I've scratched that as a place and will be eating at other favorites. read more

Choice City Cafe is a new reincarnation of Choice City Butcher. The Boss Lady, Lavee (sp?), has remodeled, created a new menu, and hired a wonderful staff! She is a rock star! It's a beautiful, casual room. We have only tried the lunch menu. The salads and sandwiches were very good. The drink menu was interesting, lots of alcohol and non-alcoholic creations. Used to be my favorite spot in town for a great Sandwich. The Rueben was delicious, piled high with perfect proportions of ingredients. Then everything changed with the recent remodel. It went from a cozy spot that was somewhat pricey but well worth it, to a sterile, characterless place that was even more pricey but worse quality. They cut the menu in half, cut the portion size in half, meanwhile increased the prices by at least a dollar for everything on the menu. A Diet Coke was 4 dollars, from a soda fountain. Service was alright but the trend of ordering at a counter and being asked for a 15% tip is getting ridiculous. Owners need to stop with this and pay their workers, not shift the responsibility to the patrons in the form of a tip. It's disappointing as this was my go to spot for a good sandwich and beer, now I do not think I will return. read more

Choice City is amazing! I can't recommend it enough. We were just walking around when we found it and had to go in. The whole feel of th place is so warm and inviting. We got cocktails and the bartender Lavi was incredible! She made each of us a cocktail based on us and they were perfect. The food was incredible. We will be regulars from now on. I thought I would try out choice city. I have been hearing good things. At first glance the restaurant is beautifully decorated. We were immediately greeted and taken to our seats. The menu was full of variety for a small menu. We had the short rib croquettes and cheese curds for appetizers. DELICIOUS!!!! For dinner some our party had the mushroom burgers they ranted and raved about how delicious they were. So delicious they would not share. I had the New York strip and mashed potatoes. Such a great experience at Choice City! Great atmosphere and delicious cocktails. They are also vegetarian friendly. We wanted the prosciutto burrata and they suggested a prosciutto alternative of arugula which was delicious. The owner, I think, or GM, Lovie or Lovey (or I am completely mis-spelling!!) was incredibly nice and came up and chatted to us for awhile, as were the servers. I can't remember the young gentleman working there this evening, but he chatted with us and gave us great recs for cocktail bars. :) Definitely go for a nice date night or fun night for some great cocktails with friends!! read more

Best sandwiches and beer selection around! I've been here several times for lunch and every time they impress. They truly care about quality meats, service, and beer. The burgers are some of the best anywhere and the sandwiches are always amazing. I'm a huge beer guy and the line of taps they get here is seriously impressive. The rare beer options leave you with a great beer to pair with whatever you are having. My favorite sandwich is the Philly and I dream about this sandwich for a few days after I get it each time. The wait can sometimes be a little long if you are here when it is busy, but you won't be disappointed. Just get a beer to drink while you wait! I was recently here for one of their famous Beer Dinners and that was so fun! I didn't love all the food courses, but it was still so fun to try different beers and have interesting food prepared by some of the talented people we have in the area. We have been waiting for the new version of Choice City to open and we dined there Friday, May 30th. What a difference from the old Choice City Butchers! Interior is completely redone and done well. The menu still has "your Burgers" but also features some very enticing main entrees. The bar and wine menu has some very interesting drink suggestions and the owner is ready to make any cocktail of your choice...hint "Lemon Drop Martini." The wine list is not that big but there are also wines available that are not on the menu. Ask the server or owner for a suggestion for a wine pairing. We had the Cab Franc, listed on the menu, and it was marvelous. Now, to the food..we shared the Proscuito Barrata appetizer - delicious (three pieces) and we both had the Pork Shank entree with mashed potatoes and either the Tamarind Carrots or the Broccolini. Both sides were excellent but the Pork Shank was incredible! They offer a couple of different steak choices and a vegetarian option, as well. This is a hidden gem! We met the new owner and she is dedicated to making this your go-to restaurant. As before, they are open for lunch with burgers and sandwiches and a large beer menu. Go there - EAT! read more

I have eaten here twice and both times the main part of my meal was spectacular, a Reuben the first time and the Black and Blue burger the second. Service was good also. This is not getting five stars because both times I've ordered the potato salad as my side and both times it's been weird. I didn't hate it but I didn't like it.
