I stopped by randomly for some authentic thai street food, I was surprised with a warm welcome from the staffs, super friendly, they have a lot interesting dishes and I ended up to order the grilled lamb dish, seem like a good deal (compare with a lot of different places), more surprise when the food came out, 6 tender racks of lamb and a lot of vegetables, I was so excited to try it out and forgot to take some picture (my bad), they grilled it perfectly, super tender and flavorful, highly recommend it, then I ordered the roti with vanilla ice cream, so delicious (I only have an empty place picture to prove my word) Then I ordered crab fried rice for togo, and again it didn't disappoint me at all, it was super flavorful, especially combine with the sauce that included, this the best crab fried rice I have ever had. Thanks for great experience Price - reasonable Service - friendly staffs Food - full of flavor for upscale authentic thai street food Would I recommend and visit the restaurant again - no doubt, definitely with my friends read more

The food is AMAZING The owner, and employees service were great! This is my 2nd time back with my team and wanted some good food on the way out. The food/ambiance was 10/10, and Thai iced tea was 15/10 I definitely recommend this location if you're in the area or coming thru Alameda! read more

Very good food and great service. We had the pad Thai with shrimp and spicy fried rice, extra spicy. The spice doesn't overpower the rest of the plate which I appreciate, but it is very spicy. The pad Thai was delicious. read more

May Thai Kitchen - Partially eaten pad thai - Thai Near Me - Alameda, California

Got the red curry mango shrimp with veggies and cashews, chicken fried rice and 2 mango sticky rice for me and my sister. I must say!!! This is my new spot!!!! I love Thai food but over time....monkey Thai at south shore has been increasing they're price. 2 dishes for $53??? No thanks! and toomies is just wayyy too high price for bad quality food and the place smells like mold. May Thai Kitchen however, has great service, food was a better quality and it was super delicious, nice ambiance inside the restaurant, and nice and knowledgeable people taking orders as detailed as possible and tonight they threw in a nice thai iced tea for free. I am very pleased read more

Really enjoyed our take out from May Thai. We tried it for the first time and ordered the pumpkin curry, eggplant dish and Pad Thai. Flavor was really good on all three. They are exactly as you'd expect on these dishes compared to other Thai restaurants we tried in the Bay Area. The Pad Thai had a bit more sauce than to our usual liking. Portions were all solid for the price you pay. Note that typical for many Thai and some Asian restaurants, rice is ordered separately and the curry and eggplant entrees were delicious with rice as there was plenty of flavor from the sauces. Definitely hit the spot if you are in the mood for Thai food! read more

Best Thai in the East Bay! The flavors of each dish are extremely nuanced. Specifically, the soups have explosive flavor and come with a flame that burns out on its own. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area. read more

The place looks amazing! I love the decorations and the staff is very friendly! Definitely a must try if you're in the area and want some Thai food or some steak. Not only the establishment looks good but so does the food, very presentable and decorated. The pad Thai was very good one of the best I've had. I was in the mood for some steak the second time and I wasn't disappointed they cooked it just how I like it and the seasoning was great. Check them out, you won't be disappointed! read more

Food was really great. Delivery was easy. I'd recommend this restaurant for your Thai food craving.

my mom and i love thai food and are always looking for new places to try. we stumbled upon may thai kitchen and we instantly loved the vibe. the hostess/server was extremely sweet and let us come in and sit down even though they were closing within 10 minutes of our arrival. we ordered right away and our food and drinks were out in less than 20 minutes! the drinks were amazing, i highly recommend the thai iced tea with coconut milk and the butterfly lemon tea. for food, we ordered the basil fish with pineapple and crab fried rice. the portions were so big! my mom and i shared both orders and had extra to take home. the main server/hostess was extremely sweet and patient. they were so welcoming and made us feel wanted and important. i definitely recommend coming here with literally anyone. i plan on taking all my friends and family back here in the near future! thank you may thai kitchen! read more

