Allow me to preface this review as a comparison to the comet chicken in FoCo, this is by no means a negative review! From the moment you walk in, it is in fact the very same yet different Comet! Homestyle vibes with urban modern feel. A bit more space than Foco but still a great location and experience as the latter. You still get the same amazing fountain options, teas and drinks without the hustle and bustle of the Foco area. The food is that same great flavor! My go to will always be the Nashville Hot Chicken and tenders so the comparison will be kept to that. Throughout my few visits to the Loveland location there are some little difference to take into account, if you are a snob for the best of the best of the best but do not let that sway you.. I have found that the wait time tends to be longer here in Loveland, however the difference is in the texture! Comet in Loveland has had crispier and perfectly cooked chicken everytime! In comparison to the faster service and lighter batter/less crispy but still fresh chicken in FoCo. It's worth the extra few minute wait in my opinion. The flavor? Well still the same amazing WOW factor you get in their sauces. My one downside is the lack of seasoning on fries compared to Foco. There seems to be a slight difference in that area, however like the chicken, the fries seem to be crispier and stay like that longer here in Loveland. I will always have a place in my heart for Comet in FoCo, but the location, the energy and the food here in Loveland has started to make me enjoy it here more and more! There are honey mustards that I like; this wasn't one of them. Asian Zing (at Buffalo Wild Wings) is my favorite wing sauce by far; Comet Chicken's "Spicy Thai" tastes just like it. I like everything about the Stubborn Soda drinks, from the dispenser to the drinks it dispenses; my Lemon Berry Acai was delicious! Most visits have both pros and cons; here are the cons: As we sat down, I actually said to my wife that I felt bad for the owner, who created a great menu and a restaurant with great decor, only to have our experience pulled down by an employee like the one who took our order. I would give this joint a 3.5. I ordered the Nashville Chicken sandwich, side salad and drink. What I liked about this place: -super clean and unique interior -soda fountain was really cool. It had old style pull handles and the pineapple cream soda was beyond superb!!! 5 -chicken was super crispy -salad was very tasty and fresh. -when paying at the register it gave the option for tip starting at 5% Now what I didn't like: -the service was very lackluster. They were all young and I thought they were maybe a little dense but turns out they didn't give a s/&# about anything! -while the salad was fresh and very tasty, they mistakenly added fresh horseradish to it. When I brought this up with the staff they acted like I was an idiot! I liked the horseradish despite the mistake! -the chicken was crisp & cooked perfectly but to me it wasn't actual Nashville Chicken. It was more like spicy chicken and it was not that spicy! I just found out about this cute little place in downtown Loveland. It's next to the museum. We came in here to try out there chicken strips. Everybody raves about them and they had good reviews. You order at the counter, and they bring you your order to the table. They have chicken sandwiches and chicken strip baskets. We chose a three strip basket that came with fries and coleslaw. These are hand, breaded chicken strips that have a great breading, which is crispy and light. You choose from several sauces. We got traditional ranch, and hot sauce with blue cheese. The inside of the chicken is very moist and definitely flavorful. The french fries were pretty good as well. Their coleslaw is very different. It has cabbage and kale with a very light dressing. I thought it was OK, but needed more seasoning like salt and pepper? My husband had the spicy green chili fried chicken sandwich. It had just the right amount of heat and was tender and delicious.. I only got one bite, but believe me, it was really nice! They have some really great sodas available. We enjoyed the root beer very much. There is parking on the street. There is also a parking lot near. This place was super bright and was right next-door to a brewery. You can sit at the brewery, and order, chicken while there. They'll bring it over to you! The staff was really great. You could see them hard at work in the kitchen while you're ordering. Definitely going to go back here and enjoy another entrée. My spouse picked up a to-go order for us for dinner on Saturday. Overall it was a decent experience. Takeout fries are always a risk and these didn't fare well but that's how fries go. However, the chicken still was crispy even after roughly 15 minutes and we both really liked the coleslaw, which has some kale in it. We both liked the honey mustard and ranch. Downtown Loveland has so many great options to eat, lots of local non-chain restaurants which is what many should strive for. The chicken was excellent, whether tenders or a sandwich it had amazing breading along with lots of crunch. So many options for the sauces, either on the side (recommended) of tossed in them (if you know you want a specific one) the Asian sauce I felt was 10/10, Nashville was great just a bit more oil than other places, and for a change I had maple syrup. Kids ordered 2 tender 2 churro meal and loved it. Careful if you order the cosmic fries, they are spicy but delicious. Great place that also has a selection of local beers, wines. Excellent food! I normally do not get bowls of any type, but decided to try their Bowl Bahn Mi with Spicy Thai Tenders, rice, pickled vegetables, sriracha mayo, cilantro, lime. (There are cucumbers and onion in there, too. The menu doesn't tell you that.) It was delicious! I wish I had longer time in the Valentine Town to try their other menu items. Worth a trip! 