Love Max's! It's a cute little spot close to the Dartmouth mall. It's been renovated the last few years to look a bit more modern, big TVs to catch the game too! Staff always friendly from when you walk in to when you leave. Came in on Sunday and they had a wing/tender special! The tenders are made and breaded in house and they are fresh and so so good. The wings are not sadly but i wish they were! The sauces were pretty good, fave was the honey bbq, but I would not get the garlic parm it tasted like someone melted a half stick of butter was not it sadly. The fries were good as well. Let me start by saying that I never leave a bad review, but this was such an awful experience that I was left speechless. Went to lunch with my husband yesterday and ordered a salad with grilled chicken. I think it was the harvest salad (?). It came served on paper, the same they serve their burgers on. I was at first glance really taken back by it, but I guess they don't have dishes maybe (?). The salad looked good but the dressing could not be poured as it was so thick. The chicken which looked like breast to me was so tasteless and fatty and it was just so off putting. I did not eat it. I did mention my dissatisfaction to the server who agreed that serving salad on paper is odd. When the bill came the $23 salad was not taken off. We paid and left never to return again. read more

I was equally impressed by their eclectic menu filled with your typical American fare and craft beers. I went for the gold fever tenders. They're made with juicy, tender and clearly fresh to order fried chicken tenderloins. In a sweet yet savory honey mustard/bbq sauce. I would totally recommend if you're at a loss for what to order. The service was a bit slow when we went, but the restaurant was loud and busy, so I won't deduct points, as the servers were friendly and gave us everything we needed/asked for. My daughter and I both had overcooked burgers , my son had overcooked boneless wings and my wife had a soggy buffalo chicken quesadillas which she said barely tasted of buffalo sauce. Maybe it was just an off day for them but when you're spending $75 for lunch it's frustrating to leave unsatisfied. Please do better. So decided to try this place with some coworkers for lunch as it isn't too far of a drive and we wanted some burgers. We arrived and the waitress was on her phone at the cash register and we waited to be seated which was a bad sign. The place was bright and average nothing outstanding for ambiance but ok for a burger and wings place. Strike 2 was when it took forever to get our drinks. After we finally got our drinks we placed our food order. About a half hour later the waitress arrived and asked one of my coworkers how she wanted her burger cooked again at which point we just asked for our food to go. The waitress apologized and said they were slammed so thats why there was a backup. The funny part was that the place wasn't even a quarter full. We finally received our food and rushed back to work to make it back in time for meetings and had to eat while on a call. My opinion if your a chicken spot you have a responsibility to let your customers know how you're going to provide your quality product. I go on the site and they tell you about fresh chicken. In my mind dealing with many places which are not chicken only oriented places they mean Fresh Wings. Fresh wings are actual chicken wings that are made fresh to order. WING DINGZ are frozen pre breaded chicken wings that you have no clue when they were breaded and how long ago. I called and ordered and asked the young lady on the phone if the wings are fresh and she proceeds to tell me yes they are. I got on the site and I see the different combos and tell her the 3 sauces I would like to try and $25-$30 later we concluded my order. As you can see from the picture I was given wing dingz instead of fresh wings. I proceed to call the establishment to speak to someone and was routed to a manager who proceeds to tell me that wing dings ARE FRESH WINGZ and that that's all they have. Excuse me that's not what fresh wings are and if you're the manager or owner and don't know the difference please close your doors immediately cause this ain't your type of business. I don't know the last time I was here. The food was good but didn't like the lay out. Wow! What an upgrade. Food was amazing and the place had a very modern feel. Staff was friendly and extremely attentive. Hand cut fries which is also a plus. $10 for a burger and almost $5 more for fries. Looking at the menus felt pricey but after eating it I will be back. We started off with a blooming onion. Has to be one of the best I ever had. The shake came in a glass which isn't something you see these days. It was perfect. Very thick, I was able to drink it without waiting. Only reason it's not a 5 is $4 soft drinks and $5 for adding fries. I prefer an honest price for the food rather than inflating soft drinks and add ons. read more

Great food, this place's burgers are some of the best around, in my opinion. But what's really kept me impressed is the service. I've had a couple of different waitresses in the couple of times that I've been here, and the service has been excellent each time. Very attentive, joking around with my party, making recommendations if we were unsure what to order. I've worked in retail for years, those kinds of people skills is either something you're born with or you just don't have it. Been going to Max's for about seven years now we normally order the same thing every time, I know things are getting more expensive, but to charge somebody price the same price as you were getting a half order of Max out takeout fries and then they hand you your hamburger with the side of fries you normally get and give you a little thing of cheese, bacon, hot rings, and wacky another $5.50 is ridiculous. I feel like I got screwed and I've never felt that way coming here. Came in on a Sunday and the place was at 30% capacity, not busy at all. My girlfriend and I saw that they had Gluten Free options so we gave it a shot. The service was ok, but I give this 2 Stars because I'd like to assume that it wasn't the main chef who was working this day. Here's what happened: 1. Appetizers came out fine, but we came during a shift change so the 1st waitress forgot to put a Gluten Free bun for one of the burgers. 2. We sent back for a new burger to replace the normal bun, but all the cook did was put the cross-contaminated burger on a GF bun. That's a huge no-no. 3. We both ordered medium-well burgers, but both came out burnt. 4. Typically, whenever a kitchen messes up an order they won't charge you for their screw up. Not this place. 05/21/24 Casual lunch visit. The staff were helpful and friendly. The restaurant is quite close to the main road through Dartmouth, but I didn't hear traffic. The tacos were good, as was the taco burger, cooked as requested. The fries were interesting - thin with some crunch on some of them, which I happen to like. They were served a little cold, though. There was a big selection of draft beers, mostly IPAs, which I don't happen to much like. I settled on the Mayflower Cosmic Wanderer, which wasn't too bad. There was a wheat beer, and a cider. It would have been nice to have a regular Samual Adams beer, or even a Budweiser. I'm still happy to give the experience a four-out-of-five. read more

Expect to wait more than 45 minutes for your appetizer. The waitress with the red hair is a horrible waitress. People are able to sit down next to us and get both their apps and entrees before we even see our waitress for a second time. I ordered a double Max burger cooked MEDIUM and it came back charred black. I might as well have asked for charcoal, I wasn't willing to wait about 45 minutes for my food to be remade. Didn't finish. Didn't want a box. The fries tasted old and stale and wasn't good. The waitress was only quick to pick up the check. Maybe she was excited about getting a tip. Well guess who didn't get one. Tatum. The burgers taste like their just off your back patio Weber model with great grill marks and with everything you could ever want to put on top of them.