Absolute BEST Thai food! Flavors were on point and all food and drinks had a beautiful presentation! We ordered prawn pad thai, crispy rice salad and beef panang curry- plus Thai tea. The beef was like a stewed chunk of beef that was oh-so-tender and basically melted in your mouth. The servers and chef were all so humble and nice. I hope this restaurant is around for a looooong time! read more

We visited May Thai on the Sunday before thanksgiving. It's been busy since the holiday season started. Three of us were dining for dinner and two of us Re vegetarians. The food was beyond delicious. We ordered the coconut milk soup with tofu (vegetarian), side order of rice noodle to go with the soup - the best combo ever; pad Thai with beef; pineapple fired rice with tofu and pad see ew (custom made vegetarian version). The owner P was amazing, and super attentive. We originally wanted to order the pad thai with Tofu and she was honest with us that the pad thai source is not vegetarian and it won't taste like padthai without the source so she recommended the pad see ew instead, which turned out to be prefect. Not many restaurant would care about little details like that. Her effort in making sure that our dishes are vegetarian is above and beyond. She also check in with us about the food after they were served. It's definitely a five star restaurant for the excellent food, amazing customer service and warm/cozy atmosphere. You gotta try it out! You won't regret it. The Thai ice tea was also perfect. read more

It was the worst experience ever. First of all, it took them almost 50 minutes to serve a salad. The reason why they were so slow because they made the take-out orders first. Me and my friends just saw so many was waiting in front of the kitchen window. If you are looking for a real Thai food, then don't choose there. I got a surprised sweet pad Thai which I've never had. read more

Amazing food! It was so fresh and tasty. I got the spicy eggplant and was super impressed!

Great service, Great food , waiters and owners are delightful kind hearted people. Will definitely come back!

It take them ETERNITY to prepare food! Food quality is good, but you need to wait so long for it. We usually call in advance but when we come to pick it up they always say 10 more minutes, 15 more minutes ...its never ready on time! read more

do not eat here. they will poison you. my wife has been vomiting all night. we called the restaurant who gaslighted her saying 'maybe you're allergic' while also admitting the dish she ordered contained raw pork. nightmare fuel. read more

May Thai is the best Thai food I've had in Alameda. The service is great, the flavors are great, and that fish sauce with chilis is exactly what I've been looking for all my life. Spicy, savory, sweet, it's May Thai. Give it a try and you won't regret it. read more

The food is good. I've ordered take out a few times and they always forget something which is frustrating. Decided to dine in this time and oh how I miss the take out! Service is non-existent and don't expect courses to come out in order. Everything comes out and once, soup, main course, etc. read more

Great service, cute inside, food presentation was on point and everything was super tasty with great portions. They could tell we were hot when came in so they turned a fan on for us. Felt like I was back in Thailand, loved it! read more

Great tasting food and good service. I ordered the eggplant and the pompano fish and both are tasty and delicious.

Came here for lunch and everything was so good! The salad rolls came with two kinds of yummy sauce, the Pad Thai was the best I've had in the East Bay, and the pad krapow was tasty even though my sister ordered it mild. The pad krapow rice plate came with a fried egg with crispy edges, so good. Service was great, and the ambience was warmer than the pictures show. I usually don't take leftovers home unless there's a lot, but I scraped every last bit into the takeout box. read more

I was very excited to try a new Thai place in Alameda and with all the 5 star reviews my hopes were high. Unfortunately, I don't know if I'll be back. Three curries without rice came to a total of $66... just really expensive. We all got the least spicy level and still had a very hard time enjoying the food. Especially my older father who was wheezing the entire time he ate the food. I felt that the curries were far too watery and lacked flavor. Maybe I will have to try one of their noodle dishes but I was pretty disappointed with the curries. read more

All in all I would go back, very good flavor on the food and good service, but I can't give May Thai 5 stars because the basil chicken was good but it was honestly embarrassing how little chicken was in the dish. I appreciate them wanting us to get our veggies but it was pretty ridiculous. read more

Amazing! Fast, friendly service. Our new favorite Thai place in Alameda.

This is the best Thai food in all of Alameda hands down. Never gotten anything that wasn't absolutely delicious.