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Tucson-top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. While I really enjoyed my tenders from Comet, I didn't really like much else. The restaurant wasn't clean, the fries were cold, and the coleslaw had no flavor. It is a shame, because the chicken tenders are actually super good. The breading is unique and very crunchy. It reminds me of a tempura batter almost. I thought the Thai sauce was also good. The chicken is served on top of the fries in a basket with a paper between them. It seems like they prepare a lot of fries in advance, put them in baskets, and then top it with the chicken when its done. When I got my food, the tenders were fresh and hot, but the fries were cold and I didn't eat most of them. The coleslaw is pretty bad. KFC has better coleslaw. This has almost no dressing and no taste. Just shredded lettuce. The cherry on top was that the table I sat at appeared to be clean, but I didn't notice that there was a sticky residue left behind on the table by a previous patron that was not cleaned up. It got all over my sleeve. The rest of the restaurant was pretty dirty as well with food and trash all over the tables and floor. read more

We stumbled upon this great restaurant this afternoon on a short trip to Loveland. The restaurant is really cute. The decor is fun and light with an open environment. We walked in at lunchtime and so there was a line but it moved quickly. They don't have a huge menu but there is a variety that suits many tastes. My daughter and I both ordered chicken bowls and thought they were great! I had the bahnmi bowl and she had the Baja bowl. The food was so fresh and flavorful! I really enjoyed the mix of veggies with all the fun flavors of bahnmi. One thing that I really loved was that the bowl wasn't so huge that you couldn't finish it. The serving size was great and still very filling. I would love to go back again. Oh! And my daughter loved her Baja bowl too! They have chicken finger baskets, several chicken sandwiches which are the chicken fingers on a bun with different sauces and condiments. Salads and power bowls. We ordered the Nashville hot chicken sandwich meal that comes with regular or comet ( spicy) fries. The fries are lightly sprinkled with spicy seasoning.... Not crazy hot but a good spicy flavor. The Nashville is just perfect on the spice. The chicken fingers come in options up to 5 strips. A side and coleslaw. They are very good. Great chicken pieces and a light batter that has just a little crunch. You get 2 sauces with the chicken fingers. They offer some fun sodas and iced tea along with alcoholic options. Don't know the history of this place, and the only reason we ate here this evening was that we was having trouble finding parking and just looking for something new. For me the name wouldn't have gotten me to stop if driving by. The building is nicely presented and next to few happening places, so we decided to check it out. I asked if I could get multiple sauces if I ordered 3 piece, she said it would be like 50 cents extra, I said fine.when I got the strips they were not tossed the sause was on the side, so I was a little confused if I'd asked the wrong thing or accidentally asked for it on the side. Nevertheless my strips were really awesome. I ordered 1 Nashville Hot and 2 Sweet Thai Chili. Let me tell you the Nashville sauce is the real deal!! Not all Nashville Hot's are created equally. This place has the real stuff. It's hard to explain but it's all about the oily, gritty and flavor and heat and it's got crazy heat. I'm probably getting soft in my age but the heat was too much for me. The everything Elise was incredible about the Nashville Hot. Like I said only ones that know will appreciate why I've spent so much time on just the Nashville Hot explanation. Great seasoned fries, cooked perfectly. My wife's bowl was tiny and it said on the menu it comes with 2 strips. Well it was only 1 and the portion in general was too small. So my only complaint is that and my only constructive suggestion is for whimps like me that love Nashville Hot would nice to have that same incredible sauce with less heat. And related to my wife's bowl I could and should have said something but just don't like to complain especially at a counter service place. The real question: Does the fried chicken hold up? The entire menu is fried chicken. Yeah, you can get grilled chicken (if you're training for Mr. Olympia ), but the rest of us are getting our chicken the way God intended: fried. (Now if you choose grilled chicken, all good, we all congratulate on your superiority . Let us know if it's any good. But we're going to enjoy our meal.) The good news? The chicken is great. I might even argue it's better than Chick-fil-a chicken. So if you're ideologically opposed to CFA, you can still get your fried chicken fix without the impending dread of getting cancelled. I got a 15-piece meal , space fries ‍, regular fries (NOT training for Mr. Olympia over here), and slaw . (NOTE: I threw the chicken and fries in the air frier just to warm them up.) I would give the chicken a 5/5 for the price. I'd give the fries a 4/5 (could have been cooked a little longer). And I'd give the slaw a 3.5/5 (mostly because the side is a TINY amount, but the slaw is quite good). I recommend their house sauce, their ranch, and their BBQ sauce, all of which would likely be approved by any red-blooded American who wants their food fried.
